Story
Moose is a four year old energetic, loving, and outgoing labrador retriever. Moose came to us around a year old from a relative who could not adequately provide a home for him. Moose needs a home without young children, and where he will receive the time and attention that he wants and deserves. He did have an incident where he bit our young daughter out of jealously and feeling overwhelmed. This is why we cannot keep Moose as we have young children in the home, yet we think he deserves to be in a home with less stressful triggers. He has never shown any aggression towards any adults, or older children and looks for people to snuggle up with on the couch! Help us find Moose the home that best suits him!

Meet Rose! This sweet girl came to THS after her owner could no longer care for her. We are still getting to know Rose, but so far we have seen that she is shy, but sweet, and may need a patient family to help her come out of her shell! Rose previously lived with other dogs and seemed to get along with them well, though we recommend still bringing in any resident dogs to meet Rose prior to adoption!Stop by and meet her today!

Story
Meet Flynn, a playful and energetic 1-year-old male dog ready to find his forever home! Flynn is looking for an adult-only household with no small animals or cats, and he will need to meet any resident canines before joining your family to ensure a good match. He thrives in a low-traffic environment, where he can enjoy his active and playful nature without feeling overstimulated.Flynn has a high energy level and loves to keep busy, whether it`s chasing balls, chewing on hard toys, or playing with plush and squeaky toys. He’s a true social butterfly, always excited to engage with his humans and make new friends. While he’s full of love and fun, he can be mouthy at times, so he’ll benefit from an experienced owner who can help guide his playful energy. Flynn is also treat-motivated, which makes him eager to learn and grow through training.Flynn loves mental and physical stimulation and would make an excellent companion for someone who enjoys keeping their dog engaged with training, puzzle toys, and daily adventures. He enjoys positive reinforcement training and responds well to learning new skills! He would prefer an home without children as kids can be too rambunctious for him. Adopters will have the option of fostering Flynn for one week through our foster to adopt program to determine if he is a good fit for your home prior to finalizing his adoption! If you’re looking for an active, loving, and toy-obsessed companion who will keep you on your toes, Flynn could be the perfect addition to your family! Stop by THS to meet him today!

Story
Meet this sweet guy, Casper! Casper is a playful, sweet older guy who loves fetch and knows lots of commands! While he gets along well with some dogs, he can be a bit tense in introductions, so a proper meet-and-greet is recommended. He’d thrive in a home with older kids who can handle his high-energy playstyle. Casper is best suited to a cat-free home, as he loves to chase! Ready for an active companion who enjoys toys and fun? Casper’s your guy! He spent some time in foster care for our annual Home for the Holidays event and we learned that he is friendly, affectionate. mellow, and loves his stuffies!! He was also good with the crate, liked the car, and did well with going potty outside!!Stop by and meet this loving guy today!

Story
Meet Saint, an energetic and playful dog with a heart full of love for both people and playtime! This lively guy is a high-energy walker who enjoys exploring and getting all his wiggles out, making him the perfect companion for someone who loves an active lifestyle. He’s independent, social, and always ready for a game or a good cuddle session.Saint’s favorite things? Hard chews, rope toys, and plushies—he’s all about satisfying his playful nature. He’s also a big fan of treats and loves attention from people. While Saint doesn’t know any formal cues, his enthusiasm and charm make him a joy to be around. He does have a bit of barrier frustration, but with the right guidance and understanding, he’s ready to thrive in a home where his needs are met.Saint came to the Toronto Humane Society through our cruelty department, along with five other dogs, and we recommend a careful dog-to-dog introduction. He’s social with people but has shown that he prefers his space when it comes to other dogs getting too close. He’s met another dog at the shelter and displayed friendly behaviors, though he does give a little growl or correction if another dog invades his personal space. Highly recommend D2D (Dog to Dog) introductions to ensure he’s placed in the best environment for everyone involved!Saint’s ideal home would be cat-free, as there have been unconfirmed reports of him and other dogs chasing stray cats. We also don’t have information on how he is with children, so a home with older, respectful children would be best. This handsome boy is ready to be the loyal and fun-loving companion you’ve been looking for.Stop by and meet Saint today!!

Story
Delilah was rescued by our cruelty department after being left outside in freezing temperatures. Despite her rough past, she’s a sweet and gentle soul who may feel a little nervous when meeting new people. To ensure she feels comfortable, Delilah needs to meet everyone in the household before going home. Once she warms up, though, she loves curling up on the couch for cozy snuggles. While Delilah isn’t a fan of feline friends, she’ll need to meet any potential canine companions before making a new best friend. Now that she’s ready for her forever home, come meet this lovely girl and see if you’re the perfect match!
