Story
Jack is a loving and smart boy! He survived being hit by a car, suffering two broken legs, but is the fastest little man you know. He enjoys life to the fullest playing and running in the yard with his foster family including their 3 dogs & 2 kids. He is receiving physical therapy as well as adequan therapy, and both his legs are gaining mobility, he may never have full use of his back legs, but he gets around so well already and still has therapy to undergo! He is a dog that will need some special care for a bit, but he will repay with loving kisses and cuddles. He is very smart and easy to manage. We would love for someone to foster to adopt him, so they can fall in love, or an adoption if you're sure he's a fit! Jack is house trained, has a microchip already, is fixed, fully vaccinated and has his adequan and physical therapy covered through yoga animals rescue foundation! If you're looking for a special life guy to brighten up your day Jack is your boy!October 10, 2024, 12:17 am

Story
Savoring his second chance at forever is sweet and social 7-year-old Spud. The 35-pound brindle beauty, so lean and so leggy, loves playing with his doggy foster friends both indoors and outside, where he’s just discovered the joy of romping about in the snow! Good-natured, easygoing and mellow, Spud, who could easily exist on a steady diet of affection from his foster parents, loves having his head scratched, and eagerly offers them his paw to ask for more loving. (Especially enamored of his foster dad, he follows him wherever he goes and sleeps next to him all night). Best walked with a harness and leash, Spud enjoys engaging with children ten years and older, loves chewing bones and eating any and all food and treats. Motivated by love and food, he currently knows “come,” “sit” and “shake,” is never crated, almost fully house-trained, and learning that surfing counters is a “no-no.” Now all this most sociable of sweethearts needs are adoring adopters who will polish his manners, complete his training, including his commands, and ensure that this time LOVE truly is fur-ever.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! Story
Happy is one of those types of dogs that continues to view life as the glass half full. This pup joined MHCR a couple months ago at around 6-7 months of age. She found herself on death row in Texas at a high intake/high kill shelter. Once Happy got settled into foster care, it became very apparent she had sustained quite a bit of trauma in her life prior to rescue. Happy sustained a traumatic injury to her back leg as a young pup that had fully healed before she got to us. This injury possibly involved the growth plate, which has resulted in the leg being a little bit shorter than her other leg. Luckily, the orthopedic surgeons she has seen feel she is just about fully grown so this leg shouldn’t pose too large of a problem. After she had settled in for a couple of weeks, we noticed she was painful and limping on her front legs. More work up revealed she had a fractured coronoid process. What the heck is that? It’s a tiny little piece of the elbow. Happy had surgery for this and she’s recovering beautifully! Happy has many shepherd-like characteristics and the brindle in her coat lead us to believe she is a Dutch Shepherd mix. She’s very smart, eager to please, affectionate, and loyal. Happy is petite at 42 lbs! She rides beautifully in the car, eats her meals in her crate, is house trained and enjoys days at the office with her foster mom. Happy is dog friendly after a proper intro. She particularly likes the Belgian Malinois she’s in foster with. She’s best suited with a derpy, playful, confident personality type canine companion. However, she’d be perfectly content as an only dog, as well. Happy LOVES stuffie toys and will blissfully surround herself with her favorites and quietly entertain herself. Due to her orthopedic issues since joining our care, Happy hasn’t spent much time mastering her leash skills. Happy is in foster in Fort Collins, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/happy You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. AdoptaGSD.org   Please consider that some of these dogs have been abandoned or ignored by their previous owners, having little interaction with someone who cares about them. When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life. Hi, my name is Winnie, and I'm a beautiful three year old female Dutch Shepherd who was recently returned to FRGSR after I was left unsupervised for long periods of time, and I managed to get into mischief with the neighbors' dogs and chickens. Since returning to my former foster home, I've fallen back into my old routine of playing with the resident male Malinois, going for long walks and cuddling with my humans. While on walks, my foster mom and dad have not observed me to be inappropriate around other dogs or people. My breed is a working breed, and I need a strong leader who will provide me with clear boundaries and both daily mental and physical stimulation. I need to know what my job is and I would prefer to have an adopter who isn't gone all day. I'm crate trained and I walk beautifully on leash, but I also wouldn't mind being someone's running partner. In my foster home, I'm relaxed and friendly because I know they are my leaders and I focus on being a dog. I love to play in the snow with my foster brother! I can get a little possessive of my toys and my foster parents are working on this. If you feel you can meet my needs, please submit an online application at adoptagsd.org. My adoption fee is $400.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Although we do our best to keep our adoptable animals page as current as possible, the animals you see may already be in an adoption process.   December 7, 2024, 7:01 pm

Story
Timber is excited to spend his retirement years as your one and only! He can be insecure around new dogs, so HSBV is requiring he be the only pet in his new home. He adores his people and greets them with a smile and wiggle. Due to his tender personality, HSBV will only rehome him to a family with children aged 10 and older. Come meet this lovely boy today!
