Daisy Mae was saved from certain death by a compassionate animal control officer and quickly transferred to HFE. She's a happy-go-lucky energetic girl who adores people and loves to play. She prefers to be a single lady in the family but gets along with male dogs. Right now she is working on food resource guarding and her fear of crates. She'll be a great companion for the right person who can give their love and focus on her. A home with a physical fenced yard is needed. Daisy has recently had the opportunity to explore swimming and she loved it! Birth date 11/14/14 For our adoption process and application please visit www.homefurever.com

This fellow was found tied up in the yard of an abandoned house when our volunteers were searching for another dog. He's a friendly and happy dog but was heartworm positive. Magic has completed his treatments and is completely healthy now and ready for his new forever home. Magic needs someone to continue training him and still needs to work on walking without pulling but will improve with training. Magic loves human attention and would be perfectly content as an only dog but also a good companion for another female dog his size. Fenced yard required.

Brody

Labrador Retriever

Male, 7 yrs 5 mos
Detroit, MI
Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Good with kids, Good with dogs, Not good with cats, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Brody had a rough start to life, I don't think he was given much time or handled kindly by his first owner - because of this he didn't know how great people can be, but he has worked very hard to build relationships and dog skills. He's immaculate in his kennel, no messes, loves enrichment - but will obliterate pillows, orthopedic beds and stuffies with exuberant glee 😬😬😬. So....I suggest we don't give him those. I'd say he's "mostly" good for walks - once you get in the flow, and he WORKS hard for that food. He loves people, loves to be petted, and will lay by your feet all day. Brody just wants to be by your side because he loves attention now that he trusts people and is a happy fellow. He will require a fenced yard, children over 13, no cats. If you want a loyal and lovable companion Brody is the perfect dog to meet! Fosters and adopters must live within an hour of metro Detroit. Birthdate 1-29-17

Shepherd (Unknown Type) German Shepherd Dog

Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs special attention, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
There has to be an adopter out there for Andy? Andy is a older gentleman who gets along with dogs but is weary of men. Once Andy trusts you, he loves you and is a faithful companion. Andy was found as a stray with a chain dragging behind him and was likely an outside dog living his life at the end of a chain. He was treated by our rescue for heartworm disease when we got him and is healthy and happy now. Share Andy's story so we can make the rest of his precious life better than the first years. A female home would be best suited for Andy and he will become your very devoted and faithful companion. He will curl up on your couch and keep you company if given the chance.
