Lucille is a 4-year female Dutch Shepherd mix, about 70 pounds, and might just be the softest dog in the world! She loves to cuddle with her humans, shred cardboard boxes, and play with hoses. She's sweet, loyal, and affectionate, though can be shy at first with new people. Once she warms up to you, she is so loving and appreciates spending quality time together. Lucille thrives in a household with structure and routine and is used to being left at home while her humans are at work, etc. She is smart, learns quickly, is housebroken, leash-trained, has some crate training, and knows basic commands (sit, stay, down, touch, leave it, paw, come, place). Lucille likes long walks but is not high-energy. She has anxiety that is well-managed with a daily established medication regimen. She will do best being the single pet in a household, which is the only reason why she needs a new home that is a better fit for her. We will discuss subsidizing some meds and potential training with applicants.

Max is a mellow and cheerful young pup with loving nature. He is close to humans, always greet people with a big smile and non-stop wagging tail and hip. He is super smart and aimed to please, so is easy to train. Around the house he obeys rules, has good judgement, and good self-discipline. He waits patiently before eating his food, before going thru doorways, and when getting in and out of the car. He checks-in often with his human, sitting very still and gazing up politely. He loves the head/tummy rubs and cuddling that follows. He loves to eat and gets excited before taking a walk, but will heed to command well. Max is crate trained to sleep overnight and potty trained to go outside. His favorite pastime is his daily walks, and romping around with doggie friends in the park. Story

Obie (short for Old Boy) is a sweet old boy looking for a comfy couch to call his own. He has a beautiful fluffy coat that he enjoys a nice brushing of. Obie is a quiet and dignified couch potato. He is fine with everyone but particularly loves men. He loves ear scratches and a nice snooze. Obie is currently on medication for seizures. He takes this medication twice a day and it has greatly reduced his occurrence of seizures. He takes his medications easily if hidden in cream cheese, sour cream or yogurt. Obie is house trained with a doggie door right now. He enjoys spending his afternoons outside relaxing. He can be scared by loud things like fireworks but has done well with CBD as needed for this very specific anxiety. Obie does not really care for treats or toys. Treats he has enjoyed for training include lamb roast, mashed potatoes and eggs. He thinks vegetables are yucky. He seems to have been new to dog food but has taken to it well with some patience. Obie previously lived with another large dog and got along well with her. She would even snap at him sometimes and he would not really react. He simply wanted to be her friend. We also believe Obie will be fine with mannerly children. He has met toddlers and takes care to not knock them over. When meeting cats indoors, Obie was excited but did not necessarily exhibit high prey drive. He allowed his foster mom to call him back as she removed the cat. When he sees cats outdoors he like to try to chase them, though this is true of most dogs (even those that live with cats). Bella has always been an amazing dog, great with people & kids, great listener & easy to train, however, I adopted Bella during quarantine & I had a lot of time on my hands back then but now I am super busy with work & unable to give her the life she deserves. We are also expecting a baby in the new years & we know it’s in her best interest to find her a family that will have all the time In the world for her. She has been around my little siblings her whole life (4 & 7 years old) & has always showed love for them. Bella stays true to her breed & can also be protective of her owners when needed. She is the most loyal dog I’ve ever had & very playful. She is up to date with all her vaccines & shots. There will be a small rehoming fee to insure she goes to the right home & the new owners are committed to her. Along with adopting Bella, you will also receive everything you may need when she goes to a new home. (Kennel, baskets of toys/treats, food, collars, etc.)

I adopted Queenie 2 years ago for my son from the Martinez Shelter. At the time I did not understand what Queenie’s need were or her history. They disclosed it to me while I already had her in hand and was signing paperwork. A little too late then. I have done my best to work with her and she is a REALLY good dog but I can’t provide for her what she needs. Queenie is a guard dog. She alerts when anyone is near the front door. If she picks you she will be 3 inches from you at all times. She herds with her nose and will direct you with her nose. She's is leash aggressive and does not like other dogs. She has never bit anyone or animal in my care. I can bathe her and sometimes cut her nails and she can go to the groomers sometimes but not all. She gets separation anxiety and needs lots of attention and exercise- I can’t give her these things. She is potty trained and crate trained. She is an excellent listener except she will want to get on the coach or bed no matter what.

She is great in her crate Looks forward to her daily walk and will sit right in front of me when I’m at my leash bar to hook up. Pretty brave with all surroundings when walking would make a great jogging partner. She loves being inside as much as outdoors. She absolutly loves being brushed!! Our adoption process includes an initial conversation about the dog to see if the dog is a good match or if another dog could be a more suitable match. We also will complete a home visit.
