Update: Check out the new photo of Millie looking out the window ;-) She is looking for a forever home! Millie's foster said she is the perfect house dog and companion, including the best travel buddy-Millie loves road trips in the car!;-) Update: I passed my dog evaluation with flying colors and made 5 new dog friends! Hi .... I'm Miss Millie. I'm so grateful for Love-A-Stray because I was abandoned at Miller Road Park in Avon Lake, the ACO found me wrapped in a blanket;-(. I was taken to the Avon Lake Animal Clinic and after no one claimed me, I was turned over to Love-A-Stray. LAS had me vaccinated and I tested negative for HW. I received 2 medicated baths, ear meds and skin meds. I was underweight, but now I gained 6 lbs and I weigh 57 pounds. Dr Krupka said I'm 7 or 8 years old and my teeth look fantastic. I had some skin issues that are clearing up and I'm looking really GOOD! I'm in a great new foster home and my foster said I'm the perfect house dog!! I walk well on lead and I'm just a very sweet doggy! I would like a cat-less home. If you are interested in me, please submit an online application, so my friends at Love-A-Stray can determine if you are a good match. If you have questions, please email info@loveastraydog.com. LAS does not do out of state adoptions, due to our trial adoption process. My adoption fee is $ 50.00. If you can't foster or adopt me, please consider donating for my care. Visit www.loveastraydog.com for PayPal, Venmo or mail a check - Attn: Millie to LAS, PO Box 125, Avon Lake, Oh 44012. Thank you very MUCH!

Urgent! Meet Ruby Roo!! Ruby Roo is searching for a new TEMPORARY FOSTER HOME due to her current caretakers work schedule, while she waits for the perfect forever home!! Ruby Roo has some old ripped up toys from all the dogs she loves to carry around, as shown in photo. She is a young pitty weighing about 70 lbs and she is a sweetheart. Ruby is a little shy when meeting new people but after just a little bit of time and patience she warms up, especially for a treat! Ruby Roo is house trained, crate trained, knows her basic commands...she is smart and learns fast. Ruby is fully vaccinated and spayed. Ruby Roo was found running loose, no collar or microchip. A great family took her in to keep her safe and reported finding her to all the required agencies, but no one was looking for this sweet girl ;-(. They contacted Love-A-Stray to help find her a forever home. She has the funniest way of laying with her paws tucked under, as shown in photo, maybe she is praying for her new home! Ruby would do best with a male dog friend or as the only dog. Her current foster has older dogs and Ruby Roo has the typical energy of a young dog, so she is looking for a new foster or home where she can run and play. Ruby would love a fenced yard but is it not required. She has lots of energy and at 70 pounds could knock a toddler down, so we are looking for an active home with children over the age of 10 years old. If you are interested in Ruby Roo please submit an online application so we can learn a little about you to make sure Ruby Roo would be a perfect match for you and your family. We are looking for adoption within a 100 mile radius of Avon Lake Ohio, due to our trial adoption process. Adoption fee/donation is $100.00. If you have specific questions, please email the adoption coordinator at info@loveastraydog.com If you can't foster or adopt, please consider donating to help us with medical expenses and ongoing care. You can mail your donation to: Love-A-Stray, P.O. Box 125, Attn: Ruby Roo, Avon Lake, OH 44012 or visit www.loveastraydog.com for credit card/PayPal information, adoption application, available dogs and upcoming events. Thank you!

