We are looking for a home in a state where people treat their animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport near one of the cities listed at the bottom. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, she will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. -Skid is a male, possibly Dutch Shepherd/Plott Hound mix and is around 20 months old. ~55-60 pounds -Tested Heartworm Negative December 11th. -He came into the shelter of July 2023 as a puppy and deserves more than life in a shelter. He is our longest term resident and deserves a home for Christmas. He was homeless last Christmas. -Skid does well with other dogs. -He has been to multiple public events and seems to do well with children. -He loves people as well and walks well on a leash. -Can be a tad shy at first but warms up quickly. -He loves to take toys into his doghouse in his kennel and play with them. -Walks well on a leash. -He was just professionally groomed and did a great job! -Video of Skid: https://youtube.com/shorts/IWq1HqJdjnw?feature=share Skid is neutered, vaccinated (Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella), has been dewormed, a negative heartworm test, on monthly flea/tick/HW prevention. Health certificate and exam will be performed less than 10 days prior to transport. Adoption fee is $550, this is including all vetting above and $250 transport cost. STRYKER - Young, Fun, and Energetic Yes, you will be thunderstruck with this amazingly athletic and fun dog. He is going to keep you entertained for hours and then just chill out at night, you will fall in love with Stryker. This handsome, playful and friendly Dutch Shepherd dog can’t wait to meet you and become best buddies. He loves to play and run around outside, getting a full head of steam playing fetch and stretching his legs. When inside, Stryker can play or learn to chill by your side while you do some work from home. Like any shepherd, this guy is smart and active. Get those tennis balls and tug toys out because he loves playing fetch or goofing off with just about any toy. Stryker is incredibly agile and fast. He enjoys brisk walks and being with people. If properly introduced Stryker can make friends with dogs his size. Stryker can sometimes be a little possessive of his ball when playing with other dogs. He can also be over excited when seeing new dogs or small animals on walks or hikes and not a fan of small animals. He was gentle and easy going when walking with our special girl Phoenix. Stryker is about 3 years old and close to 70 pounds. He is healthy with no underlying medical issues. As you can see from his pictures he is quite photogenic, but even pictures don’t do him full justice. You have to meet him to truly experience his joyous nature. Stryker has all the physical, intelligence, and active characteristics of a full Dutch Shepherd. Stryker will be best served in a home with a fenced in yard. Stryker is also a candidate for our foster to adopt program, which allows a potential adopter the opportunity to foster Stryker for 3 weeks prior to committing to an adoption. Preference will be given to owners with a fenced in yard. Based on his activity level, we are also looking for a home with older children. May is a sweet, smart and energetic girl who is approximately 2 years old. She was adopted from a shelter and she is not good with our cats. In addition she is crated for too long during the day. She needs someone who is home and can give her daily exercise. She is anxious when left alone and takes medication. She is crated during the day while we are at work. It is a very long day for her. We keep her on a leash in the house while the cats are out, for the cats safety. She loves to run in the yard and play ball. She is very affectionate and sleeps in the bed with us at night. She deserves someone who is home more and where she can be the only pet.

Her owner adopted her when she was a baby and unfortunately he can no longer keep her due to he has cancer and can not take care of her like she needs to be. He called Four the Paws to see if we could find her a great home because that is all he wants for her. She received all her shots but will be spayed prior to her adoption. Dixie is a little shy right now being moved from her home and she doesn't now what is going on, but she loves to play with her toys and is very good on a leash and loves to go for walks.
