Story
Lucille is a 4-year female Dutch Shepherd mix, about 70 pounds, and might just be the softest dog in the world! She loves to cuddle with her humans, shred cardboard boxes, and play with hoses. She's sweet, loyal, and affectionate, though can be shy at first with new people. Once she warms up to you, she is so loving and appreciates spending quality time together. Lucille thrives in a household with structure and routine and is used to being left at home while her humans are at work, etc. She is smart, learns quickly, is housebroken, leash-trained, has some crate training, and knows basic commands (sit, stay, down, touch, leave it, paw, come, place). Lucille likes long walks but is not high-energy. She has anxiety that is well-managed with a daily established medication regimen. She will do best being the single pet in a household, which is the only reason why she needs a new home that is a better fit for her. We will discuss subsidizing some meds and potential training with applicants.

Athena is the sweetest girl. Has never shown aggression, great with children and other animals, loves bones and food. Would do perfect with a family. I just unfortunately no longer have time to take care of this sweet girl. She is 9 months, fully vaxxed, spayed, microchipped. I will give vaccine history upon adoption.

Story
We bought Kona from a breeder in December 2020. He was born on September 2020 so he's 4 years old now. Kona has the biggest of energies and absolutely loves to play fetch and run in a big open field. We are looking for someone who is relatively active and can walk him several times a day. He had 6 months of off-leash training back in 2021, but he didn't retain much as my dad (owner) did not reinforce his commands. He is not very affectionate when it comes to petting, but is super playful with his toys and can get quite rambunctious. Not only that, but he is quite athletic and hyperactive, so he just needs an equally active owner to shed all his energy off at the end of the day.

Hello! My ex-wife and I adopted Brisket from Front Street Animal Shelter in Sacramento when she was under a year old. She's 5 now and the shelter believes she's a Dutch Shepherd mix. She's fully house-trained, has never had an accident, and doesn’t destroy anything except her toys. Brisket is generally good with people but can get anxious in loud environments (parties, live music, construction) and has nipped at someone before. She barks at outside noises or deliveries with a deep bark, but stops after a few seconds. At home, she’s okay with other dogs as long as they don’t bother her; if they do, she’ll growl or slap them. She also has some leash aggression when approaching other dogs during walks. Brisket is very loving but has always been a bit fearful, though she’s improved over time. She’d likely do best in a calm home with someone who enjoys playing and cuddling.

When Lou's current guardians first met their beloved rescue pup, she was anxious and terrified, especially around other dogs due to her special needs. Lou's rear paws were amputated as a puppy, under unknown circumstances. Over the past year, with a lot of love and care, Lou has transformed into a happy, relaxed, confident, and deeply loving companion. She is alert, playful, sweet, eager to please, and a quick learner!Lou is a ~2.5-year-old German Shepherd who weighs 60 lbs. She is up to date on all her shots, fully house trained, spayed, and crate trained. She walks short distances independently and is speedier and more athletically coordinated than you might expect! Lou goes to the bathroom like any ordinary dog, with no assistance required. She needs a bit of rear-end support to climb stairs and is intrepidly learning to cruise in her wheels.Unfortunately, Lou has never become comfortable with the large resident dog, and her guardians cannot give either one the attention they deserve. Lou would love to be the only dog in her forever home but could do well with small dogs with a slow introductory period.To help ease the transition into Lou’s forever home, her current guardians will provide a one-month food supply, her favorite toys (new), a crate, two sets of clean bedding, an onboarding session with a dog behaviorist, wheels and accessories, and an introduction to Silverado Veterinary Hospital where Lou is a registered patient. Hi I'm Checkers.  Check me out! I am a 3 year old German Shepherd, and quite a handsome boy if I do say so myself.  I like to play with my kong and go on leisurely walks.  I love people, and am very affectionate and loyal. My foster mom says I am a really good boy and so easy to have around.  I would really like to have my own family to hang out with.  I don't mind being left alone while you are at work, and I am completely house trained. I know how to sit and I walk well on a leash, but I don't like kitties.