Shadow did some doggie daycare at Camp Bow Wow Westlake recently and she had a blast! She is a sweet, young female Pit mix weighing 45 lbs. Shadow is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows her basic commands (sit, stay, down). She walks well on lead. Shadow loves to play ball and run in the yard. We do not know how shadow would do living with cats so a cat-less home is best or we can arrange for a cat test with your cat. She met one cat and just seemed curious, not aggressive with the cat. Shadow is spayed, vaccinated and micro-chipped. Shadow loves everyone she meets and she would make a great forever friend! Please consider Shadow! If you are interested in Shadow, please submit an online application so we can learn a little about you to make sure Shadow would be a good match for you and your family. We do not do out of state adoptions, due to our trial adoption process. Unfortunately Nova's trial did not work out but we did learn that Nova is fantastic even with a little dog friend in the home. Nova is great for bath time and loves to ride in the car! Meet Nova!! Nova is a 3 yr old Doberman weighing 45 lbs. Nova is a compact small Dobie with your typical Doberman personality. She is loyal, athletic, energetic and super smart. Nova would love to find a home with someone that has had a Doberman and LOVES the breed! She is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows basic commands (sit, stay, down). Nova has been professionally trained and she loves to do her obedience sessions. She is food motivated and very easy to train. Nova is great with other dogs even small dogs and would do GREAT with a dog friend. She has not lived with a cat so a cat-less home would be best. All Nova needs is an owner that understands how smart she is and has time to exercise her and stimulate her brilliant mind. Nova is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. If you are interested in Nova, please submit an online application so we can learn a little about you to make sure Nova would be a good match. We do not do out of state adoptions, due to our trial adoption process. Adoption fee/donation is $200.00 If you have specific questions, please email the adoption coordinator at info@loveastraydog.com If you can't foster or adopt, please consider donating to help us with medical expenses and ongoing care. Story
Meet Brooklyn!! Brooklyn is a 2 yr old Pit mix, weighing 56 lbs. Brooklyn was pulled from the overcrowded LCDK when they were full; she had been there too long. She was sent to Roger's K9 for their board and train program. Brooklyn is doing great learning all her commands and how to be comfortable in new situations. She does need to take things slow in new situations. Brooklyn is house-trained, crate-trained, and walks well on lead. She is very smart and athletic and would love an active owner that understands her breed requirements. Brooklyn has finished her training at Rogers K9 and is looking for a foster home while we search for her forever home. Brooklyn is dog friendly but we do not know about cats so a cat-less home is best. If you are interested in Brooklyn, please submit an online application so we can learn a little about you to make sure Brooklyn would be a good match for you. Story
BIG News: Tiny hs an adoption pending ! Meet Tiny!! Tiny is a 4 1/2 yr old Lab/Pit mix weighing 62 lbs. Tiny has a very SAD story. On June 1st Tiny was taken to Paws by the Lake Pet Resort for one week boarding by his owner and he was NEVER picked up!! Tiny was abandoned at Paws ;-(. Fast forward over 11 weeks, Paws has done everything required by law to try and reunite Tiny, but his owner does not want him back! As we approach 3 months of poor Tiny in boarding, Paws reached out to Love-A-Stray to take Tiny into our rescue program. They did not want Tiny to end up at the overcrowded Lorain County Kennel so of course we said we would take him in. We had him neutered and his vaccinations updated and the growth next to his eye removed. He is a really sweet dog! Tiny is clean in his kennel, so he is house-trained, crate-trained. He knows basic commands (sit, stay, down). Tiny really deserves someone that will love him and NEVER abandon him! We are searching for a forever home or a temporary foster home so he can leave Paws. Paws is a wonderful topnotch facility, but 3 months is just way too long for any dog in boarding!! We have a trainer visiting Tiny next week for a complete evaluation but based on his behavior and interaction with the staff at Paws, who has spent a lot of time with Tiny, he is a wonderful boy! Tiny also does well with his 4 legged friend at Paws-Cooper, so we know Tiny is dog friendly ;-) . If you are interested in Tiny, please submit an online application so we can learn a little about you to make sure Tiny would be a good match for you and your family. We do not do out of state adoptions, due to our trial adoption process. Adoption fee/donation is $100.00 If you have specific questions, please email the adoption coordinator at info@loveastraydog.com If you can't foster or adopt, please consider donating to help us with medical expenses and ongoing care.
