Story
Meet Sweet Caroline! Sweet Caroline perfectly embodies that sassy tortie stereotype! Though she can often be sassy, at her core Sweet Caroline is well, sweet! She is very affectionate and talkative and is often trying to con our staff and volunteers into giving her more snacks! Sweet Caroline's perfect home is one where she is the only pet with cat-savvy owners. Not only does she absolutely hate other cats, but she is also FeLV+ which means she should not live with other cats. Sweet Caroline is a healthy and happy girl, and our veterinarians believe the FeLV to be a regressive infection, which will not severely impact her length or quality of life. Interested applicants may further discuss this with our cat staff! With questions about Sweet Caroline, or any of our other adoptable cats, please contact Olivia at olivia.warburton@rispca.org

Story
Sometimes the most beautiful bonds are formed from the most difficult pasts. Ingrid and Mackerel may have started life on different paths, but these two have been brought together by what seems like fate. Now, these two sweet but fearful FeLV+ cats have found comfort together, and we are searching for their perfect home. Ingrid's early life was heartbreaking. She lived in a car with her owner and several other cats. Because she tested positive for FeLV, she was kept in a crate for the safety of the other cats. When she arrived at the shelter, she was understandably fearful. It took some time for her to start to trust humans and she was improving day by day. Ingrid's love for watching other cats became very clear, but she needed a special feline friend. Mackerel's story is just as sad. This handsome boy was living outdoors and was part of a TNR (trap, neuter, return) program. But when he tested positive for FeLV, he couldn't be returned to the outdoor colony. Instead, he was brought into a rescue and placed in a foster home. Mackerel was also fearful and needed time to trust humans. We decided we would transfer Mackerel to our shelter and introduce him to Ingrid, hoping a friendship would form. Within weeks, they were grooming each other, curling up together, and finding comfort in their shared companionship. It's clear they are building a bond that brings both of them joy and security. We know adopting two fearful cats with FeLV is a big ask, but we also know their perfect person is out there. They will need a quiet home with no dogs, children, or other cats (unless FeLV+). They also require a patient adopter that understands that love and trust takes time. Help us give Ingrid and Mackerel the loving home they deserve To learn more about this pair or if you are interested in meeting these two, please email Cathy at cathy.simonini@rispca.org.

Story
Meet Milky Way! This handsome guy is as sweet as caramel and chocolate! He loves coming out of his cage for affection at which time he will quickly start rolling around on the floor to let you know of his contentment. We don't have much of a background on this cutie, but he doesn't seem to be bothered by the other cats in the room so we think he would do fine with another cat with a slow introduction. For questions about Milky Way or any of our other adoptable cats, please contact Olivia at olivia.warburton@rispca.org.
