Story
Delaney is a gorgeous Dutch Shep mix She is about a year old and 45 pounds. Delaney is a perfect lady in her crate and she walks well on a leash. She is high energy and is at the perfect age to train for any discipline. She would be best as a single dog as she tends to be dog selective, but a meet and greet would be recommended. . She does not like cats. She is people friendly and loves attention. She will be a great addition to an active family Applications at poorpawsrescue.com

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Lady is a super friendly, energetic, wonderful girl thought to be a very young 6 years old! She weighs about 33 lbs. currently, but we are working on having her gain a few lbs. She was transferred to us from a local shelter, and is a volunteer favorite with us! All we know of her home history is that her family took her from a box she was in with other puppies. Lady's family then had her for around 6 years until it was time for them to move. Rather than take her, they dropped her at a shelter, scared and confused. Lady loves to play tug-o-war with stuffies, play fetch, and is good on a leash - she loves long walks/runs and is super affectionate! She is people-oriented and would prefer to be the only furry love at home. Kids 13+ okay. If you are interested in meeting this affectionate girl, please complete an application at save.rescuegroups.org.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 11, 2025, 9:26 pm

Summer was rescued in 2021. She was starved, tied up and left during a heatwave. She has been waiting nearly 4 years for her forever home. She is a female Dutch Shepherd Mix, approximately 6 years old. She loves to chew on her toys but is non-destructive in her room. She is very intelligent and knows her sit, paw and speak commands! Story
Mark is a distinguished gentleman who was sadly surrendered to the shelter when his owner had to move and couldn’t take him along. Despite this big change, Mark remains friendly and enjoys the company of people. Mark is an active and energetic pup who would thrive in a home with an active adopted who will take him for walks where he can stretch his legs. He’s crate-trained but he’ll need some help with house training. Mark is great with people but his previous owner shared he isn’t a fan of small animals, so a home without them would be best. If you’re looking for a loyal, high-energy pal looking for a second chance, Mark could be the fella for you! Videos: Tony the Tiger, Spot, Molly, and Mark drop leash: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2IJUereJPg Behavior Notes: Per staff 2/26: “Playgroup notes: Pulled moderately to the yard. No handling attempted. Baring teeth and alert barking at the fence, barrier reactive, not steerable with water, after reacting just sniffed around and ignored other dogs, avoidant. Greeted male with high, loose wags, ears erect. Greeted female with butt sniffs, loose wags. Continued to be not steerable.” 02/25 Behavior Evaluation: KENNEL PRESENTATION: Mark was in a crate due to space. He came to the front with low wags, soft eyes and was not a fan of the leash going over him. He was dodging it, shaking it away and trying to avoid it. After a few tries the handler was able to leash him and he exited easily. LEASH SKILLS: Pulls moderately / strongly, Very focused on scents while walking HANDLING: Mark was very stressed in the room and was painting heavily, whining and pacing a lot. He would come over to us when called but remained very stressed and exit focused. He allowed all handling without issue and was tolerant, but remained very stressed and did not lean in or solicit much- remaining focused on finding exits. PLAY: No interest TOYS: No interest Per owner: “Nice to human, don't like small animal. High energy, crate trained. Barks at strangers, friendly with children, does not like cats. More Exercise, very active, need big yard. Nice to family. Spend more time with him.” Medical Notes: Per an exam on 2/23: -Eyes were clear but probably red from stress. -Ears were waxy -Teeth have moderate staining -Bright, alert, responsive, seems stressed to have left owner and didn't like being restrained for vaccines ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. Story
Lady Bug is a nervous girl who is still learning to feel safe in her new living quarters at the shelter. Though she doesn’t seek out attention just yet, she’s curious and shows small glimpses of trust. She allows all handling and is incredibly tolerant, even though she is unsure. LB walks well on a leash and seems to be housebroken. In playgroup, Lady Bug was fearful, running away from other dogs rather than engaging. She needs a patient and understanding home that will help her build confidence at her own pace. With time, love, and a safe space, Lady Bug has the potential to blossom into a loyal and loving pet! Meet Lady Bug at ACCT Philly any day of the week from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. BEHAVIOR NOTES: 03/12/2025 staff notes: Awesome girl! Great temperament. Went to spend some time with her after work in her kennel and she was relaxed, laid her head down on my lap and I just pet her and was showing her love. She really appreciated it. It's so loud in kennels all the dogs were barking and despite that she got comfortable with me. 03/11/2025 staff notes: Took Lady Bug out tonight. Easy to leash and came right out the kennel without issue. She didn't pull on the leash for the most part but when we walked by the welcome center kennels there was a dog there that started barking and it really startled her. She jumped backwards but was very curious to see the dog so I walked her up to him and she started to play bow. It was really cute! Once in the big play yard I dropped the leash and tried to engage play by throwing the ball and stuffed animal which she was not interested in at all. She got the zoomies for a few minutes and was running all around and coming back to me play bowing again which was super cute. Once we were ready to go back in she didn't give any issues and went right back into her kennel. 03/11/2025 staff notes: KENNEL PRESENTATION: Lady Bug was laying down on the backside and came to the front while alert barking at me. Once she was at the font she began sniffing the leash through the crack and gave a single wag. She allowed easy leashing and came right out once secured with neutral body language. LEASH SKILLS: Pulls minimally HANDLING : In the room, Lady Bug was pacing and exit searching, looking at me when I called her but never coming forward. I pulled the leash closer to me to interact with her and she allowed all handling, remaining tolerant but very anxious. She's a bit nervous and timid, getting a little shocked whenever I pet her. She showed no interest in treats and when she's overwhelmed she climbs chairs and puts herself in a little relaxation / timeout corner. PLAY: No interest TOYS: No interest 03/10/2025 staff notes, playgroup: Lady Bug was fearful and super soft during playgroup. She did not give any corrections to the other dogs when they were invading her space. She seems to be more of the "prey" in a predator vs prey situation. 03/10/2025 staff notes, playgroup: I took Lady Bug out for playgroup. She walked very well on the leash and there was one moment where she pulled strong so I knew she had it in her, but she did not pull the majority of the time I had her! She went potty quickly after getting outside. She was nervous but curious, and allowed all handling but was a little flinchy. She barked a few times when she saw the other dogs getting rowdy in the yard but was very easily redirected! Very sweet lady 03/10/2025 staff notes, playgroup: In playgroup, Ladybug was super fearful and seemed to act like prey, crouching low to the ground and running away from the other dogs quickly, enticing them to chase her. Even with her size, I would be cautious about putting her out with prey driven dogs. She was very shut down and too scared to give any corrections. 03/10/2025 finder noted Lady Bug is "friendly" ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in.
