Story
Tebow recently went on a Dog Day Out and here's what his DDO buddy had to say! "Meet my new friend TEBOW!!!Dogs Day Out with him today - We had a blast together, what an awesome dog! I am sure this boy will be in a forever home soon... he's too sweet to be in the shelter. Please SHARE with friends, neighbors, coworkers... Let's get Tebow out of the shelter and into a home When I first got him he had a bunch of pent up energy, but after having a day to run and be free he calmed way down. He even curled up for a short nap. Here are things I learned: Likes being in the car. He sat well in the back seat but would have preferred to be sitting up front. By the end of the day he curled up and slept as I drove. This boy LOVES a tennis ball. He loved to race around with it in his mouth or just roll around in the ground with it. If you asked him for it he would let you take it, but he was just as happy to carry it around with him. He took treats very gently and enjoyed them. He even allowed me to take treat away he was chewing on with no aggression at all. Affectionate - loves being pet with scratches behind his ears and belly rubs. He will lean into you for more pets. Good on leash - On our first walk immediately after leaving the kennel he thought he was a sled dog. We changed our itinerary and went to my fenced yard so he could get out some energy. We then took two more walks during our time together and he was great. He walked very well and only pulled when a chipmunk ran right in front of him. He got pretty excited when we saw other dogs. Seemed like he really wanted play and couldn't understand why I wouldn't let him go say hello. He did use his voice to say his hello from a distance. He loved every person he met (and I introduced him to a bunch!). He went right up to them and wanted a pet! Didn't see any small kids so not sure how he would be with them, but had no problem with teenagers. He is smaller than he appears in pics. Adorable face of a Rottweiler but his body is only about half the size of a rotty. Super soft coat. Then say he is 4 years old, but seems younger to me. I think he had a really fun day and I know I had a great time with him! He is an awesome dog, please come see him at Guilford County Animal Services from 12-4pm (except Tuesdays). Come get 'em!

Story
Godiva recently went on a Dog Day Out and here's what her DDO buddy had to say! "Meet Godiva. 6 year old, spayed, magnificent, perfect lady mastiff. Once I got her to jump in the backseat she was perfect. Just sat or laid down and enjoyed the ride. Godiva loves treats and takes them so gently. She knows sit. She is perfect in the house. House trained and nondestructive. She did not go up the steps. She may be scared of steps. She also is happy laying on the floor and not the couch or a doggy bed. She is not interested in toys too much or maybe I didn't have her favorites but she wouldn't play with them at all. She just kicked the ball away from her. Lol I gave her a bath outside and didn't even have to hold her. She stood there so nice and calm and let me scrubba scrubba. Godiva is perfect on a leash. She pulls some when she wants to sniff but then gets right back on track. Godiva is very affectionate. She loves pets and will nudge your hand to help encourage you to pet her more. She gives gentle kisses and loves to be with you. She was affectionate with me and my boyfriend. I have not heard her bark at all. She is low energy and just enjoys relaxing and being with her people. Godiva is a big girl but VERY gentle. She'd be a perfect pet for anyone who has a roomy house and yard for her to relax in." Godiva is listed as No Small Children because she is a leisurely, older girl who enjoys her peace in life. However, she does just fine meeting children out in public! Godiva is definitely a lover. She is like your shadow and will follow you around the house. She is a chill dog but if you want to go for a walk or play with the ball she's down to do that with you and definitely can do it with some pep in her step! Godiva loves getting pet and it's hard to resist those puppy dog eyes. She's a thick girl but a gentle giant. As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines. If you are interested in meeting Godiva please contact Kendelle Federico at 336-266-4138 via text message or email kfederico@guilfordcountync.gov.

Story
Meet Chief, the big, goofy 3-year-8-month-old boy who’s ready to find a home full of love and attention! Weighing in at 88 lbs, Chief is a gentle giant who thrives on interaction with his humans. He absolutely loves being petted and enjoys spending time with his family. When it comes to toys, he’s super engaged and loves playing with them – he’s very interactive and will happily entertain you with his fun-loving nature. Chief can be a bit demanding when it comes to snackies, but he does know how to settle into a polite sit for a treat! He may pull on the leash during walks, but once he’s had the chance to burn off some energy, he tends to do better and walks with more ease. This lovable boy does have some separation anxiety, so he’ll need a home where someone is around more often than not to give him the attention he craves. The good news is that he is crate trained, so he’s comfortable when it’s time to settle down. Chief would thrive in a home that can provide plenty of mental and physical stimulation to keep him happy and engaged. While Chief does jump up to get attention, he is easily redirected, making him a great fit for a family who’s willing to continue working with him on his manners. If you're looking for a fun, affectionate, and interactive companion who loves to play and be loved on, Chief could be the perfect addition to your home! As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines. To meet your future pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!

