Story
She’s a wonderful dog, with a few quirky mannerisms, she doesn’t ever bark or bite (Does like to lightly gnaw on hands), really likes to just chew on her toy and kinda keep to herself, but also loves playing when you want too. I would be keeping her if I wasn’t living in a small 3rd floor apartment. She was a stray, which my wife found at the Lackland AFB Gate, she had some fleas, but otherwise seemed to be in good health, seemingly with an indentation around her snout from a rope or muzzle. I just really want to find her a good home.

Story
I’ve had Bleu since he was 3months old , he just turned 3yrs old in July . Very loving & affectionate dog with lots of personality. Goes to the dog park and plays with other dogs . ( 100%. MUST HAVE A BACKYARD ) Only reason I’m re homing him is because I have an apartment and feels he deserves better . If it wasn’t for time and space I would keep him forever but under the circumstances right now it would be selfish of me .

Story
💘🐾SPONSOR ME BARBIE 💘🐾 Last year Barbie was rescued when her owners wanted her euthanized because they were unable to afford an emergency c section. Our vet called us and asked us to take her. We couldn’t let this poor mama dog be euthanized so we committed to her. Here’s where things get tricky - when you commit to a mama dog you can’t properly temperament test until the babies are adopted. Barbie made a full recovery, her puppies all found lovely homes, and Barbie was up for adoption. Once we commit we COMMIT. Sadly Barbie hasn’t been a good match for any of our foster homes and we couldn’t turn our backs on her so she’s been in boarding for about 3 months now. It’s not an ideal situation and we truly never like to utilize boarding - but what other options have we had? Here’s where we need your help! We are sending Barbie to a training program to help her over come some of her fears and hopefully be able to find her a forever home. In addition to the money owed for boarding, her expensive c section, her future training, she is also HW positive an additional $1000 treatment. When she does find a home her adoption fee will likely be very low - so you see a dog who will cost us over 5,000 dollars to save - and now no money recouped. This is why rescues rely so heavily on other ways to raise money to help our cases like this. We still owe 3k to the boarding facility for housing her all these months. We love our friends New Tampa Pet Resort +1 (813) 400-1560 for taking great care of our fuzzy friends. You can call them directly to sponsor a day of her boarding ($30 a day) or donate below!

✨Talk about a #transformation ✨ Nala who came to us from Town of Port Barre Police Department as a cruelty case. Story
Welcome “Lassie” to SSBR 💕 Lassie came into St. Landry Parish Animal Control with a rope type material embedded terribly in her waste. There’s no telling what her past has held but we know it wasn’t good 💔 Upon coming into the shelter, Lassie was provided emergency veterinary care by BISSELL Pet Foundation // Cathy Bissell. Thanks to BPF investing in her life, she was able to make a full recovery and join SSBR this week. She will be finishing Heartworm treatment and looking for her forever home! Here’s what we know so far…. Lassie loves the water! 💦 Lassie loves to play rough and tumble with her canine companions 🐶 and thrives from human love and affection💕! She will make the perfect family member for the perfect adoptive family! Pre-apply online at https://www.southernstatesbullyrescue.org/blank
