Story
Katie is currently looking for a forever home for her golden years. Katie's owner passed and had nowhere to go. She is currently in a foster home, learning to live, love and trust again. She has done amazing in her foster home. Katie needs structure in her life as she sometimes can have accidents in the home if you don't catch her "outside" cue's. She loves to play! She's not much of a toy play dog but would rather play with her people and get loving!  Katie sleeps through the night and does not have any existing medical needs. She would do best as an only dog but seems to do better with smaller, respectable dogs. She has not been cat tested but judging on her reaction to small wildlife, we think cats would be a no. Older kids would suit her best as well.  She walks great on a leash and doesn't need a crate when left alone (as long as you don't leave food out as she will try to counter surf to the best of her abilities and usually succeeds!) Katie's hearing is not the best but her vision is still good! She may do well in an apartment but would definitely need to be a first floor apartment ONLY.November 4, 2024, 7:46 pm

Story
Boe is 5 years old and is a black lab mix. He was adopted in August of 2019 from the Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter in Valley View Ohio when he was only 3 months old. Doctors estimated he was born around May 30, 2019. He was found roaming the streets of Garfield Heights, OH. He is a loving, playful, and highly energetic doggie! He is crate and potty trained. He was already neutered when we adopted him and he is microchipped. He is our only pet and has never been around cats. He has been around dogs because we sometimes board him at Barks & Recreation in Macedonia, OH when we go out of town. He seems to do pretty good there. He loves to play! Boe received his yearly vaccines on July 6, 2024.Boe loves car rides!November 19, 2024, 1:32 pm

Story
Little Tabitha is looking for her forever home. She’s a spry young girl who is Anzio awaiting her spay surgery. Do you love to cuddle? Do you love to have fun? Do you love excitement? Do you just want to take hikes in the park? If you answered yes to any of those questions, this girl is for you! She craves human affection and loves to play with other dogs! She has not yet been tested with cats but we’re thinking she may be too much for them as well as young children because of her energy. She is crate trained and housebroken. She is current on all her vaccines as well. She rides beautifully in a car as well!November 4, 2024, 7:46 pm

Story
After living his first months on earth as a stray and getting hit by a car, Huey aka Trapper was caught and is now in a foster home. He is a quiet and scared boy. He will come out of his shell once he knows you. He is still learning how to walk on a leash and learning how not to go to the bathroom in the house. He will be undergoing FHO surgery and a neuter in the near future and will be ready for his forever home!  Right now he is scared and only plays with toys when nobody is around and will only eat if he’s alone. He does great in his crate too! We are still learning a lot about him as he adjust to being in a home.November 4, 2024, 7:46 pm

Story
Grey is such a bro. Grey is a male American Staffordshire terrier that weighs 61 pounds. He is estimated to be 2 years old. Grey was found as a stray and no one claimed him. He was very thin upon intake and just plain sad. In the few weeks that he has been with us, he has eaten and gotten much needed TLC. He has gained some weight and is overall a body wiggle pro. He is very strong on leash and would benefit from general obedience and manners. He is a full upper body workout. He will work your core, shoulders, back and patience. His giant blockhead is almost as big as his heart. He is very loving and friendly. He loves to be outside. A fenced in yard is ideal for Grey. He has a medium energy level. Because he was a stray, we don’t know anything about Grey’s background. He would prefer to be your one and only dog. Grey is available and is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested, and has a microchip. Please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and fill out an adoption application online to meet Grey. Grey`s adoption fee is $160. Grey is the type of dog that will gladly accompany you on the couch to watch movies. But when you get up to get a snack, you gotta find another spot to sit because he has taken over the whole couch. Such a bro. He can be adopted outside of Parma.

Story
*SPECIAL NEEDS GIRL IN SEARCH OF SPECIAL HOME for PALLIATIVE CAREMeet our special needs girl Zoey. While under our care, Zoey had a soft tissue sarcoma tumor surgically removed from her leg. It may or may not come back. For that reason, we are asking for a permanent foster who is willing to open up their home to Zoey for as long as she has on this earth. The Shelter will continue to pay for all her vetting while she is in the permanent foster’s home. Zoey is a female Boxer mix that weighs 56 pounds. She is 8.5 years young. This girl came to us as an owner surrender after her loving owner passed away. Zoey is a very good girl and would make a great family dog. In the home, Zoey is very calm and easy going. She will follow you around and keep you company, whether you want it or not (LOL). She is very much a Velcro dog. Zoey thoroughly enjoys car rides. She is housetrained and has a medium energy level. She is dog selective meaning she likes some dogs, and others, not so much especially small dogs.. Zoey also does well with certain cats. If you have a resident dog, you must schedule a meet and greet to make sure everyone gets along. Zoey would be perfectly fine being the only dog too. Zoey is already spayed and microchipped. Please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and fill out an adoption application online to meet Zoey. Zoey lives her life day by day. She just needs a loving home.
