Story
Meet Mercy, the youngest senior tuxie in the Northeast! She's playful, curious, and quite energetic for an 11-year-old cat. She likes to chase spring toys, foil balls, and toy mice, but nothing gets her running faster than her favorite crunchy treat tossed across the room. She also enjoys "killing" a good feather toy. She has a great appetite, eats wet food and kibble, and looks forward to her three meals a day. Mercy requires an understanding adopter with a strong knowledge of and respect for cat behavior and their unique body language. Because she was declawed and mishandled when she was young, she can get overstimulated more quickly than most cats. She needs someone who wants her despite being declawed, not because she's declawed. Her ideal home is a calm, quiet environment without children, where she is the only pet in the household for the rest of her life. Building a meaningful relationship with Mercy will take some time and understanding, but the reward is highly gratifying. Her foster mom has a great relationship with her because she listens to Mercy and lets her decide when she wants to be touched and when she needs to be left alone. She thrives on a consistent routine and uses the litter box perfectly. She will go to her forever home with all her things- litter box, carrier, cat bed, and her most prized possession- her brush. Her sweet side is heartwarming- she enjoys daily snuggle sessions with her foster mom. She is a great work companion and will sit beside you quietly, enjoying your company. She is spayed, microchipped, FIV/FeLV negative, and current on vaccines. If you want to give Mercy the loving home she deserves, please fill out an application at queencitycatsvt.org/adopt.

Story
Meet Melissa, a gentle and petite 6-year-old girl with a heart of gold. This quiet and polite kitty has faced significant challenges in her life. She lost her elderly owner and then had to endure her home being turned into a scary place by bad people. Now, slowly but surely, she is learning to trust again and is ready to find her forever family. Melissa enjoys the serene environment of being an office cat, where she can quietly observe her surroundings and receive gentle pets from kind-hearted humans. She appreciates passive companionship and is gradually warming up to new people. With time and patience, she may become more outgoing as she lets her guard down completely. In her downtime, Melissa loves watching "cat TV," indulging in a bit of catnip, and savoring Fancy Feast Gravy Lovers. She dreams of a calm and stable home where she can feel safe and loved, surrounded by caring individuals who understand her quiet nature. If you're looking for a companion who will appreciate your gentle touch and provide quiet companionship in return, Melissa could be the perfect match for you. Open your heart and home to this sweet soul, and watch as she blossoms into the loving companion she was always meant to be. Sesame: The Charismatic Gentleman of the Cat World In the bustling world of feline companionship, Sesame is a standout character with a blend of charm and sophistication. Picture this: a cat whose presence commands attention, with a handsome demeanor that’s nothing short of striking. Sesame’s head may be on the grander side, but it only accentuates his distinguished air—he’s a gentleman through and through. Recently neutered, Sesame transitioned into his foster home with the ease of a seasoned pro. His exploratory spirit and innate comfort in his surroundings speak to his adaptability and confidence. Raised from the tender age of four weeks by his previous owner, he’s seasoned yet ever so personable—a cat who knows how to make himself at home. Sesame is the epitome of feline charisma. His playful nature is matched only by his intelligence; he reads people with a perceptiveness that’s almost uncanny. While he might offer a little nip when overstimulated—an endearing quirk rather than a flaw—this is merely a sign of his expressive personality. For those seeking a quiet companion who appreciates the finer points of company, Sesame's ideal match is someone who can deftly interpret the subtleties of kitty body language. His gentle demeanor and affectionate nature promise to enrich the life of an adult who values both companionship and the occasional game of cat and mouse. In Sesame, you’ll find a sweet, intelligent cat who is not just a pet but a cherished member of the family. Your admiration for him will be as profound as his ability to enrich your lives. Story
In the quiet realms of domestic life, where the mundane often trumps the marvelous, there exists a creature as enchanting as a plot twist in one of life’s finest novels. Enter Maxwell—a four-month-old house panther with fur so sweet and velvet-y, it seems spun from dreams and moonlight. Maxwell is not your average kitten. No, he’s the kind of feline that lives as if the world is a grand adventure waiting just beyond the next corner. His gaze is inquisitive, his voice a persistent, charming murmur of “blurps” that seems to say, "Life is more thrilling when you’re part of it." He is forever in motion, a living embodiment of joyous pursuit, especially when it comes to games of chase with his brother, Dax. Yet, despite his boundless energy and penchant for play, Maxwell harbors a curious ambivalence towards being held—his heart is a delicate tapestry of independence and curiosity. He may not seek to be cradled, but he is most certainly eager to explore alongside you, his luminous eyes reflecting the unspoken promise of new adventures. If you offer him a game or a morsel of kibble, Maxwell will reward you with a sparkle of gratitude that rivals the finest moments in any literary saga. He is a creature of contrasts—playful and reserved, bold and tender—perfectly poised to add a touch of the extraordinary to the ordinary cadence of life. *If you want to meet sweet Maxwell, complete an adoption application at queencitycatsvt.org.

Story
In the tapestry of kittenhood, where every thread is woven with the promise of affection and whimsy, there exists a tabby named Dax. At just four months old, Dax embodies the essence of sweetness and playfulness, his stripes a testament to the charming complexities of youth. His life is a perpetual dance between toy and brother, his heart tethered to Maxwell in a bond as profound as any literary sibling rivalry. Dax is the quintessential momma’s boy—an endearing testament to a character caught between the comfort of familiar affections and the broader world of new experiences. His eyes, full of curiosity and warmth, seek a human companion who will navigate the delicate balance between play and tenderness. While his heart leaps for a feathered toy or a spirited chase, he remains uncertain about the art of being snuggled, though he harbors a budding curiosity for this new form of closeness. He is a kitten with an old soul’s need for patience and kindness, a gentle spirit looking for someone who understands that love, like any good story, often unfolds in layers. Dax’s journey from playful exuberance to the cozy embrace of a snuggle is one of the many narratives waiting to be discovered, and if you are the patient and kind soul who guides him through this transition, you will be rewarded with a companion whose love is as deep and enduring as the best chapters in life’s grandest novels. *If you want to meet sweet Dax, complete an adoption application at queencitycatsvt.org.

Story
Are you looking for a sweet, calm kitty who enjoys spending her days basking by the window? Look no further than Molly! This older lady cat (~10 years old) is gentle and affectionate and wouldn’t hurt a fly. Molly takes it upon herself to wake up her foster mom each morning by rubbing her forehead on her foster mom’s face and purring loudly. Molly loves food and belly rubs and would benefit from a peaceful and loving home. Molly is the type of cat that will greet you at the door (with a raspy “meow”) when you get home from work because she is so happy to see you. She has been recovering in recent months from dental surgeries and is currently on an all wet food diet and receives daily medicine for hypothyroidism. Despite recent health struggles, she is now in good physical condition and ready for her forever family. If you want to meet Molly, complete an adoption application at queencitycatsvt.org.

Story
Our cat Snuga is a very content, affectionate and kind cat. She came to us as a stray in the fall of 2014, and she became a loving addition to our family. When we took her to the vet to have her spayed, they guessed she was possibly 1-2 years old. We were sure she was a kitten because she was so small! She just had a full check up and she had glowing reports...the vet asked us what we fed her because she is still very vital and lively. She is one incredible companion and feline friend, this decision to find a new home for her us is one of necessity, as we are moving and traveling. We have found no other option. When we would vacation and had people cat sit, caretakers found her loving and receptive to petting, lap cuddling, affection, etc. She comes with references! Having said that she's not the kind of cat that has to be on or in the bed and under the covers with you! She is an outdoor/indoor cat, is easy to care for, and her main requirements are food twice a day.