Story
Meet Dobby, the house elf of your dreams—except, instead of magic, he’s got a tail that wags in excitement and a heart full of love! Dobby is house and crate trained, so there’s no need to worry about any “mischief” in the house. He’s well-behaved in public, although he might occasionally bark to say “hello” to those who crosses his path—he just can’t help himself, he’s so friendly! When it comes to walks, Dobby’s a “wand-erful” leash walker in the neighborhood, but when out and about, he might pull in excitement—he just has a bit of a “spell” of adventure! He’s also a master at fetch and LOVES toys—especially tough chew toys that’ll stand up to his magical chewing powers. After a walk, he’ll either be snuggled up on his dog bed or curled next to you, relaxing like the “elf” of the house he is. Dobby is also an excellent car rider—he’s calm and ready for any adventure, as long as he’s with you. He’s done well with children, but due to his excitement, he may jump up in joy—so older children who can handle his enthusiasm would be ideal! When Dobby first arrived, he had alopecia (no magic here for instant fur growth), but he’s slowly regrowing it—just in time for sweater weather, which he LOVES to wear. In warmer months, he’ll need some pet-safe sunscreen to keep him protected as he enjoys the sunshine. Treat-motivated and eager to please, Dobby is a loyal companion who’s ready to share his love with his new family. If you’re looking for a truly “charmed” dog who’s got the perfect balance of play and relaxation, Dobby’s ready to join your household and make it magical! Dobby has had very positive experiences with other dogs. He does sometimes bark to try to get their attention, so he'd do best with a canine pal who can tolerate this at times. As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines. We also think Dobby could potentially learn to live with cats. To meet Dobby, text his foster mom Anne at (336) 451-4159 to make an appointment!

Story
Meet Tin Tin! This fun and affectionate girl is ready to bring joy and love into her forever home. Tin Tin is full of energy, and while she may start off strong on leash, she lightens up once she’s had the chance to burn off some of that playful energy. She’s a social butterfly and gets so excited to meet new people, greeting them with a gentle, wiggly wag of her tail that’s sure to make you smile. Although Tin Tin is a sweet and friendly girl, she can be a bit nervous in new situations—like riding in a car or being out in public. But don’t worry, Tin Tin looks to her human for guidance and reassurance. She’s still building confidence and would thrive in a home where her adopter can help her grow, offering her patience and encouragement along the way. Tin Tin gets along well with other dogs, and she seems to enjoy the company of low to medium energy canine friends. She’s a social pup who loves having a dog buddy around, so a companion who shares her playstyle could be just what she needs to continue building her confidence. If you’re looking for a sweet, loving, and fun dog to add to your family, Tin Tin could be the perfect match! She’s ready for a home that will give her the love, patience, and support she needs to blossom into her full potential. Come meet her today and see if she’s the one for you! Tin Tin is currently being fostered by Hounds Town Greensboro-Guilford Doggie Daycare and is available for adoption. She can be adopted directly from the facility after an approved application from GCAS has been submitted to us and you've met Tin Tin in person. If you'd like to meet Tin Tin, please contact their facility to set up a time! Story
Meet Naomi! This sweet 7.5-year-old lady is a little bit chonky at 57 pounds, but that only adds to her lovable, snuggly charm. Naomi is the perfect balance of play and relaxation. She has medium energy and enjoys her playtime with toys (especially the ones she gets to destroy – but don’t worry, she’s not a stuffing eater!). She loves spending time with her canine foster sibling, but what Naomi really loves most is snuggling. Whether it’s curling up with her foster mom, dad, or canine brother, she’s always up for a cozy doggy pile and will never pass up a good cuddle session. Naomi is an easygoing girl on leash – she’s strong for the first few minutes, but settles into a steady pace with just a bit of mild pulling. She’s also crate trained and does well with strangers, making her a well-mannered companion. Naomi is treat-motivated, which might explain her adorable curves, and she rides well in the car, too. If you're looking for a loving and affectionate companion to keep you warm on chilly nights, Naomi just might be the perfect match. Naomi gets along very well with her canine foster brother. She does best with buddy walks to introduce herself. We always encourage slow introductions to ensure smooth transitions! As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines. To meet Naomi, text her foster mom Emily at (571) 388-0008 to make an appointment!
