Story
Gunner is a great dog who isn't quite used to having little kids in his house. We recommend older children for him to be successful in a new home. Gunner is playful and loving. He gets along with other dogs but doesn't care for the cats much. Gunner is a bit of a parrot because he loves to lay on the back of whatever you're sitting on! He loves to be brushed and petted. :) You have to meet him to appreciate his quirky personality. Gunner has a bit of anxiety and would benefit from only having 1 other animal in the home or no other animals in the home. We feel he would also benefit from someone being home a majority of the time. He really is a good boy who just needs a chance to love someone. Gunner is microchipped and crate trained. He does howl once in a while in the night. :) Come meet him!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Warren is a younger guy (1 to 2 years old) who was found as a stray on a rural property. He was held for the legal stray hold and no owner was ever found, so he came to us on 11/11/2024. He looks mostly like a German shepherd mix, but there could be other breeds in there like cattle dog and husky. He has been vet checked, neutered, and microchipped, and his fee is $150. Warren is a larger, strong boy who will require some good, consistent training and good exercise. He seems pretty well mannered and loves to be with people. He needs an experienced owner who can set clear, firm boundaries with him. We're not sure how he would do with other dogs as he can be possessive of toys and food. Cats? Most likely a no. No kids for him as he does need some training and still demonstrates some puppy behavior (mouthing and jumping). He'll definitely require some regular brushing to keep his coat fabulous! A fenced yard would be perfect for Warren until he perfects his leash skills. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.resuegroups.org. Keep an eye on your emails if you apply. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 14, 2024, 11:56 am
