Story
**This dog is at risk for euthanization due to length of stay and a decline in the environment. Ottie came to us last year back in October and is officially our longest resident. We're starting to get worried that once we blink, it'll be a year that he's still here. Watching his friends leave, and being in an environment that constantly changes has already taken a toll on him. Please help us find the perfect adopter for Ottie! 𝐎𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐞 is an amazing dog for many homes and he's looking for a forever home that doesn't mind making a little accommodation. Please share his post so he can find his forever home. "OTTIE" 3 Years Old - German Shepherd Mix Neutered Male - Vaccinated/Microchip Cat and Kid Friendly Dog Tolerable This handsome guy was found roaming the streets in Madison(OH) and was relinquished upon return to the previous owners. (He's so well known by the locals, he even had his own Facebook page Where’s Otti?) While not very trusting of strangers (just avoids them), he is very friendly especially when a trusted handler is present. When you bond with Ottie, he'll be at your beck and call. He has a more laid-back personality (with a big goofy side), but loves zoomie time! Ottie will play with balls, stuffed toys, and even chew the occasional bone. He loves to go for walks, adventures, and car rides (just don't leave him in the car alone! He'll be worried for your safety). When going for walks, he handles very nicely and makes the perfect companion for adventures. Just keep your eye out for squirrels as Ottie has a score to settle with them. He claims that one threw an acorn in his eye while he was smelling the flowers one morning. 💚 Ottie is also very communicative when a need must be met (potty, water, food, bored, or when something is wrong). The more enriched he is, the less likely he'll bother you for anything. German Shepherd need enrichment daily and are a high-energy breeds! While Ottie is generally dog-friendly, he is selective of who he makes friends with. Ottie is not aggressive but will be very clear who he does and does not like before escalating. The environment has worn him down so much, especially losing some of his best friends (males and females), that he might do best as an only dog or with a 𝐟𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐞, playful, companion. On the bright side, he absolutely loves playing with kids! Ottie would be a great companion to a growing kid. He plays with them, goofs off, and would 100% help your children get into the cookie jar. Crate Trained Housebroken Great Leash Manners Knows Sit, Paw, and (working on) Stay Ottie is incredibly smart and seems to be very understanding of basic communication. This is a really easy dog to bring home and will be a great family member after decompressing. Ottie likes his space on occasion but doesn't mind snuggling up. He knows the "Good Morning" command when sleeping out which is giving big affection, pulling the sheets off of you, then kicking you out of bed. It has its uses if you're not a big morning person. Like every great dog, there are some quirks to address. Ottie is one heck of an escape artist from opening windows, doors and making those fences look invisible. However, as escapable as our fence is, he doesn't make the attempt to leave unless the other dogs are picking on him. Once a handler is bonded, he might be mischievous at times, but he'll always be there. Ottie cannot be left unattended without a crate and will need a specific escape-proof kennel which he remains very calm in even when no one is home. Most of his BIG escape attempts were linked to separation anxiety but settles once he feels he's somewhere safe. Ottie is not elgible to go into apartments. Fences are not required with an active family. Story
**Belle is at risk of euthanization due to decline in environment.** LOVABLE BOWLING BALL LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO CATCH HER WITH OPEN ARMS Lovable Belle is available for long-term foster, or foster-to-adopt! Out-of-State Available for adoption. She has been a great house guest since escaping death row at Franklin County all because she wanted to play with volunteers. As Boxers do, they LOVE to play and are notorious back-talkers. "What do you mean she can't play fetch right now?!" While the cold air is far from her favorite, Belle loves to play fetch... where you don't get the ball back. We keep an arsenal of balls at our disposal hoping she'll bring at least one back before she goes for the next. Have you ever seen a dog shove more than one ball in her mouth? Neither have we. But, Belle keeps trying. When not running around the yard, she loves playing with stuffed toys in the house or bouncing around like she's dancing. While Belle can be ready to play a majority of the day, she does have a nice sweet, calm affectionate side. Belle likes to lean against her handlers legs and ask for pets. Her kisses are gentle and she even has a very apologetic side for accidentally sliding into your potted plant. Belle didn't mean to, and how can you blame her with those sweet eyes? She was only trying to have fun. While nearly perfect in everyway, including being a good listener, she is strong. Strong like Hulk. Need to move that car that's blocking your driveway, out of the way? I bet Belle could push it with ease. Alright, that's a little dramatized, maybe. But, at least be ready to saddle up on the leash. We have been working with her on leash handling, and she's doing great! However, sometimes she gets excited and will pull. With proper equipment, it hasn't been as difficult keeping your feet planted into the ground. Belle loves kids but can be a lot for the younger ones. She sits on the people she loves. Belle loves playing with other dogs but smaller dogs might disappear under her feet. Belle is not cat tested at this time but we can cat-test. Based on cues and behaviors, we predict a moderate chance of getting along with cats. Not low but not high. 50/50. Crate-Trained Does well in her crate with some FOMO. Belle will whine when she has to use the bathroom. Might need some convicing to go in some days. No separation anxiety presented. Mostly Housebroken Belle doesn't chew or destroy the home (at least, not intentionally). Belle appears potty trained as long as cues are being acknowledged. If not, she will not hold it. Handler should reinforce potty training. Story
It's official, Bam-Bam is ready to spread his wings and fly the coop! (Foster to Adopt / Adoption Only) This very handsome chonky kid came from Wayne County Dog Shelter, down on his luck. The shelter environment was wearing him down which was affecting his overall performance. Now, he's one of the greatest kids here! All concerns went out the window once he settled in. Bam-Bam is an affectionate, laid-back, chonk who seems to prefer spending his days laying around or going to sniff the flowers in the yard. Be prepared to sit on the couch for an hour or two because you're going to recieve the best nuzzles or... he'll fall asleep and snore the day away. "BAM-BAM" 3YO Neutered Male French Bulldog x Exotic Bully With those big, frenchie ears, he's a great listener. Very smart and picks up routine very quickly. His previous handler at the shelter has done very well to train him ahead of time to set Bam-Bam up for success. Housebroken Crate Trained no Separation Anxiety Good Leash Handling Knows a Few Commands Dog Friendly Kid Friendly Cat Testing Available Upon Request (Bam-Bam has shown positive interaction with the shelters outdoor feline) You really can't go wrong with adopting Bam-Bam but it will be very important finding the right home for him as he will need a CALM environment. High-Energy dogs stress out BamBam and Loud children could be counterproductive to his growth. When overstimulated, Bam-Bam may become mouthy and will need correction. Routine could be beneficial. A well-versed handler that doesn't let dogs get away with everything may also be beneficial. NOT Elgible for Out-of-State Adoption Transport Options Available Adoption: 300.00

