URGENT Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Grand Rapids, MI Meet Tiga! She is an 3 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 35 lbs. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on shots, but isn’t on heartworm prevention. Tiga hasn’t been tested around older children or cats. No younger children or dogs, due to her reactivity! She is housebroken and crate-trained. The owner is surrendering her because she doesn’t do well with younger children. She needs to go by 1/28! If you think you can provide a great home for Tiga, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Tiga. Owner’s Contact Information: Kassidy at kjnoyes2@gmail.com.

Story
Name: Stan Breed Guess: Large Mixed Breed Age: 3.5 years old Gender: Neutered Male Weight: 60 pounds Requires fenced in yard: Yes Shelter Temperament: Friendly & Playful Children: No Cats: NO!!! Dogs: Meet and Greet Required Adoption fee: $125 Likes: Playing outside and with squeaky toys, snacks, snuggling with staff and volunteers, and ear rubs Hi, I'm Stan and I have been at the ARP for over a year now. I am a very special boy and I'm looking for my perfect home. In short, this home would have me as their only pet (or potentially with a calmer/submissive dog) and only consist of adults. I am fearful towards children, as they do such unpredictable things. I am also fearful of men at first, but I am working on it and I do have some male friends! I have anxiety, but I am on Prozac, and it helps me a bunch. I will need to stay on my medication, as it makes a drastic improvement for me. My dream home would have a fenced yard as I love to lounge around outside, it is my favorite activity (unless it is raining). I am great on walks, until big huge loud trucks zoom by; I will bark and spin in circles to show my distaste. I love dog beds, the bigger the better! You will catch me rearranging my room constantly, it has to be perfect. I do not tear things up; I keep all my things as nice as possible. I love my people a lot, and cuddles are amazing, especially when I get belly rubs. I am highly treat motivated and super trainable. The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed. Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet. Please understand that these animals are still new to us and their needs and requirements can change at any time as we learn more about them. We will try our best to get them updated online as soon as possible. All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. All dogs are also microchipped. Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.

Name: Billy Bob Breed Guess: Treeing Walker Coonhound/Beagle Mix Age: 4 years Gender: Neutered Male Weight: 35 pounds Children: 18+ Cats: No Dogs: No Adoption fee: $125 Hello, I'm Billy Bob. I love getting attention from people, especially when they brush me or give me lots of pets. I like to go on long walks where I can smell all of the amazing things around. My nose can take me far, especially when there are food smells. I'm a good dog but I have some behavioral issues when it is time to wake up; please talk to the staff about these special needs. My forever home should be prepared to use a crate with me. I've been at the ARP since 11/11/24 and am currently located at the shelter.
