Story
Meet Etta Mae, a sweet, gentle and loving senior Golden Retriever who is searching for a new experienced home because her dad is on the waiting list for a lung transplant and her mom who is also in her 70's with health issues of her own, feels she cannot care for both Dad and Etta Mae when the time comes. This is a very difficult decision for this family who is faced with a serious health issue, so they turned to GREAT Rescue to help with their sweet Golden Girl. Etta Mae has some health issues of her own and the family is willing to offer financial help for her medications. This sweet girl is a trooper, always working hard to enjoy her life, fetch a ball and enjoy the outside Florida sunshine. There is another smaller quiet older dog in the home as her companion too. Etta Mae loves snuggling on the sofa and can often climb up herself even though she has bad hips which require daily medication. She can get up from the floor and walk by herself well but has more difficulty on tile and wood floors so small runners are recommended in the areas in which she would spend much of her time. She sometimes hesitates going through doorways because she is blind in her right eye. This girl has quite the spirit and spunk and gets an A plus for effort all the time... Etta Mae is 10 years old, fully vetted, with all vaccines, is spayed, heartworm negative, wormed, weighs 72 lbs. and is microchipped. She is a total lovebug and is looking for the right home who will understand her needs and help her live a fully and happy life. Her ideal home will be quiet one with a fenced yard, no children, potentially a quiet older dog close to her age, someone home much of the time, lives close to the Jacksonville area and is a loving and quiet older person or couple who will enjoy and love Etta Mae for being the sweet girl that she is. If you have questions, please call 904-703-8348 or our Rescue hotline at 904-501-6899. You may also go to www.greatrescue to complete an application. Thank you! Etta Mae is so deserving!!

Story
Looking for a big boy who's a calm, very sweet, obedient and oh, so well behaved? Well, look no further because Charlie is the boy for you. This very handsome Labrador Retriever is living the good life with his foster girlfriend, Olive, and goes to Brew Hound often during the week to meet new friends and enjoy doggie adventures. Part of that adventure is being able to ride in the car and watch the sites as they role by. Never one to bark needlessly or jump on people, Charlie is about the perfect boy for a family who would love an all-around amazing dog for their new best friend. He does very well in the house, loves his girlfriend, Olive, enjoys snuggling and also laying in the yard, especially during this wonderful Autumn weather, to catch some rays. He is very well behaved, He is one chill boy who is as gentle as a lamb, yet his size gives him the appearance of being a very active large boy. He has been enjoying life in his foster home with his friend Olive and enjoys the ride to Brew Hound where he can meet and greet some new friends, both two and four legged. Charlie is a champ in the house with no counter surfing or chewing, is totally housebroken, crate trained but it's really not needed and a major cuddle bug. He minds very well, rides nicely in the car, just sitting and watching the traffic go by, he's gentle upon meeting people and calls just about everyone friend, two and four legged! Charlies is about three years old, heartworm negative, neutered, current on all vaccinations, microchipped and wormed. He enjoys going for walks and is still learning how to pull less so is not a good choice for a senior person. His new home should be one with another like size dog for a companion, someone who is home much of the day, has a fenced yard, someone who can walk him daily and no children under 8. If you would like this very handsome, gentle soul to be your new best friend, please go to www.greatrescue.org to complete an adoption application. Questions, call our Rescue hotline at 904-501-6899. A boy this loving and sweet won't be available for very long so don't waste a minute.
