Story
Meet Amina! She is a beautiful Dutch Shepherd, around 1-3 years old and 50 pounds. We aren't sure what she's been through, but she spent a week jumping fences and hiding in the backyards of a neighborhood before she came to the City of Raytown Animal Services. She is very loving, walks well on a leash, and is dog friendly. The Pet Connection can help with suggestions on how to help as well. Amina will need at least a six-foot fence and must be walked on a leash until you're sure she cannot jump that fence. She will do best in a home with someone experienced with this breed of dog and who will allow her the time she will need to decompress. She is not doing well in the kennel and needs to find a foster or adopter soon. In the quiet moments in boarding, she will snuggle up in your lap, press her head against your chest, and take a deep breath as she enjoys the reassurance. She's scared, but so loving. Once she finds a home we just know she will fully relax and show her full sweet personality. Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 for more information. Amina is in the KC metro, but transport is available to the right home.

Story
Fern is an incredibly smart and lovely Husky/German Shephard/Saint Bernard mix, but I unfortunately need to rehome her due to my chronic illness clashing with her high energy, as well as financial issues. She’s incredibly smart and food motivated, picking up on tricks and commands very quickly once the groundwork is laid, especially with regular training sessions. She loves getting cuddled and doing puzzles, because anything that can get the gears in her head turning is a big favorite to her. She does need more socialization with other dogs, and has some issues with jumping, and we’ve been working on it, but that might cause difficulties if you have kids. She loves going on walks, and does fairly good on leashes, along with loving chasing toys in big backyards. She’s still young, and with the proper love, socialization, and training she could be set up for success and be the smartest companion you could ask for. If you have absolutely any questions about her, feel free to reach out!

Story
I got Irie from a friends family member. She’s almost a year and a half old. She’s very energetic and is such a sweetheart. I just don’t have time for her and I’d like to find a home that suits her better. She is kennel trained, but unfortunately chews things up if they’re left in the kennel. She can have a kong toy and some chew bones though. She can’t be left alone in the house because she will chew things up and get into trash. I would love for her to find a home that can provide more training for her, and can match her energy levels.
