Story
Lucille is a 4-year female Dutch Shepherd mix, about 70 pounds, and might just be the softest dog in the world! She loves to cuddle with her humans, shred cardboard boxes, and play with hoses. She's sweet, loyal, and affectionate, though can be shy at first with new people. Once she warms up to you, she is so loving and appreciates spending quality time together. Lucille thrives in a household with structure and routine and is used to being left at home while her humans are at work, etc. She is smart, learns quickly, is housebroken, leash-trained, has some crate training, and knows basic commands (sit, stay, down, touch, leave it, paw, come, place). Lucille likes long walks but is not high-energy. She has anxiety that is well-managed with a daily established medication regimen. She will do best being the single pet in a household, which is the only reason why she needs a new home that is a better fit for her. We will discuss subsidizing some meds and potential training with applicants.

Max, neutered male, 1-year-old, 38-lbs If you would like to give Max a forever home, please contact abetterchancerescue@gmail.com OR log onto abetterchancerescue.org to fill out online application Meet Max! Max is a mellow and cheerful young pup with loving nature. He is close to humans, always greet people with a big smile and non-stop wagging tail and hip. He is super smart and aimed to please, so is easy to train. Around the house he obeys rules, has good judgement, and good self-discipline. He waits patiently before eating his food, before going thru doorways, and when getting in and out of the car. He checks-in often with his human, sitting very still and gazing up politely. He loves the head/tummy rubs and cuddling that follows. He loves to eat and gets excited before taking a walk, but will heed to command well. Max is crate trained to sleep overnight and potty trained to go outside. His favorite pastime is his daily walks, and romping around with doggie friends in the park. Please watch his videos below to learn more about this goofy boy! About Max’ rescue: Max was one of the lucky TNR (trap/neuter/release) shelter dogs that was bailed out by the rescuer before his scheduled release date. Story
Hi, I'm Freddy! I'm a super sweet and gentle Shepherd mix pup. I would thrive in a loving home with a patient understanding and person/family. With the right touch I can blossom into the confident boy I was meant to be! Freddy's foster had this to say, "Freddy really blossomed outside of the shelter environment! While always on the shy side around people at the shelter, at home he just wanted to be near us and loved getting some extra rubs. He was happy to lounge around and snooze, but also found time to be curious and try out some new toys. He's also a quiet soul - he was calm and curious when someone came to the door, not a peep! And only made a few barks when he was letting us know he was ready to play. At night he was a perfectly behaved snuggle bud, sleeping in bed until it was time to get up in the morning. Freddy really thrived and was such a loving boy outside of the extra noise and action in the shelter environment."My adoption fee covers the cost of my neuter, microchip, and all my vaccinations, including rabies. https://www.hsnb.org/adoption-applicationIf you do not receive an email confirmation from us, please email adoptions@hsnb.org for assistance.See you soon! 💕 Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: Black Weight: 61 Age: 3yrs 6mths 1wks

Story
Hello there, I'm Lady. I'm one of several beautiful German Shepherds here at HSNB, weighing in at about 65 lbs.I have been in foster for and I love my humans, and my foster doggy sibling. We walk together, play together and sleep together without issue (sometimes we both take over the bed and humans wake up stiff from sleeping funny - oops). Cats - not so keen as my instinct is to chase.I am a shy girl and strangers can be scary but if you come in slowly and give me a couple minutes I will soon be snuggling up for pets (I am also super soft). I am potty trained, dog door trained, a lap stealer and a bit of a toy hog. I warn the humans of stranger danger so you will never be surprised by someone coming to the house. I would thrive best with someone that helps me to feel safe and is patient with me and maybe has a dog already that I can play with. I have a lot of love to give. Please come and meet me!My $150 adoption fee means I will come to your home spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all my vaccines. Please visit HSNB.org to complete an adoption interest application found in our bio. Hope to see you soon! You should receive a confirmation email from HSNB if your application was successfully submitted. If you do not receive confirmation from us, please email adoptions@hsnb.org for assistance.See you soon! 💕 Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 64.375 Age: 2yrs 11mths 3wks

Story
Indy embodies the true spirit of a German Shepherd - loyal, loving, and full of energy! He's the perfect companion for active owners who enjoy long walks and playing fetch. Indy is slow to trust people, likely due to his life before the shelter, but once he does, he's loving and affectionate. While he hasn't been tested with cats, he does well with other dogs when properly introduced. Indy would do best in a breed-experienced home with a large yard for him to play in.Indy's adoption fee helps cover his neuter, vaccinations, and microchip. Are you ready to welcome this loving and energetic companion into your life? Adopt Indy today and experience the joy of having a loyal furry friend!Head over to our website at https://www.hsnb.org/dog-adoption-application/ to fill out an adoption application and start the journey to forever happiness with Indy by your side!
