Kinzie is the spunkiest, smartest, most energetic girl! She spent most of her life in the shelter but thanks to CBR saving her you wouldn’t even know it. She’s so intelligent, even just one training session with her she picks up so much! Her leash skills are great, she loves her crate, and is fully potty trained! Kinzie loves being outside, and would do great in an active home wanting to walk, run, or hike daily. She can be a little shy at first with new people, but feed her a treat and she warms up quickly. She’s fiercely loyal to her people and loves to please them. She loves affection and will do anything to earn your touch! She’s working on her jumping, so would probably be best in a home with adults only or older children. Kinzie is the sweetest girl and would love to be a part of your home!

Obie (short for Old Boy) is a sweet old boy looking for a comfy couch to call his own. He has a beautiful fluffy coat that he enjoys a nice brushing of. Obie is a quiet and dignified couch potato. He is fine with everyone but particularly loves men. He loves ear scratches and a nice snooze. Obie is currently on medication for seizures. He takes this medication twice a day and it has greatly reduced his occurrence of seizures. He takes his medications easily if hidden in cream cheese, sour cream or yogurt. Obie is house trained with a doggie door right now. He enjoys spending his afternoons outside relaxing. He can be scared by loud things like fireworks but has done well with CBD as needed for this very specific anxiety. Obie does not really care for treats or toys. Treats he has enjoyed for training include lamb roast, mashed potatoes and eggs. He thinks vegetables are yucky. He seems to have been new to dog food but has taken to it well with some patience. Obie previously lived with another large dog and got along well with her. She would even snap at him sometimes and he would not really react. He simply wanted to be her friend. We also believe Obie will be fine with mannerly children. He has met toddlers and takes care to not knock them over. When meeting cats indoors, Obie was excited but did not necessarily exhibit high prey drive. He allowed his foster mom to call him back as she removed the cat. When he sees cats outdoors he like to try to chase them, though this is true of most dogs (even those that live with cats). Bentley is a 1.5-year old male Dutch Shepherd mix youngster (most likely Belgian Malinois) who was picked up as a stray by Stanislaus Animal Services. This poor puppy was so traumatized at the time of intake, but is now safe with rescue in a wonderful foster home, where he can decompress and begin to feel safe and loved. Bentley is a sweet little boy, and didn’t hesitate to come to our volunteer upon first greeting. He is now fully crate trained, and does well with other dogs. Initially, he was very shy when meeting other dogs, but has become a pretty confident pup, and loves to run and play. His first night in his foster home, he slept in his crate all night with no issues. He loves his people and at times wants to be right next to you, waiting for pets and lovin. Bentley will require a committed and loving human who will make him a part of the family, providing the care and attention that every young pup needs. Only older dog-savvy children 8 and above in an adoptive home will be considered. It will be necessary for an adopter to have recent successful experience in raising a GSD, Belgian Malinois, Dutch Shepherd, or other large breed working puppy. An adopter who will begin and continue his obedience training based upon positive reinforcement is recommended, including positive steps to discourage unwanted behavior, to ensure he remains on the path of a well-behaved canine companion. I know how to “Sit” and go “Down” and I’m now working hard on “Stay” (impressive, huh? 🥇). I walk nicely on the leash, though I’m still perfecting my skills when something exciting catches my attention. But don’t you worry—I’m learning to "Come Back," so I can be right by your side, sitting pretty and waiting for a treat. I’d love to keep practicing what I know and learn new tricks when I come home with you! 🐾 Hi there! I’m Maverick, the marvelous sidekick you’ve been searching for!🐾 I’m a handsome show-stopping male German Shepherd mix, who is around 2 yrs old and weighs about 65 lbs. I have an extra soft and shiny tan and black coat, golden brown eyes, and the cutest boopable nose (with a hint of pink). You won’t be able to resist giving me a back (or belly) rub, and I’ll make it easy for you by trying to give YOU a hug or flopping over on my back! You may recognize my name from the movie “Top Gun,” and just like the Maverick in the movie, I’m handsome and adventurous with a whole lotta love to give! 😊 A pawfect day for me starts with some fresh air with my volunteer pal. I can get quite excited when I’m being taken out and may jump up to show how happy I am, but I listen well when I’m told “off.” Once we’re outdoors, I can’t help but smile ear to ear! Whether I’m playing with my favorite green squeaky ball, learning new commands, or enjoying relaxing back and belly rubs—I just can’t get enough! I have learned how to “sit,” go “down,” and I’m currently working on “come back.” I also can fetch and bring back my toy to my volunteer buddy so we can enjoy all the squeakiness together! 😊 I’m very treat motivated and take them gently. Jerky treats, crunchy treats, chicken treats—any and all of the above are approved by me! They’re even tastier after I worked hard to earn them!
