Story
Meet Elvis, an 11 month old Dutch Shepherd-kelpie mix. Elvis is current on vaccinations, neutered, and is chipped. Dog friendly (cat compatibility unknown at this time) Elvis has been around children making him a great family dog to a loving home. Cochran GA Elvis needs a structured routine where he will be able to learn and thrive. Active home is a must as Elvis has energy to burn. A little note from his foster mom: 'Elvis may be the King come back in puppy form. He has so much energy and has all the burning love to give! Elvis loves to give kisses and a nibble here and there. There is pretty much nothing he won't do for a snack, or a peanut butter and banana sandwich. Elvis enjoys walking on the leash and while he fought with it his first time out, he learned quickly that the leash means sniffs and good times. Elvis just wants to be the center of attention for sure, and the spotlight should definitely be on him' If you can give Elvis the love and attention he deserves please take the next steps in applying. Send us an email inquiry or visit our website to apply.December 16, 2024, 6:00 pm

Story
Yuki is a big a sweet heart and a big bundle of joy. She knows simple commands and gets along well with other dogs. She is big for her size but a huge baby. She is four years old and her birthday is November 13. I am looking for a loving a couple or someone who is genuine in loving her and caring for her as I have. I would like a big backyard for her so she can run around and have all the freedom a dog is meant to have. I just want her to be loved and treated with all the joy in the world

Story
Meet Dandy Dandy is a gorgeous Dutch shepherd mix. She was rescued from a high kill shelter. This beauty is incredible! Dandy is just one year old. She is super sweet, affectionate, friendly and outgoing. She arrived at our shelter just a few days ago and is doing great. Dandy loved meeting our shelter staff and volunteers. She was so happy to see them, and she calmly sat for scratches and gentle pets. Dandy travels well in a car and likes going places. Dandy is a bigger girl at 60lbs. She is energetic and would do well with an active family or person. She loves walks/hikes, likes to run in a fenced yard, she might even enjoy dog parks or doggie daycare. She loves other dogs and plays very well. She can be submissive if she’s feeling overwhelmed by other dogs. Dandy is sensitive and very smart. She is a gentle soul. Dandy had so many advocates trying to get her to safety and we can see why. She is amazing. It’s so hard to understand how a dog like Dandy finds herself homeless, but the family or person who adopt her will be getting a gem. Dandy will be spayed before going home. If interested in Dandy, please submit an application online at: www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org. Please email our shelter (smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net) or call our shelter at 706-865-4135 and leave a message to make sure we received your application. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
