Story
Ollie is a loving, playful, cuddle bug of a best friend! He is an 8 year old pit/lab mix that I've had for 5 years. Ollie is good with cats and other dogs. Up to date on vaccines and is in good health. Ollie loves to be your best friend. He will often tag along as you roam around the house with a toy in his mouth and a wagging tail, just happy to be a part of your life. He enjoys a good play session and is a big fan of walks. I'd love to keep Ollie but my life is moving in a different direction. Within the next 18 months I'll be moving and traveling abroad a lot, I won't be able to care for a dog. He's been an amazing companion but I won't be able to keep him when I move and I'd love to see him find a loving home and a new best friend before then. I really just want to find the best possible match for this guy.

Meet Dots — proof that spots = personality.Dots is a young female pointer mix with a gorgeous dark chocolate and white coat, generously sprinkled with spots like a very energetic cookie. She has endless energy, zero chill, and an absolute love for playing with other dogs. If there’s a game of chase happening, Dots is already winning it.She’s playful, curious, and currently living her best life with no concept of manners or commands (yet!). Dots will definitely need training, but she’s smart, enthusiastic, and ready to learn—she just hasn’t read the rulebook so far. With consistency, structure, and exercise, she’s going to shine.Dots will need a home with a secure fenced yard where she can safely zoom, explore, and burn off that turbo-powered energy. Because she’s high-energy and still figuring out her impulse control, we recommend older kids who can keep up with her enthusiasm. No cats, please—Dots thinks everyone wants to play at full speed, and that’s a bit much for feline friends. If you’re looking for a dog who will keep you active, laughing, and maybe enrolling in a training class or two, Dots is ready to spot her way right into your heart! If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is SPONSORED.

Meet Tootie! ??Hi there! My name is Tootie, and I’m a 7 month old tiny bundle of joy just waiting to zoom into your heart. I’m full of energy and absolutely love flying around the yard—seriously, I’m basically a blur of happiness when I get going!I get along great with other small dogs, so I’d be thrilled to have some furry friends to play with. I’m also super curious about the world around me—there’s always something new to sniff, explore, or investigate!Oh, and did I mention treats? Because I love treats. They’re pretty much the way to my heart (along with belly rubs, of course).People say I’m the cutest little dog you’ll ever meet—and I won’t argue with that! But more than anything, I’m just looking for a loving home where I can share all my playful energy and sweet personality. I am working on perfecting my housetraining skills, so please bring your patience and understanding. If you’re ready for a fun, affectionate, and adorable companion, I might just be your perfect match. ??Adopt Tootie today and let the adventures begin!!!!!!By Appointment Only!!!!If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is $500

Story
Graf is a 2½-year-old Australian Shepherd whose striking looks are only matched by his gentle spirit. This handsome boy was found in a park, sadly surviving by eating from a garbage can, and no one ever came forward to claim him. While Graf is on the thin side right now, he’s already on the road to recovery and would thrive with a healthy diet, good care, and lots of love.Graf can be quite shy when meeting new people and tends to feel most comfortable around women. Because of this, he’s looking for a quiet, low-traffic home where he can feel safe and settle in at his own pace. He would do best in a household with children over 15, and any children would need to meet him prior to adoption to make sure everyone is a good match. What Graf would truly love most is a female-only home where he can receive the time, patience, and TLC he deserves. However, homes with men may still be considered, as long as they understand that building trust with Graf will take time and gentle effort. Any men in the household will need to meet him beforehand and be willing to go slowly as he learns that people can be kind.Graf may also benefit from living with another confident, friendly dog who can help show him that the world—and the humans in it—aren’t so scary after all. Having a canine companion could help him gain confidence and learn the joys of being part of a family.Because of his sensitive nature, training would be highly beneficial for Graf and his new owner. Positive, patient training can help build trust, strengthen their bond, and give Graf the confidence he needs to flourish.Graf has been through a lot in his young life, but with the right home, he has so much love to give. If you’re willing to offer patience, understanding, and a gentle heart, Graf just might become the most loyal companion you’ve ever known. If you are adopting Graf or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, they are open M-F from 10am-4pm.Adoption fee: $100

Meet Mars!Hi, my name is Mars, and I’m a sweet, sensitive soul with a playful side just waiting to shine. I can be a little shy and timid at first, but once I get to know you and feel comfortable, I really come out of my shell. Then you’ll see my favorite things—hopping, jumping, and having a blast in the yard!I get along really well with other dogs, especially those who enjoy a fun, playful style like I do and are not on the dominant side. Having a dog buddy could be a big confidence booster for me. I’d do best in a home with older children who understand that I may need some patience while I settle in.I’m looking for a cat-free home, and I’d really benefit from basic training to help build my confidence and help me be the best dog I can be. With consistency, kindness, and a little time, I know I’ll thrive. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who blossoms with love and understanding, I just might be your guy.If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is sponsored by one of the wonderful friends of MCAC!

Story
Say hello to Forrest, a 5-month-old German Shepherd puppy with soft eyes, big ears, and a heart that’s just starting to figure out how wonderful the world can be.Forrest was found as a stray, so he’s still learning that people can be kind, homes can be safe, and toys are way more fun than wandering the streets. Despite his rough start, he’s an incredibly sweet and gentle boy who just wants someone to show him the ropes.Right now, Forrest is a little shy and still building his confidence, but once he feels comfortable, his playful puppy energy shines through. And trust us—there’s plenty of it! Like most young shepherds, he’s very high energy and will thrive with an active family who can keep both his body and brain busy.Being a puppy, Forrest is still working on his manners. He gets excited and likes to jump up to say hello, so he’ll need some training and guidance as he grows. The good news? Shepherds are incredibly smart, and with the right leadership he has all the potential to grow into an amazing companion.Ideal home:An owner with German Shepherd experience who understands the breed and can help guide him as he maturesA family ready for training, structure, and lots of exerciseOlder kids only, since his enthusiasm and jumping could be a bit much for little onesA home that will continue building his confidence and social skillsOther animals:Friendly with other dogs, though he tends to be submissive and a bit shy at firstCats should be supervised while he learns proper mannersForrest is still a baby with a big future ahead of him. With patience, training, and love, he’s going to grow into a loyal, devoted dog who will stand proudly by his person’s side.My adoption fee is 350
