I'm Chrissy :) I am a sweet girl that came to DDR from the HS as I have some medical needs DDR can take care of. I am believed to be a dorkie, that's a yorkie /dachshund ;) I am very active. I do require a fenced yard as I would be a runner.I am missing a lot of my beautiful fur on the back end of my body from a nasty skin infection, I am hoping it grows back. I like wearing sweaters when it's cold.My foster mom is just getting to know me so she will update my bio after I hang out with her for a week. I am 8 yrs young, I weigh 8.4 pounds, my adoption fee is $250 plus sales tax $11.25=$261.25     My adoption fee helps cover all of my vetting needs such as HW test, rabies, DHPPL, Bordetella, spay, mammary tumor resection, dental and microchipping.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 23, 2025, 2:17 pm

Skip is 9 year young, he weighs 17 pounds, his adoption fee is $250 plus sales tax $11.25= $261.25   My adoption fee helps cover all of my vetting needs such as HW test, rabies, DHPPL, Bordetella, neuter, dental , bladder stones surgery and microchipping.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 25, 2025, 9:20 pm

Buddy has definitely come out of his shell also and has found his voice when guarding the house through the front window or teasing the neighbor dogs through the fence.  He loves everyone. A little shy with new people at first but warms up quickly. He LOOOOVED my dad - best friends right away. He is definitely a shadow. Has to be where his people are at all times. He knows what toys are, but doesn’t seem too interested. He’d rather use them as a pillow. I think he’d do great with another dog in the house. He and June are thick as thieves. 100% potty trained. Has never had one accident and lets you know when he has to go out. He also potties every time he’s outside even if he didn’t indicate that he needed to go. Walks great on a leash for us. Overall just a sweet, sweet boy.' Hi! I'm Buddy. I came to Dakota Dachshund Rescue because my owner passed away so I needed a new home. This is a big change for me so I need a little adjustment time to settle in and show my true personality. In the meantime I have to go in for a dental. My foster mom will update my bio soon.My name is Buddy, I am 6 years old, I weigh 40 pounds, my adoption fee is $325 plus sales tax $14.63= $339.63   My adoption fee helps cover all of my vetting needs such as HW test, rabies, DHPPL, Bordetella, neuter, dental and microchipping.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 2, 2025, 1:03 pm

I visited Dr. Paul and can you believe he thinks I need to lose a few pounds . Honestly, I am not too worried about it now that I can get out and run and play with all my foster sisters and brothers. My foster mom cannot believe how playful I am. I am potty trained and sleep with my foster brother in an expen at night. I am starting to like my kibble and dog treats but I know there are tastier options in the refrigerator that I would prefer. My foster mom adores me and thinks I am a very good dog! I do need another dog in the house to keep me active.I am fully vetted and ready to find my furever home! He is living life as a normal pup at this time :) And his foster momma is going to adopt him :)Thanks to everyone that has helped support him in his very long journey to get to 10 months old tomorrow on May 10th :)Little Bernard update Jan 18,2025:Bernard will travel to Veterinary Medical Center/UMN in St Paul Tuesday Jan 21st for a cystourethrogram so the urinary tract specialist and the surgeons can determine if there is a second kidney hidden somewhere or if the one kidney has three separate ureters as he has two ureters that urine comes from as well as leakage through his umbilicus. The surgeons are also trying to determine if they can safely remove the parasitic twin or just part of the legs to make life with his anomaly a little better. Bernard is not in any pain, he is a happy pup.Dec 1 2024 update Little Mr Bernard   Quite an interesting little guy, fun loving almost 5 months old puppy but boy is he ever perplexing medically.   Bernard was born with a parasitic twin coming out of his backside. He has two rumps, four legs, two anuses, two penises as well as urine coming out of his umbilical area. It was discovered he has one kidney.   He has had an ultrasound, X-rays, as well as a CT scan.   His parasitic feet drag and became bloody and infected and he chews on them so he couldn't be vaccinated until they cleared up so of course he broke with Parvo   one step forward in diagnosing him but 10 steps back breaking with Parvo   His parasitic twin's feet have to stay wrapped all the time now.   The parasitic twin's pelvis is tilted in Bernard's normal pelvis so something has to be done for him so he can live a normal life..... lots to comprehend isn't it   Bernard is traveling to UMN Veterinary Medical Center tomorrow for evaluation to see if their Orthopedic/Soft Tissue Surgical team can safely remove his parasitic twin.   Bernard's local medical bills have been between $3,000 already   Can you help? Today with Giving Tuesday's matching funds your donation will double.   Every $1 becomes $2   Every $5 becomes $10   Every $10 becomes $20   Every $100 becomes $200   Donate on this post   Or use the PayPal button on the dakotadachshundrescue.org website   Or Venmo Dakota Dachshund Rescue   Or mail a check to:   Dakota Dachshund Rescue   7505 E Mystic Drive   Sioux Falls SD 57110   All methods of donating count toward Matching Funds   Bernard needs all of us!   Have someone that is hard to buy Christmas gifts for? Donate in their name as a Christmas gift!     Hi! I'm Bernard. I have some complex medical stuff going on and need to be seen by some specialists. I have a parasitic twin and some complicated anatomy. While the veterinarians are figuring out some of my complex anatomy can you help support a little guy like me?I am now 9 months old, my adoption fee is $400 plus sales tax $18= $418   My adoption fee helps cover all of my vetting needs such as HW test, rabies, DHPPL, Bordetella, neuter, dental if needed and microchipping.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 9, 2025, 12:19 pm

I am a little skittish around new people. I need grooming on a schedule and feel so much better after grooming. I’m a frisky little girl and I love to play with other small dogs and run in a fenced yard. After I get to know you, I love to snuggle on your lap or beside you on the couch. I am just beginning this amazing journey to learn to live life as a house pet....can you be my person and continue my journey with me?  I am responding well to schedule trips outside to potty, but I can have occasional accidents in the house if I don’t get my outside time. I’m comfortable in a harness but I can be a little goofy on a leash. I love toys! I shake them, toss them in the air and chase after them. I’m still learning so much about people as I learn to be a house pet. I need a fenced yard. Sometimes I get frightened and run. With a new family I may not come back unless I’ve chosen my new favorite person. Believe me. I can run!  I am 1 year old, I weigh 8 pounds, my adoption fee is $500 plus sales tax $22.50=$522.50  My adoption fee helps cover all of my vetting needs such as HW test, rabies, DHPPL, Bordetella, spay, dental if needed and microchipping.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 3, 2025, 12:22 pm
