Story
This pet is eligible for the SENIORS ADOPTING SENIORS initiative! Seniors (65+) are permitted to adopt a senior dog (8+) for the reduced fee of $75.00 ABOUT ME… Hey there, I'm Bert! Some say I’ve got the charm of my namesake—Burt Reynolds—minus the mustache but with all the charisma. I may be past my prime to stay on the run from Smokey, but I sure do love a good road trip, a long walk, or just riding shotgun with my favorite human. Life has been a bit of a winding road for me. My mom passed away, and when my dad had to move into a care facility, my world got turned upside down. My caretakers wanted the best for me but couldn’t keep me, so they reached out to CO•PAW. That’s when my amazing foster family stepped in to help me heal and get ready for my next big adventure—finding my forever home. Through it all, I’ve been determined to stay a true gentleman—kind, loyal, and always up for some fun. Whether we’re cruising the open road or relaxing on the couch, I’m just happy to be part of the ride. I AM GREAT WITH... House manners—I know where to do my business: outside. I love long walks or just being your couch pal. I get along well with dogs big and small, and I adore people. My foster dad hasn’t had a chance to introduce me to cats, but I have a feeling we’d get along just fine. He also says I’ve got a heart as big and powerful as a Trans Am’s engine. I AM STILL WORKING ON... Figuring out what’s next. After losing my home, I’m still getting used to change. But I’ve been so lucky to have kind humans looking out for me, and I know my perfect family is just around the bend. I REQUIRE... Daily medication for arthritis. VETTING... ~All animals in our care are spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (age 1 & up), given preventatives, and provided with initial vaccinations AT MINIMUM. ~If booster shots have not been completed prior to adoption, they may be completed at our clinic in Columbus, OH at no additional expense. Story
ABOUT ME… Hi!! My name is Chloe, I was surrendered by my owner after they were no longer able to take care of me. But that has not stopped me from accepting love from anyone that offers. I am so sweet, so cuddly, and ALL puppy. I am a little over a year old but am really coming into my personality and settling down. I live with my sweet 10 year old human foster sister (also named Chloe, that has been fun), and my 3 year old human foster brother who has been a great match for me energy-wise! I love naps, a peanut butter kong, and prancing around the backyard. I AM GREAT WITH… All people, I have yet to meet a stranger! All dogs! We haven’t interacted with any cats so I am not sure what I’d think. The squirrels in the backyard keep me jumping and I lay and watch the birds all day. I am GREAT on a leash. I sit, stay, “drop it.” I AM STILL WORKING ON... Kennel training! My foster mom thinks I have some separation anxiety so I do best around people. Potty training - my foster moms says I am 80% there. We’ve had lots of luck with a bell on the backdoor (and a goof schedule). I am also still learning which toys are mine and which are the kids. I definitely like options (equal part bone/soft toy). I AM NOT GOOD WITH… I VERY much match energy and sometimes that makes me a little jumpy! I am so excited to meet new people so sometimes my mom leashes me because I jump. I also have to be separated while my foster family is eating. It is partially the toddlers fault because he doesn’t seem to care if I eat his food but mom says I beg! I REQUIRE… I am currently on Trazodone to try and help with my separation anxiety. When mom/kids are leaving me in my kennel for ANY period of time, they make a plan to medicate me. I am fine when people are around - they just worry when I am alone. Story
ABOUT ME… Hi, I’m Basil! I was born in rescue on January 16, 2025, and I’m the very last of my litter still looking for my furever home. I’m a boxer mix (my mama is 49 lbs of classic boxer and happily in her furever home, but dad’s a total mystery!), and I’ve got a big heart packed into my now 24-pound, 3-month-old self. Lately, I’ve been full of puppy energy. I love getting the zoomies and racing around like a little rocket! But don’t worry, I’m still a total cuddlebug and will happily climb right into your lap (yes, I do believe with all my heart and mind that I still fit. What is it cats say? “If I fits, I sits”? That’s so me!). I like hanging out by your feet