Story
Jalene is a 4-year-4-month old Boxer/Bulldog mix weighing 38 pounds. She came to the shelter as a stray so her history is unknown. Jalene is a petite girl with a large personality! She is full of sassiness, cuddles and kisses! She likes to go for walks but pulls, needs leash training and a harness is required to prevent trachea damage, she's especially crazy and pulls when squirrels are near! She is very smart and curious. She is quick to learn. She loves treat puzzles and knows commands sit and paw. She is selective with treats and loves stuffed toys. Plays fetch and and enjoys other outdoor toys, lots of energy. She thinks she is a lap dog and wants to be with you all the time. Loves car rides, especially if there is a pup cup-minus the cup! No cats permitted in her new home. Jalene does well with other dogs but should be the only dog in the home due to her not wanting to share attention (jealous). Her adoption fee is $150, this includes her spay, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. Her dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $21.00. Please visit the shelter to meet her, we show dogs Monday through Friday 1pm-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-3:30pm. Once you have visited the shelter, you are then eligible to submit an adoption application for review. Story
Ziggy is a 5-year-1-month old Siberian Husky weighing 70 pounds. He came to the shelter due to his owner no longer being able to care for him. If you've never had a husky please do your homework before adopting one! Ziggy can be aloof when you first meet him. Time and attention will have him in your lap. He loves squeaky toys and plays well by himself. Is unsure with playing outside, tug or fetch are unknown to him. He is excited for walks but needs leash training and overall training in basic manners. He's very stubborn, (typical husky behavior)) knows commands but does what he pleases. Does well with strangers and car rides. Treat motivated & housebroken. Very fearful of veterinarian handling-sedation recommended. Due to his size, no small children, he will easily knock them over in his eagerness to play. His adoption fee is $150, this includes his neuter, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. His dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $21.00. He has all core shots plus Bordatella, Lepto, Corona, Lyme and Rabies shots. Good on shots till June 29th 2025. Has been on monthly Heart worm and flea prevention since June. He is not housebroken yet but is working on it. He loves to play with his toys and plays fetch for a while then moves on to another toy. He loves belly rubs. He loves to cuddle up on the couch for a nap with you. He goes for walks and needs his harness for walks. I am the only person in the house and i am gone for 9 1/2 hours a day for work. He needs people that can be around for him more. He is getting bored being alone for so long. Has separation anxiety but giving him calming chews help. Will give his cage, bed, leash, two harness, toys, treats, food, year of heart worm/flea prevention, puppy pads, etc

Story
Toby Teeth is a 3-year-5-month old Miniature Pinscher weighing 13 pounds. He came to the shelter as a stray so his history is unknown. Adopter required to have breed knowledge/experience. Toby Teeth is a character, he has a big personality! He's affectionate on his terms, he'll jump right in your lap and give you hugs & kisses! Does not like to be picked up-don't even try until you've earned his trust!! We believe he has past trauma that has given him some trust issues and he's a typical Min Pin!. A slow approach is needed, he does not like hands above his head or on his chest. He loves treats and knows the command sit. Resource guarding with toys-will not share and DO NOT try to take it from him. Suspected separation anxiety. He has lots of energy and loves walks. Good on a leash. Loves car rides and rides well with a seat belt.Miniature Pinschers are for experienced dog owners. The Miniature Pinscher is an assertive, outgoing, active, and independent breed. Miniature pinschers are energetic and need a fenced yard to run in; they make great agility dogs. They are great escape artists and some recommend having a kennel with a lid on it for them to run around in. They are good watchdogs, as they are alert and wary of strangers. They can easily alert their owners of someone's presence, their happiness or their loneliness with their frequent high-pitched bark. It is recommended that adults and teenagers, rather than young children, play with a Miniature Pinscher as younger children play rough. Miniature Pinschers are a stubborn breed when it comes to training, but once trained they will obey commands well. His adoption fee is $150, this includes his neuter, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. His dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $21.00. Story
Bindi is a 4 year and 4 month old Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix weighing 30 pounds. She came to the shelter as an owner surrender due to not being able to provide the time and attention she needs. Potential adopters required to understand breed specific needs. Bindi is a high energy dog and needs an active family, she will not do well if left alone for any period of time. Bindi can be timid with strangers, letting her approach you is best. Once she knows you, she's a very sweet girl and loves belly rubs. Bindi is very smart, quick to listen to commands, she's been through puppy training and basic obedience classes. She loves to be outside and go on adventures, good at parks. She LOVES to play fetch, a tennis ball is her favorite toy. If she does not have a daily outlet for her energy and need to "work" or is left alone she becomes very anxious. When she becomes bored she gets herself into trouble. She is good but selective with other dogs, another dog in the home may help her thrive, she can resource guard with her toys and other dogs-supervision needed at all times with toys. Good with children over 12 who will understand her boundaries. Her adoption fee is $150, this includes her spay, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped.
