We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Story
Meet Lemon!Lemon is a 2 year old, Spayed Female, Dutch Shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix. This brindle beauty is true to the high drive breeds she's made up of! She is active, highly intelligent, and ready to embark on an adventurous lifestyle. She can be reactive to new people and situations, but with a confident human by her side, she should adjust perfectly. A home with experience with her breeds would be an ideal situation for this amazing girl.Lemon is great with other dogs and would adore having an active companion to play with everyday. Lemon needs a home without cats. She will likely do ok with respectful children.Visit our website to fill out the adoption application: https://bit.ly/HSofMacombadoptionapplicationIf your application was approved and you received a call back from the Humane Society of Macomb for a meet and greet, plan to take the animal home that day. We cannot place puppies/dogs on hold to come pick up for another day.All Humane Society of Macomb animals are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, tested and microchipped.Thank you for showing an interest in our pets. We can never guarantee the breeds of the animals. We do not DNA test. Please feel free to call us with any questions.

Story
Finn is a lovable, cuddly Shepherd Beagle mix who loves long walks, playing ball, and sitting in laps. He is 9 years old (exact birthdate unknown). We are heartbroken to have to find him a new home— we adopted him when he was 1.5 and he’s been a wonderful adventure buddy. Unfortunately he does not get along well with kids and now that we have two it’s become too difficult to manage. He deserves a home where he’s not stressed all the time. He’s so loving and affectionate toward adults! He gets along well with our terrier mix but usually needs a little bit of time to adjust with other dogs though he usually comes around! He also has pancreatitis which he’s been on steroids for and that helps. He really is just the sweetest boy!
