Story
Tiny Tim is a 13 lb., 10-year-old chihuahua/rat terrier mix looking for a home with someone there most of the day. He has a sweet little smile and bounces around the house jumping from recliner to recliner trying to find the best window view. Sweet Tiny Tim thought all was lost when he found himself in the custody of animal control and separated from his fur sister, who got adopted before him. He was placed on a euthanasia list and was cowering and depressed until he was saved by a rescue organization and finally put into a foster home with New Rattitude.   Life has been looking much better since coming into foster and he has blossomed and become happy again. After a slow introduction, he gets along fine with his canine foster siblings. Has not been introduced to cats or kids. Tiny loves to be loved! He will snuggle up with you in a chair or under the covers in bed, and lays his head on his human's chest when picked up.  He is very smart and knows many commands. He's so well behaved too: he's fully house-trained, he doesn't try to escape, no digging, no chewing or getting into the garbage. He does cry and bark when left at home and doesn't like being crated. After a rough and trying time, Tiny Tim now has his bounce back in his step and is a bundle of joy and love. He just needs someone to help him keep the good times going. So, if you are looking for a small, well-behaved little friend, Tiny is for you!  Beginning March 1, 2025, our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs or $300 for puppies under 6 months old. If you are interested in adopting this dog, PLEASE READ THE DETAILED ADOPTION PROCESS information on our website at www. NewRattitude.org/adopt/  From there, you can access our adoption application or contact our Adoption Team for more info. February 23, 2025, 6:23 pm

Story
Hello, this is Bourbon. She was a puppy rescue from "Bones to Beds". We have had her for the last 4 years, she will be turning 5 in March. She is a very shy cautious dog who is frightened by anything unknown. Due to this she has frequent anxiety and has been deemed a reactive dog. We've worked with professional dog trainers (Sit Means Sit) to help with this and it was very helpful for a few years. Bourbon listens to commands very well if she is in an environment with no distractions. An issue of resources guarding has developed in the last few years which we have been trying to mitigate. However we have (2) cats in the family and the guarding has now extend to them. We have been sent to the vet a number of times for injuries to the cats from Bourbon. The hard thing for us is Bourbon does not show signs of being aggressive until she explodes. We think she might have rage syndrome as she will wake from sleep in a frenzy. Otherwise she is a very cuddly loving girl, who loves scritches

Story
Meet Carmen!Carmen is a sweet and playful 1-year-old pup who enjoys pets, toys, and treats once she feels comfortable. She’s friendly with children and unfamiliar adults in the home but can be wary of strangers outside. The kennel environment has been stressful for her, though outside of it, she shows her social side and knows `sit` and `shake.`When meeting young kids (under 10), she was curious and stayed near but showed some hesitation. She hasn’t lived with other dogs and has been unsure around them, tending to avoid interaction. With time and proper introductions, she may warm up to a calm, respectful dog. Because Carmen takes time to warm up to new people and situations, her adopters should be prepared to help her build confidence. A quieter home without frequent large gatherings would likely be the best fit. Training and positive reinforcement will be wonderful tools to help her thrive! We encourage all family members to meet Carmen before adoption to ensure it’s a great match. If you’re looking for a loyal and loving companion who just needs a little extra support to shine, Carmen may be the perfect pup for you!If you have further questions, please call the shelter at (517) 626-6060 or email our adoption staff at adoptions@AdoptLansing.org.
