Bandit von Brandis is a delightful, 8-9 month-old German/Dutch Shepherd mix (best guess). The best way to describe Bandit is “the life of the party.” He always attracts a crowd wherever he goes with his good looks and social demeanor and thrives when he’s around his humans or furry friends. There are so many sides to Bandit, too, and we love them all. He can go from being the goofiest pup in playgroups to being a studious learner as he grasps new leash manners or other commands, like “stay.” He’s happiest when he’s in his playgroup, running around with his friends, he'd be a great play buddy for another active dog (but no kitties please). Bandit lost his prior home due to a move, they described a happy boy and said he's housebroken. We can’t recommend Bandit enough, especially to an active person or family. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.

Alfie is a very handsome 1 yr/62 pound shepherd mix. He came into a local shelter with a badly broken front leg that could not be saved, so he is now a stunning looking tripod! He lives in a foster home with both large and small dogs and loves his canine friends. He is VERY easy to introduce to new dogs. He is shy with new people but super loving and goofy once you know him and it does not take long to win his trust. He is house trained and crate trained so ready to find a wonderful home! BONDED MOTHER AND DAUGHTER PAIR: MUST BE ADOPTED TOGETHER.Say hello to mother/daughter duo Sasha (brunette, younger) and Mila (blonde, older). These gorgeous Shepherds are a bonded pair and ton of fun. Two volunteers took them out for a day hike in Griffith Park and everyone had a fantastic time!!! Mila likes to lead the pack when do our Happy Tails group hikes, so when other dogs came near, she wanted to follow them so she could take the lead. (Nothing aggressive, she just wants to be in front.) We distracted her with some treats and she quickly became more interested in snacking than leading. Sasha was a true mama`s girl. She stayed close by Mila and was very good with other dogs. Mila and Sasha *loved* relaxing on the grass, and the crows in the trees were especially fascinating to Mila. They were both very alert to people and other dogs walking around, but were very well behaved. They also went to Starbucks for their first puppuccino and boy did they love it!Mila and Sasha are very smart and food motivated so training will be easy. Their adoption comes with a free month of training from GoodPup.com to ease them into her new home and help them bond with their new family.Their Shepard nature means they want to be where you are and make your life fun and interesting. Yes- 2 big dogs is a lot of dog, but this bonded pair is so in sync that its not overwhelming. They are a source of laughter and playfulness and activity- all they want from you is a safe space, consistency, love and regular long walks/hikes/play sessions. If you can offer that and are ready to vacuum a lot (it’s a lot of fur- we won’t lie) then this dynamic duo is ready for you.
