Story
MEET BOWMAN!!! Bowman came into our shelter last week as an owner surrender. The owner was originally going to put Bo down due to a few allegations that this dog was vicious and aggressive. Upon meeting him, Bowman was jumping on us, but absolutely no signs of aggression. At the shelter, he still has not shown he is an “aggressive” or “vicious” dog. Does he need some training? Absolutely. But he is a big marshmallow full of LOVE!!! Bowie just adores his people, men and women. He sits and shakes…only for treats! Bowman likes to run around our back area, and constantly is getting the “zoomies”! He’s such a good boy, but needs to go to a home with no dogs or cats. Please email peopleforpets.director@gmail.com to inquire more information or to get an adoption application!

Story
Meet SWEET SHEBA!!! Sheba is a 3 1/2 year old pit bull, and came to us as an owner surrender. Sheebs (as we like to call her) is a shy, quiet gal who has really come out of her shell here at the shelter. Once she finds her human, she sticks to them like glue! She is still a little hesitant of new people, especially men, but she does eventually warm up. Sheba has been through a lot. In her time, she’s had (at least) 3 litters. We have one of her babies, Annie, who is still available for adoption. Miss Sheebs also can be territorial of her possessions, including her bed, toys, and food. She usually will take her food and hide it under her bed, unless there is someone in the kennel standing there with her. She needs to also go to a home with no cats or dogs. Sheba needs a furever home. Could that be you? Email peopleforpets.director@gmail.com to get an application to adopt!

Meet this handsome man…SPARKY! Sparky arrived at the shelter after his owner sadly passed away. He was very well taken care of, and is such a happy boy. Sparky LOVES his humans. In fact, he despises being apart from them for very long. He does his poor little husky cry, and you’ll know he’s in need of attention ASAP! Sparky gets along with other dogs, and doesn’t mind cats. Annie has been here since August 2023 when she was saved from being in the heat! Annie is such a sweet girl, with SO much love to give! She loves to run and jump in your arms, lay her head in your lap, and loves people of all ages. Annie is pretty dominant when it comes to other dogs, she gets along better with male dogs, but still wants to be the boss. Adopt her! Attention everyone! A handsome devil has just arrived! Say hello to Luke, a stunning canine who was once a city stray. We estimate him to be around 4 years old. When he first arrived at the shelter, he was a bit shy, but he has since come out of his shell tremendously! We have learned Luke will sit and shake. He is so well mannered and keeps a clean kennel. He loves his canine friends, but hasn’t yet been around cats. Luke is a sweet loving dog who is looking for his forever home. Adopt this dapper dude! Story
Our handsome man Peele is still looking for his forever home! This sweet man and his brother were found as strays in April, though with some investigation we do suspect that they were dumped. They were in incredibly poor condition, so they needed some pretty intense TLC before we were comfortable putting them up for adoption. Peele is a great man, he doesn't mind other dogs and doesn't seem to mind cats either! He keeps a clean kennel here at HSNWIA. Peele is a great boy, don't let him pass you by! Peele is up to date on his vaccinations and is neutered. If you are interested in Peele, please submit an adoption application, which can be found on our website: humanesocietyofnwia.com.
