Story
We adopted Zuko about 3 years ago from a farm. He has a little bit of anxiety, is very friendly. Loves to be around people and pets, can be clingy and follows you everywhere. He is definitely a gentle giant. Well behaved and house trained. My spouse and I are just always to busy at work and never home enough for him. He deserves better, and to have more walks and love.

Story
Remmy was born on May 11, 2024. He is a Black Lab and Bluetick Coonhound mix. We adopted him through our vets office when he was 9 weeks old. He is up to date with vaccines, neutered, and microchipped, I have all vet records for him. He is crate trained. He walks well on leash with a gentle lead. Loves being outside and would love a big yard or farm to run on, with his nose always in full gear he would make a great hunting dog with just a little training. and he loves belly rubs. He's a lovey boy that does well with kids, and likes car rides too. He will come with his collar, leash, food/water bowls, whatever food is left at time of adoption and container (he's on Blue Buffalo Puppy food), We have a 3 year old German Shepherd which doesn't get along with Remmy which is why we are rehoming him,

Story
Ladies and Gentlemen - Domino "Never have to worry about what is worst or what is best" Oh oh Domino Domino was found as a stray and never claimed. He was born in March of 2022 - we think :) He is an 80 lb Lab mixed with an energetic goofball. He should be fine with older kids and adults. He isn't overly fond of the other dogs here, so he might do better as a single dog until he gets used to being in a home setting again. Domino also should be in a cat free home. Domino has a big personality and loves attention, he keeps a clean kennel here, so the transition to home should be easier. Domino really wants a home and a family. Will you come and make his dreams come true? All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition. Please review all basic adoption requirements listed on our website before applying. We take finding the right homes for the animals in our care very seriously. They deserve nothing but the best! Please allow 2-7 days for applications to be processed. If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. They are still available for adoption, and meet and greets are done with pre-approved applicants only. If you have any questions feel free to send us an email at freeborncohumanesociety@gmail.com, send us a message on Facebook, or call or text 507-377-8501.

Story
Jet is a Jack Russell Terrier that was found as a stray and never claimed. We think she was born in the summer of 2024. She is classic JRT - she needs to get to know you to trust you - then she is all yours! She runs like crazy and has energy to burn. She can jump quite high in spite of having fairly short legs. She is absolutely adorable and a favorite here at the shelter. She has personality in spades. Prior experience with JRTs is preferred. All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Story
Meet Buddy Almost Home Foster Kennels, MN Lic. 132328 is a 501c3, not-for-profit, foster-based, rescue organization. AHFK is located in SE Minnesota in the Austin/Albert Lea area. AHFK is primarily a Beagle and small dog rescue. Our focus is to pull from High-Kill Shelters and to save those dogs that are at risk of euthanasia. All AHFK adoptions require an approved, completed application, a Veterinarian and Personal Reference Check, a smoke-free environment, and a home visit. Buddy's adoption fee is $300.00 All our dogs are completely vetted, spayed/neutered, and microchipped. We are currently accepting applications for Buddy. Buddy was surrendered to a Veterinary clinic in the Tulsa OK area. His owner had moved, out of country, and left Buddy with family members. The family did not want Buddy and surrendered him for euthanasia. The veterinary staff could not euthanize Buddy and kept him in a crate until they could find a rescue or adopter. Buddy lived in this crate for 40 days. Buddy needs a securely fenced yard as he loves to visit nearby neighbors and confiscate articles of property that do not belong to him. Buddy needs a human that will have time, patience, and love for him. He has been neglected and allowed to roam freely. He needs a routine and structure. He loves to be outside and thoroughly enjoys leash walking. Buddy shows some issues with resource guarding with other dogs. He has been through training and his new owner will have to carry through with positive reinforcement. We have not had an issue with guarding against humans. Buddy is of the Beagle breed, a natural hunter, therefore, we are looking for a home with a securely fenced yard and a family with one Pet Parent that is a stay-at-home parent, or one which works from home; a family that can help Buddy acclimate to her new surroundings and environment with compassion, love, and patience. Please allow 6-8 weeks for Buddy to acclimate to the changes in his life. We would also like Buddy to be the only dog. Meet and greets are scheduled upon approved, completed application. If interested in meeting Buddy, please complete the application found on our website: almosthomefoster.com

Story
Sarah is a Treeing Walker Coonhound mix born in September 2017. She came in as a stray and was never claimed. Sarah's photos don't do her beauty justice - she is a lovely sweet energetic girl. She is extremely skinny and will probably remain so as long as she is in the shelter. The environment here doesn't seem to allow her the chance to calm down so she isn't hanging on to any of her calories. She needs to go home. She keeps a clean kennel and is everything anyone could want in a companion! All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee.
