Story
Klaus is an Australian Shepherd, born December 2021.  He is a friendly guy and loves being around people.  Through no fault of his own, he's been moved around and gets a little nervous or anxious at times.  Klaus would love to be in a home where he can stay put and doesn't have to move again.  He gets along with other dogs and strangers. A perfect home for Klaus would be with someone with a large yard or acreage so he can get lots of exercise.  He enjoys being active i.e. running, walking or hiking.  He also knows how to fetch and knows some commands.  Please help us find the perfect home for Klaus! The suggested adoption donation for Klaus is $400, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
Bandit is a very handsome young puppy, born April 2024, who is looking for a family who would shower him with attention.   He is housebroken, fetches and likes to give kisses.    Bandit is also crate trained, although he doesn't like being left alone, but he isn't at a point yet where he can be by himself in the house without getting into trouble.   He is very active and likes to jump and bark so his new owner should have lots of patience and be willing to work with Bandit to help him grow out of his puppy habits.   A perfect home for Bandit would be one with a very large yard where he can run, fetch, dig and play with the adults or older children in the family.  The suggested adoption donation for Bandit is $415, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost. If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, the adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice. If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses. All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age. All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized.   ##2258299##

Though we do our best in trying to answer all emails in a timely manner, sometimes things get away from us, get lost or misplaced. Story
Meet Buster! This 2-year-old standard poodle boy is what dreams are made of! Here is what his foster mom has to say about him. "This dog is the sweetest... Someone is going to win the lottery with this guy... The only thing in the world he cares about is snuggling up next to you. He's going to be the ultimate best friend some lucky human, either child or adult! He only barks when he's telling you he needs to go outside. He is good with our dogs, from 9 lbs to 90. He is WONDERFUL with the cat! Blue actually really enjoys his attention because he is gentle and snuggly. He has only chewed on dog toys, nothing he's not supposed to. And he is GORGEOUS! He has the tightest curls and the most beautiful spots. He is just wonderful! ❤️" If you are interested in adopting this pup, please fill out an application, using the link below. Please specify which dog you are interested in. Applications without a specific dog, or otherwise incomplete, will not be considered. Adoption Fee is $425. Includes spay/neuter, current vaccines, and microchipping. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ITAV/Dog For more pictures and information on this pup, please visit our website at https://www.ittakesavillage.dog/adopt

Story
His big eyes seriously steal hearts, often he holds a gentle gaze, so lovingly it makes us melt, that is when he's not being his happy-go lucky self with those goofy faces ! Eagle is about a year old, and just couldn't be any more of a sweetheart. He melts when he's scratched under the chin, or his rump, and LOVES cuddling on laps, even more so than most lap-dogs. He has this gorgeous spotted coat, and even more so is his demeanor. He weighed in around 55 pounds, & is definitely overweight, but he thinks nothing of it, he still believes he's a 20 pounder who can climb onto laps and rest there. How could we not let him? While we are working on getting him on a weight loss regime, he's been enjoying himself! He's currently learning the in's and out's of all things needed to make him the BEST family pooch. Eagle has done wonderful with all of the other dogs in our care, as well s visiting with the cats and kids!

Story
Darling Dolly, with a wigglebutt for days, and kisses to give to everyone, anyone, and everything! At a little over a year old this chunky girl has got it allll figured out! From knowing the exact silly faces to make, to those adorable puppy dog eyes; she knows treats will be bountiful! We can only imagine it's how she got chunky, as she enjoys running, romping, and playing with all of the other dogs. She absolutely adores kids, as well; and pays no mind to cats with us! Honestly, she'd make a wonderful addition to most homes, given what we've seen, and heard about her! She is as sweet as can be, and is working on all things here with us; from crate-training to leash-walking, she's taking to it like a brainiac! What I love most about Dolly is that she rarely seems to have a care in the world, she's just a big ball of wiggles, love, and affection! Dolly seems to have her basic commands down pretty well, and is only going to be well on her way to mastering them! So if you're on the hunt for the perfect bundle of joy, come meet our Dolly, and she will be SURE to have you in love, if she doesn't already!
