Meet Harley! LONG-TERM GLDR RESIDENT! LOVES ALL PEOPLE & KIDS! PLEASE GIVE HER A CHANCE! This adorable boxer babe is three years old and weighs in around 60 pounds. She is eagerly awaiting a family that will love her for the wonderful pup she is! We are happy to announce Harley is back in foster and she is so thrilled to be there! Always out to impress, she is both crate-trained and house-trained! A bright and eager learner, Harley is ready to show off her skills! She knows commands like sit, down, shake, and off! With the help of high-value treats, she's ready to learn even more! When it comes time to play, she is ready and willing to have a good time! She likes her stuffed toys and enjoys chasing a ball. Playing tug is her favorite! A fenced in yard for her to romp in is a must for this fun-loving pup! Harley enjoys going for walks and does best when harnessed. Up for exploring? She rides well in the car and is ready to join you on all of your adventures! At the end of a fun-filled day, Harley is perfectly content to spend her day lounging inside with her people. She enjoys snuggling in with cozy blankets on her favorite spot on the couch. She sleeps quietly through the night, grateful for foster family and hopeful her forever family will soon come her way. Based on our evaluation, Harley would do best in an active home with adults or families with kids ages eight and up. She has lived with kids before and adores them! Although Harley is dog selective, we feel she would do best as the only animal in the home. She needs an experienced adopter who is ready to train her and form a lifelong bond. If you think you could be the family to give Harley the forever home she deserves, please visit greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application today!

Story
Meet Beck! LONGEST GLDR RESIDENT! BEEN WITH US SINCE SEPTEMBER 2024! SEE FOSTER UPDATE! Hubba hubba here he comes! Beck is a one-year-old lab/plott hound mix who's 60 pounds of pure love! Beck is hands down one of the most affectionate pups you'll ever meet. He can be hesitant around new people, but once you've earned his trust, he makes no secret his goal in life is to be close! Beck has been making amazing strides in his foster home and he is becoming more confident everyday! We are looking for an experienced, patient home that will give him the time he needs to earn trust. We promise you he's worth the wait. Once you're in, you're in for life! Beck lives to play with his toys and it took him all of five minutes to find the toy bin and he helped himself to every single toy in there. Tough toys are best our playful pup and he is always up for a game of fetch! They were able to take toys/food away with no issue. He enjoys a relaxing neck rub and will roll over for some belly rubs too! Beck does well being kenneled, and with more repetition, we think that will continue. This lovable pup appears to be house-trained as well. Beck does well with other dogs and has a vocal playstyle. If you're looking for a pal for your family fur baby, Beck could be your boy! Excited to follow his nose and explore new surroundings, Beck does well on leash. As he is still a young man, he will benefit from continued training as he grows. His new family will need to keep him active and engaged. A yard for him to enjoy is a must for his handsome boy! Beck will need a family committed to training and continuing to help him build his confidence. It will be an excellent way to form a lifelong bond with this amazing boy. When it comes time to eat, Beck takes his treats gently and Nudges are one of his favorites! He does well in the car and loves to take in the scenery on your trip. After a fun-filled day, he enjoys ending his day by watching TV with his foster dad. Once settled, he sleeps quietly through the night. Based on our evaluation, we feel Beck would do well in an active home (kids 16 and up) with experienced adopters who are committed to help him be the best boy he can be! He enjoys hanging with other dogs and we feel he would be a great buddy for another confident pup. We are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. Don't spend another day without this lovey-dovey boy! Head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for our bubbly Beck!

TANK IS BACK AT THE KENNEL AND WE ARE SEARCHING FOR THE PERFECT FIT FOR HIM! PLEASE READ THROUGH HIS FULL BIO FOR SPECIFICS! Hey everyone! Tank here from GLDR! I'm a three-year-old handsome hunk of a lab who is the missing piece you've been searching for! I'm 77 pounds of good time goofiness that will brighten anyone's day! Well, I thought I had found my happily ever after, but sadly it wasn't meant to be. While I'm bummed to be back at the kennel, I know my friends here are trying their best to find me the perfect home! House-trained and crate-trained, I aim to please! I enjoying nap in my crate during the day and after that, I'm ready to explore! My curious and fun-loving nature makes me the ultimate companion. I'm good on leash and will make an excellent walking/hiking buddy. Due to my adventurous nature, I'll need to go to a home with a 5-6 ft physical fence-NO EXCEPTIONS! I'm a very smart boy who will need to be monitored outside while I'm getting used to my new surroundings. While I do well with most dogs in social situations, everyone agrees that I'd do best as the only animal in the home. I've been known to chase cats and other small animals too, so I'll need to go to a family without any small furry friends. I've been told I'm very capable guy. I know several commands but could definitely benefit from additional training on focus and impulse control. I enjoy all sorts of tasty treats and always take them gently. As I'm still a young man, I'll will thrive on daily exercise and mental stimulation in my new home. Thinking about a road trip? I'll be the ultimate co-pilot and look forward to all the places we can go together! Like most labs, I love the water and am also a fan of pup cups! At the end of a fun-filled day, I will always make time to snuggle with my family. I've been told I give the best kisses! I sleep quietly through the night, dreaming of the day my forever family comes my way. Based on their evaluation, my GLDR friends think I would do best in an active home with adults or families with kids ages 16 and up. Remember I do need a TALL PHYSICAL FENCE to keep me safe! If I sound like your kind of pup, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application! Hope to see you soon!

Story
Meet Heather! Hey everyone! Heather here from GLDR! I'm a six-year-old, 40-pound, Boston/terrier mix who is ready to brighten your day with my winning grin and wiggly wags. I am very thankful to be living with my foster mom, dad, and their two kids (ages 3 and 5). As if that wasn't cool enough, they also have a dog who I love to play with. I've even hung out with other family pups and have done very well. If you're looking for an affectionate fur sibling for your family dog, I'm game for a meet and greet anytime! I'm happy to report I'm both house-trained and crate-trained!! I absolutely adore my foster family and will soak up every ounce of love you have to give! I'd definitely consider myself a lap dog! You can usually find me snuggled up with my people, surrounded by as many cozy blankets as I can get my paws on! My foster family is working with me to learn new commands and I already know "sit, stay and wait". I'm not really one for too many toys as I prefer to spend my time cuddling. When it comes time for treats, I like soft treats and will enjoy the occasional ice cube. While I do like exploring the yard, I'd much prefer to be warm and cozy inside. If we do head out in the cold, I always wear my coats and sweaters to help keep me warm. What type of home am I looking for? Glad you asked! I'm a pup who enjoys life's simple pleasures and just wants to be part of your day. Everyone says I can go to a home with kids of any age as I have great manners. I love everyone I meet and am looking for a family that wants a snuggle buddy to treasure. They think I'd love to live with a fellow fur sibling too, though it's not a requirement. No feline friends please, as I tend to chase them! If I sound like your kind of gal, please fill out an application at greatlakesdogrescue.com today! See you soon!
