**Meet China!** China is a delightful blend of affection and playfulness, ready to find her forever home! This sweet girl may start off a bit timid, needing some time to sniff around and explore her new surroundings. But once she feels safe, her true personality shines through. Having been through quite a bit in her life, China appreciates a gentle approach and the chance to build trust. With a little patience, you'll discover a loyal companion who loves to have fun! She's known for her zoomies, racing around with sheer joy before settling down for some quality lap time. China thrives on love and affection. When she's ready, she'll crawl right into your lap, offering warmth and snuggles that are truly heartwarming. She's looking for a kind-hearted family who can provide her the time and space she needs to blossom into the confident dog she's meant to be. If you're ready to give China the loving home she deserves, come meet her today! You won't regret the rewarding bond you'll form with this affectionate, wiggly girl. China has lived with another dog in the past. As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines. To meet China, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!

Story
Onyx recently went on a Dog Day Out and here's what his DDO buddy had to say! "Meet Onyx, an eight-year-old neutered male Pittie who is about 67 lbs. This adorable guy is all about affection - he lives for pets, hugs and head scritches. We spent a beautiful sunny Dog's Day Out with a long walk and chilling out in the backyard: - He's a little hesitant about jumping up in the backseat - he's willing, just has a bit of trouble doing so gracefully. But once in, he's good to go; either lying down or watching out the window as you head on down the road. - On the greenway, he was happy to walk along at a leisurely pace. He was very patient when we stopped to bird watch and/or do some wildflower identification. He showed only mild interest in other dogs, walkers or runners. - At home, he enjoyed a doggie fro-yo on the patio and then explored the backyard before taking an afternoon nap in the sun. He frequently checks in with you for some affection, and he leans on ya while your loving him up. He knows sits (especially when there is a treat involved) and shake - we're certain he could learn even more commands. He also likes to play with a ball, mostly chasing and chewing them." 2nd DDO: "In all honesty, if my house was slightly bigger Onyx would of just walked right into my house forever after our DDO. Onyx is: - an absolute love bug - wonderful in the car This guy wasn't phased by anything our day including: geese, ducks, 30+bikes at once, dogs, teenagers on zip lines, people, motorized scooters, and a bath. This senior fella is anxiously waiting to meet his forever (or foster) home. TLDR: onyx is perfect and you should adopt him" Onyx really enjoys the company of people, so he will lean against you hard for pets meaning he could potentially knock over a toddler. He's never shown an ounce of aggression but older children who don't mind being a leaning post for our sweet boy would be best! Onyx has been in a crate before. He would heavily pant and whine, but did not try to break out. We feel he could be crate trained, but he also has not been destructive when left out alone. Onyx has had positive experiences with other dogs and prefers calmer, less energetic dogs opposed to overly playful dogs. He mostly acts indifferent towards other dogs. As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines. If you are interested in meeting Onyx please contact Foster Coordinator Stephanie at (336) 937-1867 to schedule an appointment. You should receive a response text or call in 24-48 hours!

Meet Isabella, a sweet, medium-energy girl who's as affectionate as she is playful! Isabella is a curious and intelligent dog with a gentle nature, and she's ready to bring joy and love to her forever home. Whether it's exploring new places or enjoying some quiet downtime together, Isabella is the perfect companion for all types of activities. Isabella is a gentle greeter who doesn't jump up on people, making her a polite and easy-going presence when meeting new faces. She's great on the leash, walking calmly by your side, and enjoys taking her time to sniff and explore the world around her. Isabella has had positive experiences with other dogs and is friendly and social, but she would do best in a home without cats, as she may be curious and inclined to chase. When it comes to training, Isabella is a star! She loves treats, and her eagerness to please makes her a quick learner. She already knows "sit, "down, "stay, and "come, and she's always ready to learn more. Isabella enjoys the mental stimulation of training sessions, and she's sure to impress with her smarts and focus. Above all, Isabella is incredibly affectionate. She's an expert cuddler who loves snuggling up with her people, whether it's on the couch or during car rides. Speaking of car rides, she's great in the car-calm and content to relax as you go on adventures together. Isabella is also wonderful with kids, showing her gentle nature and patience, making her a fantastic family companion. If you're looking for a smart, loving, and playful dog who's great on walks, enjoys training, and loves cuddling up after a fun day of adventures, Isabella could be the perfect match for you. She's ready to find a loving family where she can continue to learn, play, and share her sweet, affectionate spirit. Could that be with you?
