Story
Hello Fella! Fella is here along with his housemate Niko. If you’re looking for a perfect pair of cats they are the cat’s meow. This duo originally arrived at Berkshire Humane Society back in October of 2023 as a shy pair. Adopted in December, they acclimated to their new home with time and patience and built up their confidence. Their adopters worked with them, but it was evident the pair needed to be the only cats in a home. They were adopted out again, but were recently returned to the shelter, sadly due to the passing of their most recent adopter. So, now they find themselves in search of a home where someone is again willing to provide them time to acclimate and feel comfortable. Once these boys adjust, they are affectionate, sweet and love to cuddle up in bed with you. They come when called, particularly Fella who also loves to “talk back” and follow his people around. They have lived indoors only and are bonded, so they will be required to go home through the shelter’s “Buddy Program”. If you think you may be their lucky charm, please fill out a cat adoption application and speak to our feline staff directly. Story
I adopted this cat after her previous owner died suddenly in 2020. He and myself had discussed the topic of the cat prior to his death, as he knew he was going to die some time soon, and I promised him I would look after the cat. She is very affectionate, and is very insistent on it at times, waking me up during the night for a petting once in awhile, althougth this is not too often. While being petted, she will from time time give "love nibbles"; these are not done visciously. She seems to be obsessed with boxes, and will often sleep in one if one is available. I do not know her exact age, although I can approximate that she is between 5-6 years old. My landlord is selling the house, and I do not think I will be able to move somewhere that will allow pets, at least not at this time. I love her, but I must do what I must do. This "adoption" must be done within my local area of Pittsfield, MA as I am unable to transport, and the interested party will need to pick her up at my home.