Story
Cane just turned 2 years old on 3/16 & I got him from an old friend a few years ago after my uncle passed. He helped me get through the grieving process tremendously so eventually I made him my esa dog(I do have all the paperwork). Hopefully I can find someone with the space & time to love, play , care for him. Currently I’m in an apartment but he needs more space to work off his energy as he is very energetic. Also I couldn’t add this in above but cane is decent with other dogs really because it starts off as playing around then he wants the hump(excuse my language) other dogs no matter if it’s boy or girl idk why he’s been like this since I got him.

Story
This is Pearl. She's a Rot/Cane Corso mix I am currently fostering from my brother. My brother needed a place to stay so I let him live in my basement and he left pearl here because his girlfriend wont let her come back. She is a very loving dog that just wants everybody's attention. She is currently going through dog training. She is leash trained to heel. She knows Sit, laydown, paw, place, stay, come, and off also she is crate trained. She is very playful and wants to bring her toys with her everywhere. Give her a ball and she will be busy for hours, she does like to bring the ball over to you to play fetch as well. She lives with my other dog Cash who is a 70lb pitbull/boxer and 2 cats. We would like to find a new home for her because our house isn't big enough for two big dogs and 2 cats. She really is a great dog, she picks up fast and I truly would like her to have a shot at finding her a forever home. Please reach out for any interest.

Story
Archie is 10-ish. He’s been with me for 8 years. He had been abused and I found him on the side of the highway in bad shape. He takes a bit to warm up to people as he’s a nervous little guy. But once he does, he will be your best friend. He is uncomfortable around young children though, they have high energy and he gets nervous. He is a sweet boy and loves to sleep under the blankets to keep warm.
