Story
Hi there, I'm, Harvey! I might be a puppy, but I’ve already mastered the art of loving big! I’m 8 months old, and my foster family says I’m adorable from head to tail—especially my ears! One look, and you’ll know exactly what they mean. My happy tail is always wagging, especially when I’m snuggling, playing, or just being near my people. Speaking of snuggles, I’m a pro. My favorite move? A full embrace hug where I wrap my paws around your neck. It’s my way of showing how much I care! When I’m not hugging, you’ll find me chewing on a bone (great for my puppy teeth), learning new things (I’m a quick study with sit, off, and wait), or shadowing my humans to see what they’re up to. I start my day with happy tail wags, kisses, and a quick potty break before breakfast and playtime. Afterward, it’s nap time—because even busy puppies like me need rest! Some days I even go to doggy daycare because I love playing with new friends! At night, I sleep soundly with some white noise and the comfort of knowing my people are nearby. I’ve been working on my confidence when I’m alone, and with a cozy blanket and calming sounds, I can self-soothe when I’m alone. I’m also crate-training for those moments when you’re away. I do well after a bit if I have something to keep me engaged, like a puzzle or a frozen Kong and calming music. I’m a social butterfly who loves dogs my size or bigger and understand their social cues like a champ! I haven’t met any cats yet, so I’m not sure what I’d think of them. I warm up quickly to women and kids, and with men, I just need a little extra time to sniff and feel safe—then I’m all in for belly rubs and snuggles! My ideal furever home could include other canine friends and/or kids, and adults who are ready to love me and help me grow. I’d thrive with a family that’s around often, as I love being with my people. At my young age, I’m soaking up everything like a sponge and can’t wait to learn all the things with you! If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion with the sweetest snores, cutest ears, and a heart of gold, I’m your guy. Let’s make forever happen together! Harvey is fully vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and neutered. An adoption application can be submitted here: https://www.aplanimalrescue.org/adopt

Story
Presley is a sweet, but very rambunctious yellow lab. He really likes to play and run around. He can be calm and loving, but gets very excited around other people and dogs. He doesn’t bite or anything, but just is all puppy. He is house trained and does basic commands. Very sad to lose him, but he is just too strong and big for my parents. Would be a great dog for someone who has the time to play with him, walk and run with him, has a tall, fenced in yard, and the patience to train him. He is purebred, but we don’t have official papers. He also has not been neutered.

Story
Oscar is a very cuddly and loving puppy. He loves to play, he doesn’t require a leash while taking a walk, he will always be by your heels. He loves to follow you from room to room in the house and loves to play ball outside. He also loves children. He will go potty outside on command, but likes to go right back into the house where I’m at. I would love to be able to keep him, but for health reasons I am not able to. I would love for him to go to a loving and safe home.

Story
Hi, I’m Wiley, and I’m looking for my forever family. I’m about a year old and am officially up to 39lbs, and while no one knows for sure, they think I might be a mix of German Shepherd, Border Collie, and Husky. What we do know is that I’m incredibly sweet, smart, eager to please, and love to play! My journey hasn’t been the easiest—I was picked up as an emaciated stray and found myself at Cedar Rapids Animal Care and Control. When my rescue and foster family saw my face (and guessed I’d need a personalized feeding plan), they knew they had to come get me. Since then, I’ve been learning what it means to be safe, loved, and cared for. Trusting life experiences is still a work in progress, but have come so far! I’m getting there! I would thrive in a home where someone is around more often than not, and where I can go on walks, run, and use my nose—because let me tell you, I’m a fantastic sniffer! I love to be active and engaged, and I’m ready to keep learning with my forever family. Tomorrow, I get to meet my rescue’s professional trainer, and anyone who chooses me will be able to continue this training (paid for by APL), until complete. This will help build a solid foundation and a strong bond between us! If you’re looking for a smart, playful, and loyal companion, I’d love to meet you! Please help me find my forever. That’s all I’ve ever hoped for. Wiley is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped and has been 4DX tested. He would do best in a home with a physically fenced in yard so he can run and explore safely. Applications can be submitted within his profile, here: https://www.aplanimalrescue.org/dogs (an application does not bind you to adoption, it is simply our starting point)

Story
Hi, I’m Boone! I’m a beautiful 4 ½-year-old, 70-pound German Shepherd mix with a big heart and an even bigger desire to finally find my forever home. I’ve been passed around from family to family, never really knowing where I truly belong—until now. My current caretakers see what a special boy I am, and I hope you will too! I have great manners, listen well, stay close to my people and am super smart. I love learning new things and am always eager to please. Whether we’re out on an adventure or just hanging out at home, I’ll be right by your side, ready to be your loyal companion. I free-roam like a champ, love all people, and get along with dogs of all sizes. I’m even learning how to live with cats! Most of all, I’m full of love and live for close snuggles. I don’t just want a home—I want a person to belong to, forever. Could that be you? Boone is up to date on vaccinations, 4DX tested, microchipped and neutered. Applications can be submitted from within his bio, here: https://www.aplanimalrescue.org/dogs
