Story
Born 4/28/24. Mom and Dad are both family pets. It was an accidental litter. Parents were kept separated until 2 weeks after Mom's heat stopped and Dad still got her. Cookie (Poopsie) is very sweet and loves attention. He has never been to the vet and will need his first shots. Once he started to get bigger his father keeps attacking him almost daily. So we have to keep them separated. He is protective over food (from dogs, not humans) mainly because his Dad won't let him eat. I have 6 kids ranging from newborn to 15 years and he does fine with them. We have two outside cats that he is scared of but did kill a kitten he found. He has never bitten or growled at a human. He does bark when people come in the yard.

Story
Meet Coco Puffs Coco Puffs is a year and a half old, 75 lb ham. He’s great with other dogs and all people, kids included! He’s big, but he doesn’t knock you down, he’s a pretty laid back guy considering how young he is! He’s got happiness and wiggles for days! He does well in the car and is reportedly house trained and seems to walk well on leash as well. We would love to find a foster or adopter for him! He’s neutered, UTD on vaccines and prevention, heartworm tested negative, microchipped, and dewormed. We brought him to K9P4P and while they loved his personality, he didn’t use his nose so he wasn’t Eli big let for the program!

Story
Donut is such a sweet, calm boy despite being only about a year old and we believe a Dutch shepherd mix. He is house trained and seems to be good with all people and animals so far. He’s heartworm negative and seems to be a perfect gentleman, but he’s a bit wary of strangers so go slow with him! He’s good with other dogs and reportedly good with children as well. He loves giving gentle kisses and cuddles on the couch. He’s good in the car and not overly boisterous but does like to jump up for hugs. He is UTD on vaccinates and prevention, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm tested negative. His neuter is scheduled for April 22nd and is included in his adoption fee.

Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Good with kids, Good with dogs, Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Noble is such a handsome 2 year old lab who unfortunately his owners got bored of. He is very sweet once he warms up to you, he can be a little wary of strangers but it only takes him a minute or two to realize it’s okay to meet new friends. He’s reportedly good with children, and he’s clearly never met any other animals before. He does fine with passive dogs but he quickly gets overwhelmed by more dominant dogs, but with some confidence that may change! He’s basically a 2 year old puppy but he’s clearly well bred and has a lot of potential. It’s been a few weeks since Noble was returned from his foster home and he is making progress every day! He is doing great with most other dogs and goes out in a playgroup with several small dogs and a few mediums. While he is still learning not to use his mouth when he gets excited he has learned how to sit for attention and he’s getting way more comfortable with doorways and going into his kennel! We still have work to do with this boy, but we would consider apps for him from people who are willing to put in the work to continue his training! He is microchipped, vaccinated, and heart worm tested positive. His treatment is covered by the rescue.

Mila

Belgian Malinois

Female, 3 yrs 2 mos
Bartow, FL
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Good with dogs, Good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Mila was kept in a pen outside and used as a breeding machine to make puppies and earn her owners money. When that stopped working, they dumped her at the shelter with her remaining unsellable puppy. They were so malnourished and underweight. Her nose was rubbed raw and her fur was in terrible condition. She’s come a long way in the last couple months since she was rescued. Mila is a beautiful and loving and amazing dog who is very handler oriented and very smart (she is a malinois after all). To be blunt though, she is NOT a dog for just anyone. No malinois is, but Mila’s bad start to life left her with some scars that you can’t see. She kennel reactive towards humans and dogs she doesn’t know or fully trust, she’s never bitten anyone but she is still a fearful dog. She’s pretty good with strangers on a leash or outside where there’s open space but indoors and especially in a kennel she gets very defensive. She trusts me and goes in and out of her kennel happily and willingly but she definitely has scared some guests to the house who walked into the room she was in. I love this dog with my whole heart and know what she deserves and what she can be with the proper environment. She’s very sensitive and emotional and smart and needs to be treated as such to thrive. She’s learned to walk well on leash, touch, heel, paw (or shake), sit, recall, and be house trained in just a few months, I know she is capable of so much more in the right hands, but I know she can also be a monster in the wrong hands, as she is of course a Malinois, and one with trauma at that. Breed experience is an absolute requirement for any adopter. If you have not owned a malinois, if you are a first time dog owner, if you don’t have the time to dedicate to a dog like this, please don’t apply. Malinois are beautiful dogs but they are not beginner dogs. If you believe you can offer this girl the perfect home for her, please apply! She is good with dogs, cats, and didn’t acknowledge my chickens though a fence separated them. She’s house trained and has some basic obedience but we are working on manners still like not jumping on her handler or the counter tops. She loves to cuddle and would like to live inside of her persons skin if she could. She loves her walks and would make the ideal running/hiking/walking partner for an active person who’s as dedicated to their dog as Mila will be to her owner. She is spayed, heart worm negative, microchipped, UTD on vaccines, dewormed and UTD on prevention.

Mr. Potato

American Staffordshire Terrier American Pit Bull Terrier

Male, 1 yr 6 mos

Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)

Story
Anyone who meets potato quickly falls in love with his sweet personality and cuddly nature. He’s the dog who will just come curl up in your lap and give you kisses. He’s a big fan of snacks as well, so he’s very easy to win over! He’s a total gem because he’s super playful outside with other pups but has a great off-switch when he comes inside. He loves other dogs but can overwhelm some cats so we would only recommend him for a home with very dog-savvy cats. Mr. Potato is a cute 10 month old crop earred pittie that we know is going to grow into the handsomest boy. He’s a bit wary of adult men but he’s been awesome with older kids (he hasn't met younger kids yet) and women. He’s still learning potty training but doing way better in his kennel. He’s vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and heartworm tested negative.
