Story
Sweet Ginger is being returned to us after being in a home about 5 months.  They loved her and are heartbroken but Ginger has high prey drive for free roaming chickens.  That being said she must have a secure fenced in yard, a privacy fence is preferred or at least one that is 5 ft high.  She seems to be fine with other dogs after a proper introduction including small ones.  Ginger could also flourish as an only dog as she loves her people.  She has not been around cats so we are unsure but based on her prey drive a home without cats would be best.   Children should be older and respectful.  Ginger is about 8 years old and 50 lbs, a nice manageable size. She is fully vetted and had a dental last fall.   Ginger is housetrained and loves to ride in the car.  She can be left with the run of the house while you are gone without issue.  Ginger has the most adorable smile, we think it is adorable.   If interested in Ginger, please email hartmanshounds@gmail.com.  Her adoption fee is $150.October 27, 2024, 7:14 pm

Meet Snoopy. Snoopy was rescued from an overcrowded shelter and was at risk of losing his life. He has had his vaccines and has now been neutered. He did test positive for Ehrlichia and is on a 14 day dose of an antibiotic. There should be no further treatment needed and he has exhibited no signs of an illness. Snoopy is currently in a foster home and is definitely dog and cat friendly. He is about a year old and a perfect size at 24 lbs. He is currently working on his house training. Snoopy may do best in a home with another dog since he is a bit shy. He may be a purebred Beagle. Due to his breed, we do request a fenced yard. Snoopy’s adoption fee is $200. Meet Rocky. Saved from an overcrowded shelter in southern OH. A great dog. Rocky appears to maybe a Husky/Shepherd mix. He is about 2 years old and 50 lbs. Rocky appears to be dog friendly. We will get an idea soon on how he is with cats. He will need regular exercise and would be great as a jogging partner. Rocky is neutered, up to date on vaccines and is heart worm negative. He did test positive for Lyme but has no clinical signs. He is in doxycycline for a month as a precaution but no further treatment will be needed. His adoption fee is $180. Meet Ftitz.  Coming to us since he faced probable euthanasia at a dog pound in southern OH. Not that anything was wrong with him they just put dogs down. We believe he about 3 years old and is a purebred Shepherd. Fritz will be a big boy once he gains the weight he desperately needs. He has gained some and is currently at 70 pounds but needs to gain more. Doesn’t seem to mind other dogs, unsure about cats. He is very friendly with all the people he has met. Fritz has now been neutered and received the balance of his vetting. He is negative on the 4dx test. He will need an active adopter who is willing to provider daily exercise and enrichment.
