Story
Introducing Josie! This gentle girl is leash trained, crate trained, house trained, spayed and up to date on all shots. With a little coaching, she’s a great listener and even takes commands from her three year old foster human brother. She’s the sweetest girl, loves belly rubs, is great with kids and gets along well with other dogs. While she loves to be around her humans, she is fine home alone as well. She can be timid when meeting new people, but warms up quickly. Josie would make a great addition to any home where she becomes a true member of the family, especially if you invite her in the recliner. Don't miss out on this special girl! Submit your application today at www.southcharlottedogrescue.com!

Story
IzzyDillute Blue Piebald Longhair Dachshund5 (ish)10 poundsFostered in Raleigh Short version: Super friendly, Loves to Snuggle, needs work on housetraining, crate trained, leashtrained, apartment friendly, working family friendly, no cats, good with kids over 5, on slow kill treatment for heartworms Izzy is literally the friendliest and sweetest girl on the planet. She wags her tail constantly and LOVES everyone that she meets.  When we first met Izzy, she was sitting in a cage at a rural shelter covered in her own urine. She had just been removed by animal control from her home along with 35 of her fur siblings. Instead of being scared and timid, this girl was instantly giving us kisses and jumping into our arms. Izzy’s life goal is to be a walmart greeter and she would be a perfect pup to take on outings – brewreys, walks, a dog friendly office – Izzy would be a great wingman. And her unique coloring and coat is a great conversation starter to make new friends. And to answer the question that you will be asked a million times – Izzy is a blue dillute long hair piebald. Because of the dillute coloring her blue piebald spots have alopecia, meaning there is no hair on the spots. And it’s super adorable next to her long white hair. It doesn’t cause her discomfort or need treatment, although some supplments can help. Because of the horrific conditions she lived in previously, she has yellow urine stains on her legs and back end even with many baths. They may fade over time, but her new family should be OK with a permenant reminder of her very rough start. Izzy would do great with most families and set up – other than cats. She barks at the cat, but does not chase. She gets along with other dogs, but would be OK as an only if someone was home most of the time.  Because she wants to be as near you as possible, she often gets tangled up in your feet and is a tripping hazard – so she would not be a fit for an owner with mobility issues. She does great with her foster mom’s full time work schedule so working families are no issue. She’s also successfully living in an apartment so shared walls in a condo or an apartment are no problem as well. She would be great in a family with kids over 5 or visiting younger kids. Izzy does fabulous in a crate and walks well on a leash. However, she is still working on potty training so her new family will need to continue to work on housetraining. Izzy is up to date on shots, was spayed and had a dental cleaning. She is heartworm positive and currently on the slow kill treatment, which we can explain in detail to interested applicants. Our rescue will pay for treatment until she tests negative, which is usually around a year. Her new family will need to drive to her foster home in Raleigh NC – no transports. We prefer to adopt to applicants in NC, VA, SC, northern GA, eastern TN, and DC area. Story
Meet Sandy, a sweet and loving puppy who’s looking for her forever home! Sandy is a little shy and takes her time to warm up to new things, but she’s getting braver every day. She’s currently in a confidence training class, and with each session, she’s building more trust and becoming more confident. Sandy would do best in a home with older children who can give her the space and patience she needs to feel comfortable. She’s already crate trained and potty trained, which makes her a great addition to any household. She’s also very sweet and loves attention from her people. If you’re looking for a gentle and kind pup who’s working hard to become more confident, Sandy might be the perfect match for you! ##1961248##
