Story
Rowena is a 9-10 year old lab mix (we did a DNA test and it came back lab/chow/golden retriever/pointer and several others) - about 60 lbs. She is house/kennel trained, and definitely wants to learn how to dog! She was found in 2019 living in a wood pile in Oklahoma protecting her puppies, so has some trauma there that needs worked through and a dedicated adopter will do so much for her. She needs a very structured living environment and a strong dog-savvy owner. She loves to be outside so would enjoy a nice physically fenced yard (no invisible fencing with her history, sorry). Privacy fencing will be preferred as she guards her territory. She will not do well in an apartment setting since she has a fear of strangers and needs muzzled on walks in strange places. She has been through heartworm treatment and will require an adopter who will keep her on preventatives and regular testing. She does well with dogs as long as they aren't tiny/can't be mistaken for squirrels or rabbits. She chases cats. She is food protective with other dogs, so will need to be fed separate / in kennel as a precaution. Once she is comfortable with you, she likes to snuggle and give kisses and hugs -- but it may take a few weeks for her to warm up fully. No kids for Roe -- fast movements and small creatures with her don't mix. Her adoption fee is $250. If you have an easy-going and patient lifestyle that will give this girl the structure she needs and are interested in meeting Rowena, please put an application in at www.foreverhomedogs.org and we will set up a meet with you!All adoptions are $300 per dog for puppies under 1 year, $250 for adults 1 - 9 years old and $150 for senior dogs which include spay/neuter, micro-chipped and up-to-date on required shots. Senior dogs, at our discretion, are adopted out at $150 per dog because we know they will have less time with your family and may eventually have more needs as they get older. But we feel these dogs deserve to live out the rest of their lives as part of a loving family.

Story
Phoebe is a 5-6 year old heeler/terrier mix who weighs about 45 lbs. She will need an experienced owner who would like to continue basic manners work, and she's fully house/crate trained. She won't be a dog park dog as she needs a couple one-on-one meets to love other pups. No cats or small kids in her forever home, sorry! She has a big herding instinct. She's a love bug who is searching for someone to teach her how to be a good pet, and will play fetch all day long. Story
Marsay is a 12 year old 60 lb pit mix looking for an active retirement home. Marsay is incredibly affectionate and still has the energy of a young pup! He loves to cuddle but also loves going for walks with his foster mom. He is house/crate trained. He does fine with most dogs one-on-one and after a proper intro; we haven't seen him with cats yet and require a meet with any resident pets before adoption. He does tend to guard resources (particularly food and high value toys/bones) so we are suggesting older kids in the home and a dedicated adopter willing to put some one-on-one training time in with him. He loves to meet new people and be part of the action! If interested in meeting Marsay, please apply at www.foreverhomedogs.org!All adoptions are $300 per dog for puppies under 1 year, $250 for adults 1 - 9 years old and $150 for senior dogs which include spay/neuter, micro-chipped and up-to-date on required shots. Story
Storm is 3 years old and 65ish lbs. She is house trained and loves being in her kennel when needed. Storm does great with submissive dog friends and ignores cats. She lived with kids in the past but typical to the herding breed, tends to get more anxious with their fast movements so we're suggesting older children in the home. Storm loves her people big and just wants to be near them as much as possible. She loves to run around the yard, go on car rides or leash walks and just be with her human(s). Storm is a super sweet pup that gives excellent hugs and kisses. Her adoption fee is $250 - apply at www.foreverhomedogs.org to meet her!All adoptions are $300 per dog for puppies under 1 year, $250 for adults 1 - 9 years old and $150 for senior dogs which include spay/neuter, micro-chipped and up-to-date on required shots. Story
Sky is estimated to be about a 2 year old lab mix who was found as a stray in Texas with a bullet above her wrist. Once the bullet was removed, she was sent to us where she was in a split for a couple weeks to try to help her leg heal, but ultimately the vets decided amputation was best. Sky is doing great after her surgery. We actually can’t believe how well she is getting along on three legs! She loves going for walks, belly scratches, and sleeping in bed. She is your typical lab, very playful and energetic at times (you would never know she was missing a limb) and then she crashes and likes to nap on blankets and the couch. She is kennel trained, and mostly potty trained. She does great with other dogs all sizes, and is learning to be around cats. She is very smart and trainable. We can tell she has once had an owner because she gets very excited when we get the leash out to go for walks. Sky does need a few minutes to warm up to humans, she’s timid at first but then she will love you. She could benefit from basic training but she deserves the best home where people will show her love and attention she deserves. If you’re looking for a best friend who won’t leave your side, follow you to the bathroom, and sleep right next to you, Sky is your girl. Sky will do best with older calm kids. Sky will not be a good apartment dog.All adoptions are $300 per dog for puppies under 1 year, $250 for adults 1 - 9 years old and $150 for senior dogs which include spay/neuter, micro-chipped and up-to-date on required shots.
