Story
Kalabar has a quirky personality, though he`s not nearly as fearsome as his Halloweentown namesake! Kalabar came to us from an environment where he lived with many cats and had limited human interaction. Kalabar would make a great `spirit cat` or working cat - his best success would be found in a low pressure environment where human interaction isn`t required. Kalabar has shown some signs of being curious about human companions, so he may eventually form a bond with `his people,` though it is important to note he may choose independence for the long haul. One thing we know about Kalabar is that he enjoys the company of other cats - if you have a cat looking for a companion, Kalabar may be your guy. Looking for a pair of working cats? Kalabar would happily take the job alongside one of his current roommates, Sophie or Marnie!Ideal for households seeking a serene atmosphere, spirit cats are a wonderful choice for those who appreciate the beauty of a subtle, low-maintenance relationship with a pet. While they may not seek constant interaction, their quiet nature can make them a perfect fit for many homes. They are not a great match for busy homes or those with small children, as they prefer a gentle, less demanding pace. Welcoming a spirit cat into your life can be a rewarding experience, where the focus is on respect, patience, and the quiet joy of sharing your space with a truly unique companion.

Sophie came to us from an environment where she lived with many cats and had limited human interaction. Sophie would make a great `spirit cat` or working cat - her best success would be found in a low pressure environment where human interaction isn`t required. One thing we know about Sophie is that she loves other cats - if you have a cat looking for a companion, Sophie may be your gal. Looking for a pair of working cats? Sophie would happily take the job alongside one of her current roommates, Kalabar or Marnie! While they are used to people being in somewhat close proximity to feed and care for them, these are not currently social cats but would make great ‘behind the scenes’ working cats! Interested adopters must have a safe, secure structure or barn for a working cat and be able to provide adequate time for acclimation. If you are interested, please give us a call today! If you would like to learn more about the Working Cat Program, or would like to fill out an application, please visit: www.mspca.org/barncat

Marnie came to us from a home with many cats and had limited human interaction. Marnie would make an excellent working cat and seems destined to succeed in an environment where there is limited to no pressure to make human friends. Marnie loves her cat roommates, so she would also likely succeed in a pair of working cats. One of her current roomies - Kalabar and Sophie - would be happy to join her! This cat is part of our Working Cat Program! This program is for cats that are not well suited for an indoor-only type lifestyle but would thrive in environments with more space, a job, and/or less pressure from humans and other pets. While this cat is used to people being in somewhat close proximity to feed and care for them, these are not currently social cats but would make great ‘behind the scenes’ working cats!
