Story
Lorelai came in with 3 other dogs as a stray and had a full healthy litter of puppies only two days after her entry into the shelter. She raised 4 beautiful babies that were her joy! Her babies and 3 dog friends have since moved on from the shelter, leaving Lorelai the only one left out of the 8! She keeps a clean kennel when she is let out to potty regularly, and has been working tirelessly on her leash manners- which she has excelled at. She likes to run and play, and other dogs who run and play with her bring out the best side of Lorelai. She doesn’t like when a leash pulls on her neck, but doesn’t pull on the leash excessively. She just needs to be reminded every so often that it’s okay when she feels the pull of a leash. Because of this, a fenced area may be preferred so she can have room to stretch her legs. She is very toy and food motivated, and is a very quick learner. She is working on her “rummaging” as well, as we believe she had been hungry for a bit when she came in and had to find her food on her own. The more she learns that she will no longer go without food or love, the better she gets every day with her tiny quirks that makes up her extremely bright and lovable personality. Lorelai will soon be spayed, and is up to date on vaccines and can be microchipped upon adoption. Come meet her at 442 Landfill Rd Mt Gilead NC 27306 for a chance to welcome in this ray of sunshine to your home!

Story
Miss Penny here gets her name from being confident that she is as “pretty as a Penny”. She is a beautiful girl with a confident voice-but doesn’t overuse it either. She loves to be around other dogs who interact with her at her energy level, which is fairly calm. She has mastered being a good girl, with her abilities being house trained, crate trained, and simple commands. However, she is very treat motivated and will learn more commands very fast. She walks great on a leash, making her a possible candidate for walking with kids or someone elderly! Penny is the type of girl to greet everyone that comes her way, making sure to get a head scratch before continuing on her way. She would be great as a single dog or in a multi dog home, with just one human family member or multiple, as long as she gets a little attention every now and then and a cozy place to rest her head at night. She is ready to be your front porch sitting, sunset watching, car ride savvy pup today. Don’t hesitate to come meet her, you won’t regret it!

Story
Blue came in with his best friend, Betty, and has shown amazing progress in his short time with us. He is very treat and toy motivated and learns very quickly. He will let you know when he has to go out to potty, and happily walks on a leash right next to you. He gets very excited over tennis balls and will try to carry more than one at a time! He likes to play much like Betty, and shares a lot in common with her. But he does great with meeting and interacting with other dogs as well and enjoys time being able to stretch his legs and play fetch. We are still learning more about Blue, and encourage you to come meet him! He is fully vaccinated, dewormed, neutered, and will be microchipped upon adoption.

Story
Bub, short for Bubba, came in with his two other siblings and his mom. He was very shy, not wanting to interact at all. We have worked with him on his social skills and he now wants to say hello to everyone he sees and loves hearing how proud we are of him. He is sure to impress you, with not only his enthusiasm about life in general, but also his striking appearance. He still needs some command training and potty training, but learns in the snap of a finger with a tasty treat and some encouragement. Sometimes new things and situations are still a little overwhelming to him, but he reads the room very well and will follow his humans confidence very easily and will warm up fast. He does good with other dogs that like to play, but very high energy dogs may frighten him as he is more submissive. Bub is ready to show off his brand new found confidence and promises to make you fall in love with him at first sight. He knows he is good looking, after all! Come meet this friendly little fellow today!
