The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. Story
Mayhem is a high drive (and high energy) Long Hair (some call him a stock coat) Dutch Shepherd. He is around a year old, but his previous life was extremely sheltered. When he first came into MAD he truely knew nothing. Everything was brand new and he was on sensory overload. Something as simple as a dove flying across the sky, a cat walking across the field, another dog barking, or even a stranger walking up to say hello was a threat that HE had to deal with. He would bark, growl, and lunge at the threat to make it all go away. A short 3.5 months later, with a some basic training, Mayhem is a different dog. When on leash he can walk past chickens running across the yard, inbetween the horses, and even greet the cat with a quick nose push. He loves to fetch a ball (or other toy) and drop it at your feet to have you throw it again (and again, and again). He loves to find "lost" items like his ball and bring it to you. He will also follow a scent trail that catches his interest to the very end to find the reward.  He would excel at several working dog jobs. All he needs is someone that is willing to put the time in to polish his basic training and keep adding on to it. He can still be reactive to other dogs when they get too close and act aggressive. However, once he gets to know the other dog he will play with them for hours and follow them all over the place. He plays like a very young puppy. In fact, in almost all instances Mayhem behaves like a puppy because he had no training or socialization before he came to MAD.  New people can be introduced fairly easily, especially if a wonderful food treat is given by the new friend. He loves his humans, but not recommended for young children as he really just doesn't realize how fast he can knock someone over.   What Mayhem is looking for is a human that can continue explain the world to him. He needs a strong and kind leader to tell him how to accomplish goals and show him just how amazing he can be. Someone to give him a job that will engage his very smart mind and agile body. It will take some dedication and time, but this dog is worth every minute! #madloveMayhem ##1995990##

Dutch Shepherd

Female, 4 yrs 7 mos

Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)

Good with dogs, Needs special attention, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
After she was given a 72 hour deadline, Asha (formerly Shoshana) was pulled from an Orange County Florida shelter just hours before she would have been euthanized. Local volunteers and a medical foster stepped up to save her life. She was found with a harness embedded in her front leg, which has healed very nicely, and is currently heartworm positive and going through treatment.  Slow introductions with new people and new dogs is a must. But once she warms up to you, she will be your new best friend. She is highly motivated by food, toys, and affection. She stands for bathtime like a champ! She is very cuddly and sweet and always wants to be with her person. She is not a fan of crates, but left unattended is not destructive. She is pretty high energy with no clear off switch until she is tuckered out. She has not been tested with kids and would do best in a home without cats.  Asha is currently working on proper leash manners, and would do best in a home that could give her structure and rules to follow!  All MAD dogs come with a Fi Collar and six month subscription.  If you are interested in adopting this pet please complete an application at this link  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/24689/generic.  *********************************************************************** We are an official 501c3 organization that does not have a physical location.
