Story
MUFFIN, an 8 and a half year old Chow Chow mix came to our pound when her mom and dad both passed away. MUFFIN spent her life in an outside kennel so she will need some housebreaking tips. MUFFIN is a little timid when she first meets people she doesn't know, but once she warms up, she is sweet and affectionate. She loves hot dogs and chicken nuggets so if you want to win her love quickly, ply her with her favorites and you'll have a friend for life. We don't know about her vetting history, but while she was being cared for by a neighbor, she was taken to the vet and she was put on preventatives. MUFFIN would do best in a quiet home since she has not met kids, cats or other dogs. At the pound, she will bark at other dogs and when they ignore her, she stops. She would love to be able to leave the noise and confusion of the pound and have her own quiet spot with a family. Harrison County Dog Pound, 82900 Toot Rd. Cadiz, OH 43907. Open M-F 10am-4pm; Sat 9am-2pm; closed Sundays and holidays. Out of state adoptions are welcome. Applications are available at the pound and online at harrisoncountdogpounvolunteers, org. Apple users must submit application using Google, not Safari.

Story
We would like to introduce you to STELLA, a 10 month old Plott Hound/Smooth Coat Collie mix who came to our pound as a stray. STELLA is the kind of dog who loves everyone. She is sweet, loving and very affectionate. She loves to give hugs and be hugged in return. She has tons of personality, learns quickly, and is very treat motivated. She came to us as a stray with no training at all. We enrolled her in the Cell Dog Training Program at the Belmont Correctional Institution because she didn't have much, if any, training. She hasn't been in the program very long, but her handler said she is one fast learner and is making huge progress. We are accepting applications for STELLA so that when she is ready to graduate from the program, she can join a family immediately. A meetngreet can be arranged while she is training for an approved adopter. If you are looking for a best friend, check out STELLA. Harrison County Dog Pound, 82900 Toot Rd. Cadiz, OH 43907.
