Story
ABOUT ME... Hi, my name is Bella! I am a young, petite Great Dane mix. I was given up by my previous family, along with a small female dog, because they were struggling with personal issues. I also lived with a male dog my size. My favorite thing ever is to be petted and snuggle with you on the couch or bed. I like to play with plush toys and enjoy stuffed Kong toys. I am very gentle with all my toys; I do not like to pull the stuffing out and make a big mess. I also love to give my humans kisses and nudge at them when they think it's time to stop petting me! I am a sweet, sensitive girl who listens well if you tell me to leave something alone. My foster mom is a dog trainer, so I've had some basic training and she'll share with you how to continue with all the things I've learned! I AM GREAT WITH... I'm house trained, I know Sit, Down, and Watch Me. I will lay on my blanket and settle there if you reinforce me with some treats. My foster Mom said I was doing great coming when I am called, for some reason my listening ears are not working when she calls me, but I will work on getting them fixed. I take the treats out of your hand very gently, it's the polite thing to do. I'm good at playing with large, playful male dogs. I like men and women if they go slow with me and give me a chance to warm up to them. I get excited to go for car rides and I get right in the car. I AM STILL WORKING ON... I'm learning to walk on a loose leash. I come to your left side if you say Here. I have not wanted to be in a crate in my foster home, but I did sleep in one in my previous home. I love being with people sooo much, I am struggling with when they leave me. I am working to gain confidence in staying home alone. Right now, I don't have any other doggy friends, and I think a sweet, timid playful doggy companion would make me really comfortable! I AM NOT GOOD WITH... Small children make me nervous, especially when they scream. I'm not sure what I think about cats. I REQUIRE... --A fenced-in backyard. Not only do I love to be in the backyard and sniff wildlife trails, but I also like to lay in the grass and sunbathe. --A home with no children under 10 and someone home most of the time. **All animals in our care are spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (age 1 & up), given preventatives, and provided with initial vaccinations AT MINIMUM. Booster shots are included in the adoption fee and will be performed at our clinic, or the adopter can use their own vet at their expense. Adopters must reside within 2 hours of Columbus, OH. Story
ABOUT ME... I have been so excited to tell everyone about myself! My name is Madison, but most people call me Maddy. I am a 6-year-old, chihuahua mix with stunning eyes. I became a part of rescue when my mommy became ill. Another wonderful family member took me in and was taking great care of me. She loves me a ton, but I get a bit anxious around the kids, therefore, she reached out to COPAW to find me a forever home. I know this was a hard decision for her, but it was also a necessary decision. I will never forget her love and kindness. I AM GREAT WITH... I love adults, other dogs, naps, and exploring my surroundings. My foster home does not have cats, so I am not sure if I would embrace them or not. I sleep through the night without making a sound. I love to cuddle and be beside my human. I walk great on my leash. My foster mom says I am no trouble at all, I am so sweet and quiet it is unreal. I like to follow my foster mom and around just to see if she is doing anything fun. I AM STILL WORKING ON... Since I came to my foster mom's house I have had a few accidents. I was great at going outside to potty before I came here. She said not to worry, it is probably the change in environment. I am working hard and doing a lot better now that I have been here for a while. My foster mom does not put me in a crate, she does not think it is necessary, because I am a good girl, I do not mess with anything in the house. I have been working on my weight. It got a little out of control in my former home. I have made progress and would like my forever home to continue to help me get my fabulous figure back. I AM NOT GOOD WITH... I am not good with kids. They are cute, but they make me a little anxious. **All animals in our care are spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (age 1 & up), given preventatives, and provided with initial vaccinations AT MINIMUM. Story
Love isn't a sprint, it's a marathon. And Relay has the heart and soul to go the distance by your side! Relay is a fun and happy go lucky guy who takes life in stride. He just doesn't want to hear any jokes about three-legged relay races - he already knows them all! This fun loving tri-pod loves to play with his dog friends here at the shelter and would likely do well in a home with another dog. Relay has a rough and rowdy play style. Meet and greets are recommended for any potential canine siblings to make sure they and Relay would be a good match. If you are looking for a confident adventure buddy, Relay is your boy! He is always up for a game of fetch or tug or to head out on a walk or hike. Relay is an active dog that would do best in an active home to help keep his mind and body busy. Looking for a brewery or restaurant buddy? Relay has been a favorite to take on doggie day outs from the shelter where he loves to hang out on patios and enjoy some good company! When he’s not working on his fitness, Relay loves to snuggle up with his favorite humans and his “emotional support ball”. He’s sweet and snuggly and his heart is as big as his blocky head! So don’t walk – RUN - to meet this sweet handsome and athletic boy today! He’d love to pass the baton to a family of his own to love! If you’re interested in meeting Relay, race now to his adoption application and fill that out to schedule a meet and greet. Please note that meet and greets are by appointment only. Relay is 3 years old and weighs 61 lbs. All of our animals come fully vetted so he is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines and preventatives.

Story
This beautiful girl right here is Copper. Copper is a five year old pup with her puppy energy intact! Copper is very sweet, loyal, loves her food and her humans. Coppers current environment is not the right fit however as she is often left to her own devices. Copper needs to be in a home that can provide her with plenty of exercise and no other pets as she is pretty protective of her territory. A fence is not required but an active household is. She is likely do better in a home with teenage children as her version of run and jump likely won't mesh with younger kids. Copper is truly a sweetheart and loved by everyone she meets. Give her your time, mental and physical exercise and scrumptious food and she will give you kisses, cuddles and all the attention you could ever want!

Story
Are you the type of person that likes to give sweet older pups a chance they might otherwise not get? Sweetie loves attention and will happily help you out by guarding the door of the bathroom from the inside. However, she can also be quite the independent little lady and doesn’t need to be a velcro dog… unless you want her to be! Sweetie can be a little bossy with her dog friends (part of why we think she’s mixed with chihuahua!) but generally gets along well with everyone. Sweetie is a beauty but would benefit from a little tough love when it comes to feeding and giving out treats and a little more activity in her day. A physically fenced yard is required. Sweetie is available for adoption in Ohio to residents of Ohio.
