Story
Meet Selena! This super sweet, energetic, and loving girl is ready for her forever home! She is an absolute goofball and is welcoming to any and everyone. It's hard not to fall in love with her. Selena is fully potty trained and has had no accidents despite recently living in a boarding facility. Selena is a high energy dog who loves to run around and burn off lots of energy! Her favorite thing to do is go on a long walk at the end of the day. Selena would thrive with an owner who can dedicate a couple of hours a day of exercising her. Selena would best fit in a home with no cats or small animals given her history of liking to chase small animals. Selena is quite the escape artist and can break out of a normal wire crate. She is also super snuggly and loves getting lots of attention. She does have a heart murmur that has been assessed by a cardiologist - she has no symptoms, so she is currently on a twice a day pill that she takes in a treat! If you're looking for a sweet, cuddly, and energetic pup, Selena might be the perfect match for you!Adoption fee of $150 includes spay, microchip, vaccines, deworming, heartworm testing, and heartworm/flea/tick preventionApply here: https://2pawsup.org/applications/adoption-application/November 3, 2024, 1:08 am

Story
Eros is all the puppy energy you could ask for in a fully grown medium sized dog. Sweet, smart and easy to train, this boy loves to play with dogs, cats, and people. He's crate trained and house trained. This little pit mix is the definition of super chewer! He loves to gnaw gnaw gnaw his toys, so teeth-safe durable toys are a must! He will happily take on destuffing a plush toy, though he tends to try to ingest anything he shreds, so supervised destuffing is necessary.Eros LOVES couches! He has shown little interest in sleeping on the bed with his foster siblings/parents. His go-to sleep, nap, and sit place is the couch.Eros would love a dog sibling to play with, and while he likes cats, he can be a bit much, so any feline siblings need to be dog savvy and have places to get up and away from his antics. He is learning leash manners, but will need continued education in this area. He's not aggressive, just impatient and overly excited to gogogo.Adoption fee of $150 includes neuter, microchip, vaccines, deworming, heartworm testing, and heartworm/flea/tick preventionApply here: https://2pawsup.org/applications/adoption-application/November 3, 2024, 1:08 am

Story
Sasha is such a sweet girl. She was brought to the shelter full of milk and emaciated. It was obvious she had a tough start to life. This sweet girl deserves her happily ever after. She is extremely loving and doesn't know a stranger. She is happy to meet anyone as long as they provide tons of head scratches. She's doing well with potty, leash and crate training. She will need someone to continue her lessons. She's very smart and treat motivated. She is very excited when meeting new dogs and has done well with them off her home turf. Sasha is protective of her home, so it is important that she be the only pet.  Apply to meet Sasha and you're sure to get a new best friend. Adoption fee of $150 includes spay, microchip, vaccines, deworming, heartworm testing, and heartworm/flea/tick preventionApply here: https://2pawsup.org/applications/adoption-application/November 3, 2024, 1:08 am

Story
Hellllooooooooooo! I’m Owen the hound mix and I am just as loving and fun as any golden retriever! I was lucky to find my way to Neuse River Golden Retriever Rescue from Alabama when I was just a sick little puppy. I’ve been in 2 foster homes who helped me heal and have helped me learn what they call “good dog things”. I had some infections and a problem with one of my legs but that has gotten so much better. I’m here looking for my forever home. I’ve met a lot of people who think that I’m adorable and sweet but we haven’t met “the one” yet. I just went to a temporary foster home while my foster mama traveled for a week, and I was a great house guest and they fell a little in love with me. So we know “the one” is out there. I’m a medium energy kind of guy. I like a little running and sniffing in the yard, maybe a walk of a mile or so, some playing with dog friends - and then I’m ready for a good nap. I’m the kind of dog that is good with other dogs - I have higher energy dog friends that I run and wrestle with, and there are older dogs in my foster home that I know to just hang out with ‘cause they don’t like to run and wrestle. I know how to do my business outside and I have never had an accident in my foster home. I also know that my crate is my happy chill place and I’m glad to go in there for meals and rest time. My favorite things are exploring and sniffing, getting attention and love, playing in the hose and naps. My foster mom says I am an adorable goofball and I make her laugh a lot. I know all the basic stuff like sit, down, come, stay, how to walk nicely on leash. I love going places in the car and I’m good in public. If you think my ears are cool and if you are an adults-only home, reach out to your person to reach out to my person and let’s meet!

Story
Meet Cyprus! This sweetie originally came from the mountains right before the hurricane hit. He made it out just in time! He has such a playful personality, and loves to hang with both canines and humans. So far we've seen an easy-going, go with the flow play style with this guy - so he should fit in well with your pack or be a great first dog! He does appear to be housetrained already, so you can forego the messy puppy stage with this dapper dude!Adoption fee of $150 includes neuter, microchip, vaccines, deworming, heartworm testing, and heartworm/flea/tick preventionApply here: https://2pawsup.org/applications/adoption-application/November 18, 2024, 1:39 am

Story
My name is Finnegan and I am a happy-go-lucky kind of guy! Just look at the smile on my face! I am very engaged with my humans and am so happy for the love they give me. I have changed so much since being in my foster homes! I live with my foster parents, foster brother and feline sister. I haven’t been around little humans yet! I love my snuggle times and if you leave my crate open at night, I might sneak up on your bed in the morning for some cuddle time! I am happy to go into my crate when you go out and at bedtime. I have earned my foster’s trust so that she does leave me for short periods of time outside my crate and I am a good boy. I am perfectly housebroken and will come to you, wiggle or bark to let you know I need to go out. Mostly, I am happy with a scheduled outdoor time. I like my walks but am happy to do what I need to in the back yard, but most importantly I like to be where you are! My foster Mom says I am the sweetest and most perfectly well-behaved indoor dog ever! I will self-entertain myself with playing ball and I will play well with other dogs once I am introduced. I love hanging out with my foster brother but sometimes we are happy to be our own dog. I love to fetch and will return the ball and sit for a treat. I also know basic commands of off, up, sit and stay. I will walk loose on a leash but can be reactive and pull really hard when I see other dogs and small animals but we are working on this and I am making progress every day. My foster gets my attention with a click sound and throws me a treat and I catch it midair! That helps keep me stay focused when walking so that I don’t care about critters around me and if you have a quiet neighborhood that would be great! I do like to bark (usually at squirrels, outside voices or delivery trucks) but am easily distracted with a treat or a toy and told it is ok. When I meet new people, I might bark at them, but after a slow introduction, I am fine and then go to them for kisses or treats. I am a gentle sweet boy who is all bark! If you work from home, and would love a dedicated buddy then I am your guy! Meet & Greets are not my favorite place because it is so busy for me, but my foster Mom would be happy to set up a play date to meet! I am ready for some TV time with my forever person and I can’t wait to meet you!
