**Meet Pumpkin: Your Energetic, Loyal Adventure Buddy (With a Goofy Side!)** If you're looking for a dog with a zest for life, look no further than Pumpkin! This energetic boy is always ready for the next adventure, and his enthusiasm is truly contagious. Whether it’s playing fetch, going for a hike, or learning new tricks, Pumpkin’s boundless energy and curiosity make him the perfect companion for anyone who loves to be on the move. Pumpkin is a loyal, “bro” type of dog who will be your best friend through thick and thin. He’s incredibly devoted to his people and loves spending time with his humans. Always up for a game of fetch, Pumpkin has a serious love for toys—and he’s all about the tough, durable ones! If you're thinking of getting him some new playthings, make sure they're strong enough to keep up with his playful spirit. Toys are a fantastic way to engage his mind and body, and they've already helped him learn "sit" and "leave it" in his short time with his foster family. He’s always eager for a training session, especially when toys are involved! But here's the thing—Pumpkin is a bit of a goofy guy! He’s got a playful, larger-than-life personality and doesn’t always recognize his size. He thinks he's a lap dog and will happily try to curl up on your lap, no matter how big he is! His affectionate nature makes him a lovable companion, but his exuberance and "lap dog" mindset might be a little much for homes with toddlers or small children. He’s a big guy with a big heart, so he may do best in a home with older children or adults who can match his energy and sense of humor. Though Pumpkin is crate-trained, he’s not the biggest fan of being confined and may whine a bit before settling down. With a little patience, though, he does well in his crate and will soon be content to rest in his cozy space when needed. One of Pumpkin’s best qualities is his manners around the house. He’s well-behaved when it comes to telling you he needs to go outside, and he’s respectful during mealtime, never begging or being rude when you’re eating. It’s clear he’s a smart and thoughtful boy who’s eager to learn more! Pumpkin would thrive in a home that matches his energy and love for adventure. Whether it’s a hike in the mountains, a walk in the park, or a fun game of fetch in the backyard, Pumpkin will be right there with you, wagging his tail and ready for action. He’s the epitome of “man’s best friend” and will be your loyal companion through all of life’s adventures. If you’re looking for an energetic, goofy, fun-loving dog who will be by your side through thick and thin, Pumpkin is the one for you! Get ready for lots of playtime, training sessions, and outdoor adventures with this amazing boy. Just don’t forget to stock up on some strong toys—he’s got a playful side that’s ready to take on anything!

Story
Meet Grizzle Grizzle is a sweet Siberian Husky mix with a charming personality. He loves a slow morning of sleeping in as much as he loves a good afternoon on the boat, a car ride with his head out the window, snuggles on the couch, or learning a new trick. Personality & Behavior: Initially reserved, Grizzle has come out of his shell and is now a loving and affectionate companion. He responds well to treat-based training and has learned commands like "sit, "lay, "paw, and "off. Grizzle loves learning new tricks and being challenged. He would benefit from a family that can spend time training him. Grizzle loves adventure, whether it's hiking, a boat ride, a roadtrip, a run, or just a short afternoon walk. He is his best self when he gets to experience a sense of exploration often and would thrive with an active family who can keep him stimulated. Daily Life and Needs: Grizzle needs a secure, fenced yard because he will test the boundaries if given the chance, as most huskies do. Once he has realized there are no escape routes though, he usually settles down to enjoy basking in the sun and laying in the grass. Crate and Potty Training: Grizzle is your typical Husky, as in he likes to talk - occasionally. Grizzle will go in a crate with a treat, however, he does have crate and separation anxiety - when left alone, he tends to howl and bark. He does best when he's allowed to free roam, he is polite and generally minds his manners when we are gone. For these reasons, we think Grizzle would do best in a home with a strong fence where someone is around frequently. He's not well-suited for apartment living due to his vocal nature. Grizzle is house broken but seems to only have accidents when left in his crate, which could be anxiety induced and is why we allow him to free roam the house when we leave. Grizzle does a good job at letting us know when he needs to go to the bathroom and when he is not in a crate, he is great with not using the bathroom inside. Children and Other Animals: Grizzle has not been around children, so his behavior with them is unknown. He is good at communicating his boundaries though and based on his current demeanor, he might be best suited for a home with older children or no children at all, as he prefers not to be unexpectedly grabbed or touched. Grizzle is currently adjusting to living with goats and a cat. While he's shown a relaxed demeanor around them, he still requires careful supervision. He's curious about the cat but generally maintains a respectful distance. At this time it seems he is selective of the dogs he wants to be around - slow introductions are important to Grizzle. Grizzle is a sweet and gentle companion who is looking for a loving family that can provide him with the care and attention he needs. If you're ready to welcome a devoted friend into your home, Grizzle might be the perfect fit! To schedule a meetup with Grizzle you can text Lee at 336-298-6798

Story
**Meet Chalk – Your Future Adventure Buddy!** Chalk is a sweet, loving boy who’s ready to start the next chapter of his life with a family that’s up for fun and adventure! He’s got a heart full of affection and a spirit that’s always ready to explore. Whether it's hiking through the woods or cruising down the highway, Chalk is the perfect travel companion, especially since he *loves* car rides! This energetic pup is still learning his leash manners, and while he can pull a bit when excited, he’s a quick learner and highly treat-motivated. With a little training and decompression after his time in the shelter, Chalk will be walking nicely in no time! He’s got the basics down already—he knows how to *sit* and takes treats gently from your hand. You can even use his love for toys to help with training! Chalk is also a pro snuggler and will happily curl up with you after a long walk or play session, ready to share all the love and warmth you could ask for. He’s crate trained and comfortable when it’s time to relax in his own space. While he’s still working on house training, he’s making great progress! With some patience, consistency, and a little more time to settle in, Chalk’s house training will vastly improve—especially once he’s fixed. This pittopotamus has had positive interactions with cats who stand their ground. When hissed at and told “no”, he walked away and ignore them the rest of his Weekend Getaway stay. With slow intros, we think he’d excel in a home with cats! Chalk would thrive in a home where he can get plenty of love, mental stimulation, and, of course, lots of fun adventures. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful, and loyal companion, Chalk is your boy! Are you ready to start your next adventure with Chalk? He’s waiting to meet you!
