Story
Ina is a 1 year-old mixed breed who weighs 52 lbs. She came to CHA when her owner could no longer care for her, and she was very fearful on arrival. During her time at CHA, Ina has become much more confident and is very sweet and snuggly with the people that she is familiar with. She thinks she is a lap dog and gives lots of gentle kisses. Ina has also made many dog friends. She loves wrestling and running around with her doggie playmates, and even gives them lots of kisses too. There have been a couple dogs that Ina did not like though, so a meet and greet with any current dogs is strongly recommended. While Ina is super loving with the people she knows, she can still be very nervous around new people. She shows conflicted behaviors when encountering novel people and environments and would benefit from a patient adopter that will allow her to slowly get used to new people and new things. Ina would also do best in a low traffic household with minimal visitors and no children. She is a very special girl who has a lot of love to give, and she needs an equally special adopter to give her the chance to thrive. Once Ina is comfortable, she is a playful, silly girl who loves cuddles, toys of all kinds, and lots of treats. Come meet Ina today to see if she`d be a good fit for your home!

Hi there, I`m Diesel! I`m a 1 year old 60lb Pit Bull mix. I was brought to CHA when my owner could no longer care for me. I am an excited, social boy who enjoys attention from people and dogs alike. I enjoy going on walks and playing with other dogs in the CHA play yard just as much as I enjoy laying down with a treat-filled Kong and taking long naps. One look at my sweet, smushy face will have you falling in love, I guarantee it! So if you`re looking for a well-rounded, large, lover-boy of a dog, come out to CHA and meet me today!

Story
Meet Blaze! This handsome boy with stunning eyes is looking for a brand new home of his own. He is a 3 year-old mixed breed who weighs 56 lbs. Blaze has lots of energy, and loves to go on walks. He would be the perfect adventure companion. His favorite game is fetch, and he would chase his tennis ball all day if he could. Blaze is also very smart and picks up on things quickly. He knows `sit,` and appears to be house trained! Blaze arrived at CHA when his owner could no longer care for him. He was underweight when he arrived and showed signs of food guarding. After a few weeks, once he had a chance to gain some weight, he was tested for food guarding again. During that assessment, he did not display significant guarding behaviors! Due to this history, we are still recommending that Blaze go to a home with more mature children who are old enough to understand that he may not be comfortable being disturbed while eating food or treats. Blaze has shown conflicted behavior when being introduced to other dogs in the shelter environment. He will play bow, but quickly becomes overstimulated and frustrated with the leashed introduction process. Blaze may be best as the only dog in the home, but if adopters are interested in integrating him into a home with another dog, they can visit CHA any weekday from 12:00 - 2:00 to discuss options for Blaze. Although Blaze is 3 years old, he still likes to act like a big puppy! When he gets excited, he can become ill-mannered. He would do best with an adopter who is willing to work on positive reinforcement training with him so he can learn he doesn`t have to jump up on people to show them that he loves them! If you`re looking for a loyal, independent, affectionate companion, Blaze could be the dog for you!
