Story
Toby Teeth is a 3-year-10-month old Miniature Pinscher weighing 17 pounds. He came to the shelter as a stray so his history is unknown. Adopter required to have breed knowledge/experience. Toby Teeth is a character, he has a big personality! He's affectionate on his terms, he'll jump right in your lap and give you hugs & kisses! Does not like to be picked up-don't even try until you've earned his trust!! We believe he has past trauma that has given him some trust issues and he's a typical Min Pin!. A slow approach is needed, he does not like hands above his head or on his chest. He loves treats and knows the command sit. Resource guarding with toys-will not share and DO NOT try to take it from him. Suspected separation anxiety. He has lots of energy and loves walks. Good on a leash. Loves car rides and rides well with a seat belt.Miniature Pinschers are for experienced dog owners. The Miniature Pinscher is an assertive, outgoing, active, and independent breed. Miniature pinschers are energetic and need a fenced yard to run in; they make great agility dogs. They are great escape artists and some recommend having a kennel with a lid on it for them to run around in. They are good watchdogs, as they are alert and wary of strangers. They can easily alert their owners of someone's presence, their happiness or their loneliness with their frequent high-pitched bark. It is recommended that adults and teenagers, rather than young children, play with a Miniature Pinscher as younger children play rough. Miniature Pinschers are a stubborn breed when it comes to training, but once trained they will obey commands well. His adoption fee is $150, this includes his neuter, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. His dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $21.00. Coconut is estimated to be around 10-months old and a Maltese mix weighing 9 pounds. She came to the shelter as a stray so her history is unknown. Coconut is the definition of a velcro dog! She needs to be close to her person at all times, and when we say close we mean stuck (like velcro) to you. Suspected separation anxiety. When left alone she cries (very loudly & dramatically)! Coconut is a bit nervous & shy, she's working on building her confidence, doesn't keep her from seeking affection. She's a little cuddle bug that loves to give kisses (she's a licker)! She needs work on all things puppy, housebreaking, leash manners, etc. Her butt wiggles will having you falling in love! Story
Bindi is a 4 year and 10 month old Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix weighing 36 pounds. She came to the shelter as an owner surrender due to not being able to provide the time and attention she needs. Potential adopters required to understand breed specific needs. Bindi is a high energy dog and needs an active family, she will not do well if left alone for any period of time. Bindi can be timid with strangers, letting her approach you is best. Once she knows you, she's a very sweet girl and loves belly rubs. Bindi is very smart, quick to listen to commands, she's been through puppy training and basic obedience classes. She loves to be outside and go on adventures, good at parks. She LOVES to play fetch, a tennis ball is her favorite toy. If she does not have a daily outlet for her energy and need to "work" or is left alone she becomes very anxious. When she becomes bored she gets herself into trouble. She is good but selective with other dogs, another dog in the home may help her thrive, she can resource guard with her toys and other dogs-supervision needed at all times with toys. Good with children over 12 who will understand her boundaries. Her adoption fee is $150, this includes her spay, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. Her dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $20.75.
