Story
A sweet, shy young dog. She will benefit from a patient adopter with a quiet home who will help her build confidence. Callista came to our shelter very shy and shutdown.  But with the help of caring staff, volunteers, and playgroup dogs, this little girl is coming out of her shell and showing us her true cute personality.  She`s still shy meeting new dogs but she`s making quick progress.  She`s also sharing her shelter suite with a friend she met at the shelter.    Looking for a buddy for your dog?  Bring him/her to the shelter for a meet and greet and see if we`re a match!  Check out her playgroup video here:To meet me, visit the Bradshaw Animal Shelter Tuesday-Sunday, Noon - 5:00 pm, Wednesdays, Noon - 6:00 pm. All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To help expedite the meet and greet process, please make note of my Animal ID number, and those of other dogs you might be interested in meeting. Be sure to bring your ID with you, too. We are located at 3839 Bradshaw Road, Sacramento. I look forward to getting to know you!

Story
Hello! My ex-wife and I adopted Brisket from Front Street Animal Shelter in Sacramento when she was under a year old. She's 5 now and the shelter believes she's a Dutch Shepherd mix. She's fully house-trained, has never had an accident, and doesn’t destroy anything except her toys. Brisket is generally good with people but can get anxious in loud environments (parties, live music, construction) and has nipped at someone before. She barks at outside noises or deliveries with a deep bark, but stops after a few seconds. At home, she’s okay with other dogs as long as they don’t bother her; if they do, she’ll growl or slap them. She also has some leash aggression when approaching other dogs during walks. Brisket is very loving but has always been a bit fearful, though she’s improved over time. She’d likely do best in a calm home with someone who enjoys playing and cuddling.

Story
We bought Kona from a breeder in December 2020. He was born on September 2020 so he's 4 years old now. Kona has the biggest of energies and absolutely loves to play fetch and run in a big open field. We are looking for someone who is relatively active and can walk him several times a day. He had 6 months of off-leash training back in 2021, but he didn't retain much as my dad (owner) did not reinforce his commands. He is not very affectionate when it comes to petting, but is super playful with his toys and can get quite rambunctious. Not only that, but he is quite athletic and hyperactive, so he just needs an equally active owner to shed all his energy off at the end of the day.

Story
Maximus (Max or Maxi or Maxipoo) is a beautiful German Shepherd dog, he will almost be 8 years old in Oct 2024, but is still a puppy. He is a big cuddle bug. We adopted Max when he was 18 months old from a family who was going to move to a other state and would have given him away in a shelter, since then Max has been with us for more than 6 years. We want a dedicated family who has experience with German Shepherd dogs and understands doggie body language. Max will need some walks and some regular play time. With proper introduction he does well with the family and close friends only, he is uncomfortable with other dogs right away, but will need a lot of meet-n-greets with other dogs and family friends and once he gets to know them better does really well. Unfortunately my eldest child started developing severe allergies, hence we have taken this heartbreaking decision of rehoming our dog.

Story
Maximus aka Max, is a beautiful German Shepherd male dog, he is 8 yr old and is 85-90lb. He has been neutered and is loyal, protective and affectionate. Max always alert-barks, whether he sees new people or any other unfamiliar sound. He needs proper introduction with friends and other extended folks, once gets acquainted he is a big lap dog. He loves his walks. Max is good with the children as he lives with them, ages 5 & 2 yrs old. He is OK with other dogs, but is on the timid side. He does OK with other small dogs as well. We haven't introduced him to cats or other animals yet. He is housetrained and does well when left in the house alone, goes well with 6-8 hours all by himself. He likes to sleeps on his large bed at night. Max had received his formal obedience training when he was 18-20 months old. He knows all basic commands, very food oriented, he enjoys playing fetch, hide & seek, and squeaky toys. He is not a fan of water, and will take a dip but not so much of a swimmer.