when you’re cooking and will always be your #1 kitchen helper and taste tester. I’ve started exploring outside more and am very curious about the world, watching movement in the yard and checking out what the neighbors are up to. I adore my toys, I love treats (seriously, I get SO excited!), and I enjoy playing either on my own or with other animals, like my foster siblings. I've even become a bit of a charming opportunist. I recently managed to sneak a treat out of a basket at the vet’s office. I mean, if it’s within reach, isn’t that an open invitation? I’m also an A+ co-pilot. I ride shotgun like a champ, switching between peeking out the window and curling up next to my foster mom for a nap. Total road trip vibes. I’ve been through a couple of returns (my foster mom and everyone who knows me says it’s their loss!), which set me back a little with my potty training, but I’m bouncing back beautifully and diligently on a routine. I surprised everyone by growling when I saw my brother at the vet. Apparently, I didn’t want to share all the pets and love I was soaking up from the staff. I mean, a guy’s got to soak up the spotlight when he gets the chance, right? (Is this MY toxic trait??) I AM GOOD WITH… All people Other dogs Crate time Car rides (excellent travel companion!) I’M WORKING ON… Potty training (doing great on a routine!) Leash training If you're looking for a playful, affectionate pup with a heart of gold, a dash of mischief, and a lot of love to give, I might just be your guy. I can’t wait to meet you! ___ VETTING... **LULU IS AVAILABLE AS A PART OF OUR SENIORS ADOPTING SENIORS INITIATIVE: ~This pet is eligible for our SENIORS ADOPTING SENIORS initiative! Seniors (65+) are permitted to adopt a senior dog (8+) for the reduced adoption fee of $75.00 ABOUT ME… Hi, I’m Lulu! I’m a sweet 7-year-old Beagle/Blue Heeler mix with a heart full of love. Though I recently lost my owner, I’m bravely adjusting to this new chapter with a wagging tail and a hopeful heart. I love being outside — sniffing, exploring, and soaking up the sunshine is my favorite way to spend the day. When the adventures are over, I’m all about snuggles and cozy nights in. I am fully potty trained and have no need with a crate, as I never chew on anything I’m not supposed to! I AM GREAT WITH… Kids! I’m gentle and patient, and I love having little humans to keep me company. I AM NOT GOOD WITH… I’m still figuring out how I feel about some new experiences, so a calm and understanding home would be best while I continue to adjust. I AM STILL WORKING ON… Getting used to new routines. I’ve only ever known life with my previous owner, so I’m learning how to feel comfortable in different environments. I REQUIRE… Lots of outdoor time! A home with a yard or someone who loves taking walks would be a dream come true for me. And, of course, plenty of love, patience, and belly rubs. ABOUT ME… Hiya! I’m Benjamin, but my friends call me Benji - and trust me, we’re gonna be friends. I’m a two-year-old Beagle mix with floppy ears, a wiggly butt, and a heart full of joy. Seriously, I might just be the happiest dog you’ll ever meet! I’m currently living it up with my foster home, where I’ve been learning some very important grown-up dog things. My recall has really improved! I’m not perfect yet, but I’m a smart cookie and super eager to please - the treats help. ;) I absolutely love zooming around the yard, like I’m on a secret squirrel defense mission, so a fenced yard is a must. Don’t worry, no squirrels will get in on my watch! After my outdoor adventures, I LOVE to snuggle up on the couch with you for some serious cuddles and nap time. I’m the perfect mix of playful and cuddly! I LOVE playing with my foster brothers, so if you have a doggie friend for me, I would LOVE LOVE LOVE that. I haven’t met any cats yet, so I don’t really know what I think of them, and I’m still untested around kids. But my foster dad says that with my sweet and friendly personality and the way I love meeting new people, I’d probably do just fine with kids, especially if they drop snacks. So what do you say? Wanna be best buds? I’ll bring the wag, you bring the belly rubs (and maybe some snacks to?!) I AM GREAT WITH… Going outside to go potty, going into my crate at night. I love everyone after I meet them, we will be best friends. I AM STILL WORKING ON… Leash manners. I AM NOT GOOD WITH… New/loud noises I REQUIRE… A fenced yard VETTING...
