Story
Our boy Pretzel is still looking for his furever home! Pretzel is an adorable 2-year-old hound mix that is on the hunt for his furever family! He is a large sized boy weighing in at around 63lbs, sometimes he thinks he's a lap dog, and we can't disagree! Pretzel is an active boy who loves other dogs! He is very playful and goofy! He has also completed a 14 day board and train with our wonderful trainer Ernie Webb so Pretzel already knows basic commands, such as sit, wait, break, and heal. He walks well on a leash and is very eager to please! This boy will make a great hiking buddy, boat passenger, or adventure companion! Then he is ready to cuddle up on the couch and take a nap with his human by his side! Pretzel is fixed, vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date on flea prevention. We are unsure how he is with cats but can cat test him if need be. Pretzel's adoption fee has been sponsored by a generous donor! If you are interested in meeting this happy hound boy, please fill out an application at the appropriate link below! Story
You may remember this face! Expert tv star; model; destroyer of all stuffed toys. Jason has been with us for sometime and would love to find his perfect people! Jason came to us after being found as a stray with severe facial lacerations. It's a mystery as to what he has been through, but through it all, his heart and spirit have never wavered. At just under 2 years old, Jason is an energetic, lovable pup that enjoys spending his days shredding the nearest toy, chewing on his favorite rubber ball, and going for walks with his shelter friends. He loves all of the volunteers and just wants to be where the people are. We will warn you, sometimes he thinks he's a lap dog! So be ready for a close snuggle! On hot summer days, Jason likes lounging around in the pool with a toy in his mouth cuz of course, he can't let them out of his sight! After playtime is finished, he seeks solace in his kennel where he will stretch out and take a nap on his bed, dreaming of finding his furever family one day. Jason would love to be in an active home where he can run, play, and be the best boy he can be. He is eager to please, and With the love and guidance of his humans, he will thrive! He really loves being around people and going on adventures! He has been to many events with us and does great with other dogs (no kitties tho) and all humans. He may be a little rambunctious for smaller children but it's all in good fun; as he's just a big goofball! Jason weighs around 41lbs, he is the perfect size and has the cutest unique smile. We just know his future family is out there somewhere! Jason is fixed, vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date on flea and heart worm prevention. Story
April Showers Bring Esme Flowers My name is Esme but my foster pawrents call me May May. I think I am 5 years old and could be classified as short, stocky and fabulous. When I'm not napping in my crate or defeating my toys, I like to go on short walks because I'm really trying to hone my cat walk. Or in my case - learning how to walk on a lead. I am a quick learner. I really enjoy the outdoors where the tiny dinosaurs roam. They are so fun to chase but hard to catch. Pesky peasants. Like Kelly Clarkson, I am strong, independent and overwhelmingly affectionate. Or was that Drew Barrymore? Idk I don't know how I feel about TVs, loud noises or water just yet, but I am really getting used to the good home life. A few of my other favs: giving smooches and getting spoiled with belly rubs, plentiful pets and treats. Anyone who said diamonds are a girls best friend hasn't had chicken crispers. When I said spoiled, I meant it. I like all the attention so I'd be best in a home without other pets. Esme weighs around 40lbs; she is fixed, vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date on flea and heart worm prevention. Story
Meet Hashbrown. He is a special little guy who falls in love with everyone he meets. He's small at only around 30 lbs and has the face of a puppy. He's literally a forever puppy! Hashbrown came to the rescue as a small pup born with spinal malformations (think scoliosis in people). After consulting with specialists and lots of physical therapy, sadly, it was determined that he would never be able to walk like a normal dog. But that's ok! He is super fast with only use of his front two legs and has a pretty rad wheelchair, that will stay with him when he is adopted. He is super fast, and he doesn't know he is any different than any other dog. Hashbrown can go to the bathroom on his own, but his foster mom expresses his bladder every day to help with controlling when he goes. This may sounds super scary, but its SO EASY and we can show you how! It only takes. a minute or two. If not, he can live without being expressed and wears belly bands to keep him clean! Now all his care stuff is out of the way, let's talk about how amazing and wonderful he is. Hashbrown is super loyal. Animals are so resilient and Hashbrown is no different. He runs in the backyard and loves going for walks. He sleeps on a dog bed next to his foster's bed at night and sleeps all through the night. He loves snacks and treats, and his foster mom feeds him snacks in food puzzles that he always figures out. He's so smart. He gained a following on social media with his cute bunny hop videos of him as a baby in a wheelchair. This even landed him in the WeRateDogs segment on Ryan Seacrest's New Year's Rockin Even in 2023! Basically you could adopt your own mini celebrity, lol. Special needs animals aren't really any different than other animals, and Hashbrown would love to find a forever home of his own. He would really make a great travel buddy and a new best friend! If you're interested in meeting this amazing pup, apply today! Or if you have any questions you can email us directly at info@runawaysanimalrescue.org
