Story
Lovingly known as Tiny Toby, this once scraggly, starving boy is tiny no more! Toby was found hairless and wandering the streets of the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) in search of food. Though initially cautious of humans, he allowed a kind woman to load him into her car. Unfortunately, she could only hold him for one day and urgently needed help. We stepped in, and Toby has since blossomed into one of the most stunning dogs! With his gorgeous brindle coat and gentle, kind demeanor, he’s a true transformation story. Now living in Virginia, Toby spends his days wrestling and napping with his big foster sister, running around in the yard, playing fetch, and snuggling on the couch. Toby is astute and proves to be an excellent guard dog. He is curious about cats and will need additional training before being fully cat-cleared. He’s still learning to walk confidently on a leash but is highly treat-motivated, making training a breeze. While Toby is an overall joy, he does have his dislikes—he’s not a fan of the crate, the vacuum, or bubbles! If you’re looking for a gentle, beautiful companion who will bring so much love to your home, Toby might just be the perfect match. Could he be the one for you?

Story
Annie is a gorgeous 3-year-old female Dutch Shepherd mix. She is a very happy, sensitive, smart, and energetic dog. Annie is house trained. She knows the commands sir, lay down and stay. She walks fairly well on leash, she may pull a bit if there is a squirrel to investigate. She usually enjoys a good run at the dog park then she sleeps for the rest of the day. Annie is great with the 1, 2, and 5-year-old children she loves with. She is dog-selective but can be great with other dogs who are more submissive. Annie does have a high prey drive, so she shouldn't be with cars or small dogs. Annie is a very sweet dog who loves to cuddle and loves belly rubs. She does not bark unless she hears something suspicious outside. Annie does need a good fenced in yard or she will try to get out and find neighborhood buddies to play with. Annie would make a really wonderful companion and hiking dog. She weighs 75 pounds and is full grown. She is microchipped. Meet and greets are by appointment only with approved applicants. Adoption fee is waved but the application process is not. We believe you can always teach an ‘old’ dog new tricks so we highly recommend continued obedience training for this smart pup; it stimulates the dog's mind and establishes a good dog/adopter relationship. This pup, like all pups should be on heartworm preventative, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption form, downloadable from our website: https://www.lastchanceanimalrescue.org/adoption-request-form/ and return it per instructions. Story
*Needs new home immediately* Dingo is high energy, very intelligent, and a loyal companion. He does not seem to understand social cues from other dogs. This is the primary reason we are rehoming. He has taken obedience classes and understands sit, down (lay down), stay (lay down position), and focus. He is currently prescribed a flea and tick monthly chewable.

Story
Rex is one of those happy go lucky, loveable German Shepherds that is a rare offering in the rescue world.  A two year old, 75 pound young dog that is a victim of divorce.  Like children, he is having to adjust to a new lifestyle and he must be rehomed due to his dad moving in with parents who are already at their limit for dogs. Everyone is heartbroken. Rex loves everyone and is good with cats, other dogs and adores meeting new people. He is housebroken, crate trained and not a nervous nelly like some Shepherds can be.  He is still growing and can stand to add a few more muscular pounds as he becomes a more mature adult dog.  Broken hearted is what his owner will be when he goes  but Critter Cavalry Rescue has promised to find the perfect Shepherd savvy home for him with a fenced yard, and someone with the time and stability to give this boy all he deserves in life.  Rex is an eager and easy student to train to be a family’s “everything” dog.  Please know this breed before asking to adopt.  They are dogs that cannot be ignored and left alone for 10 hours a day.  They love challenges that are both mental and physical.  Rex is a love of a dog, with no aggressive tendencies at all but he needs to know boundaries and you MUST BE A LEADER to him.  He will pace at first in a new environment because that is what GSD breeds do.  Change is tough on their intelligent heart and soul.  He is a true treasure for his breed.  If interested, please contact us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 10, 2025, 1:49 pm

Story
Tessa is looking for their forever home! WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS: Are you looking for a gorgeous shepherd working breed dog? Look no further than Tessa! Tessa originally lived with a family in a townhouse in Alexandria. Unfortunately, due to their limited space and inability to provide her with adequate exercise during her early years, she developed significant pent-up energy and struggled with reactivity, particularly toward other dogs. Tessa has been through a formal training program with one of our trusted trainers, and is now looking for an adopter who can take over her management tools, exercise routines, and structured training. Tessa deserves a family that she will be able to share a lifetime of happiness with. With the help of her training, she has been successful in playing with other dogs after proper, slow introductions. However, we would recommend that she be the only dog in the home. Tessa is bright, beautiful, and oh-so fun to work with. If you're interested in meeting Tessa, or learning more about her, please don't hesitate to reach out! ATTRIBUTES: Tessa would do well as the only dog in the home. Tessa does well with other dogs outside of the home. —------------- Laila’s Legacy Animal Rescue does not guarantee that any dog is housebroken nor crate trained. We strive to provide accurate information on all of our animals however, we are unable to guarantee an animal’s breed, size, health, behavior, temperament, or any other conditions. Our adoption fees are not inclusive of all vetting / medical care, food, supplies and/or training costs. Since we rely on donations to compensate for those deficits we are unable to reduce or refund this fee. TO ADOPT OR FOSTER: Please apply on our website at www.lailaslegacyanimalrescue.org or email info@lailaslegacyanimalrescue.org if you have questions! TO DONATE: Please consider making a donation on our website at www.lailaslegacyanimalrescue.org so that Laila’s Legacy can continue to provide lifesaving medical treatment and training.
