Story
Meet Blossom: Your New Best Bud Ready to Bloom! Say hello to Blossom, the medium-sized brindle beauty who's ready to grow and flourish in her forever home! Just like a flower in full bloom, Blossom is vibrant, full of life, and eager to soak up all the love and attention she can get. Blossom is a social butterfly who absolutely loves playing with other dogs. She's also super food motivated, making her a breeze to train-just present a treat, and watch her skills blossom! Whether it's a game of fetch or a tug-of-war, she's always ready for some outdoor fun, and she thrives when she can stretch her legs in a fenced-in backyard. This sweet girl keeps her kennel spotless and loves to be pampered with pets from her friends. While she's still working on her leash manners (sometimes the excitement of the great outdoors gets the best of her), with a little patience and guidance, she's sure to bloom into the perfect walking partner. If you're looking for a loyal companion who's ready to blossom by your side, this lovely lady is ready to put down roots in her new forever home. Are you ready to watch her bloom? I am an All-Star dog! My adoption appointment includes a discussion with our Training Team, and I will go home with my very own no pull-harness and a few enrichment goodies to help get us off to a good start. To learn more about me or to schedule an appointment to meet me, email info@ahconnects.org (please include your name and phone number), and the staff will be happy to help you! I hope to meet you soon! Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (6 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians. Ask fosters@ahconnects.org about fostering Blossom, while she waits for her forever home!

Story
**COURTESY POST** Please call Danielle directly if interested.  847-452-7742 This is Odyn. Odyn is looking for a spiffy new home and someone to call his best friend!  Odyn came from an out of state high kill shelter and we haven’t been able to find a foster or forever home for him in over a year! He has spent most of the past year in a kennel facility and he deserves better. He is about 45lb, maybe 5 years old. We believe him to be a Dutch Shepherd/Pitty mix. He’s gentle and sweet with a little bit of sass. He loves humans and will do anything for a treat. He loves playing fetch with his ball or squeaker. He is a big snuggler and will melt into your lap if you let him. Odyn is very smart and knows most of his basic commands. He loves his crate and goes into his crate on command, does well in the car and on a leash, is potty trained, and does not have destructive habits. He seems fine with other dogs and cats while on a leash or through a fence as shown in the video, but we haven’t been able to successfully introduce him to other animals when he meets them nose to nose and no fence. We could possibly consider homing him with well balanced dogs the same size or smaller if introductions went well, but prefer him to be the only animal in the home. Odyn needs to be in a home with no children because he lacks a bit of confidence and the unpredictable behavior of children could make him nervous. He has not been behavior-tested with children. He would do best with a gentle, but structured human who can help him feel confident and secure, and one who is willing to continue any necessary training needed to build his confidence, if needed. When you meet Odyn, his gentle eyes and sweet demeanor will snatch your heart right out of you. If you can’t commit to adoption, he is in need of a foster home as well! Located Elgin, IL Please inquire today and come meet this deserving boy! Please contact Danielle to 847-452-7742 to meet Odyn ##1294602##

Story
Salem is a 6 year old Dutch Shepard lab mix and has an eagerness to please. She is quick to learn and is fully house, and crate trained. I originally adopted her in September of 2022 but for the past 6 months she has been living with my parents due to a job change and a divorce I was no longer able to care for her. Initially she got along with my parents dog but as of recently there has been tension between the two and my parents feel they can no longer house her. Salem is a lover who is happiest when she is on a walk, playing ball, or receiving belly scratches. She would be great for anyone looking for companionship and is always a joy to come home to. During my time with her she was fully off leash trained with both heeling and recall from out of sight distances.

Story
Meet Carter: Your New Adventure Buddy! Carter is the perfect companion for anyone seeking an active, fun-loving dog. This social butterfly thrives on making new friends-both human and canine-and is always ready for the next adventure! Whether it's a car ride to a scenic hiking spot, splashing in the river, or a game of fetch in the yard, Carter is up for it all. He's becoming quite the expert at socializing with other dogs, especially those his size or larger who are game for a good chase or wrestling match. While he's still refining his communication skills, he's eager to please and is ready to learn with his forever family. Carter dreams of a home with a spacious backyard where he can run, play, and soak up the day. He's house-trained, knows his basic cues, and is just waiting for someone to open their car door and take him on a new journey. Ready for a hiking buddy who's loyal, fun, and full of love? Carter's your guy! Carter's Favorite Things: Chews: I enjoy crunching on my favorite chews in my safe spaces. Outside Time: I love being outside and taking in my environment. Hikes: I enjoy doing a few miles on the trails with my favorite volunteers. Cues That Carter Knows: Sit Down Let's Go! Greeting Manners Carter is an all-star dog, and his adoption appointment includes a discussion with the training team, as well as a few enrichment goodies to help get you both off to a good start. Any adoption inquiries should be directed to the owner at valeriacarrera10@gmail.com. Anderson Humane makes no guarantees regarding medical or behavioral status of this animal, and the current owner is solely responsible for disclosing any challenges or concerns. King is a BIG baby. He loves all the attention and loves to be around people. He is very needy for love and loves to follow you everywhere. He is very smart and knows all the basic commands and even knows how to search if given a smell. He grew around children and a big family. He is very jumpy and does not realize how big he is. He does well with kids. He does not do well with other dogs. He became reactive when he was attacked by another dog. It has been an issue with my other dog and my living situation. He needs someone who can help him overcome those obstacles. He does well home alone and is house trained. He did not know what the cage was until he became reactive with dogs and couldn't be around my other dog. He does well in the crate as well. The reactivity is not bad, he just does not like when dogs approach his way. He does like little dogs and grew up with another German Shepard and a Yorkie. He still continues to live with them. Overall is a good house dog and cuddle buddy. I just want to find a good home for him.
