Story

We welcomed Draco into our home on January 19, 2025, from the Jacksonville Humane Society. Our girls immediately fell in love with him. At home, he bonded well with our small dog (a toy Australian Shepherd) and our cat (who is usually very selective with affection). However, we’ve had challenges with the larger dog (Boxer). Draco has been incredibly affectionate, loving, and obedient with our family, two adults and three children (ages 14, 12, and 7). We believe he would thrive in a home with older children and no other pets. Draco is also positive for heartworms, but the Jacksonville Humane Society provides free treatment, which will be fully transferrable to his new family. The treatment is manageable, but Draco will need to remain calm for about 30 days after it starts. We will make sure he attends all treatments until he finds his forever home. Please consider providing Draco the love he deserves. He is truly special and I will genuinely miss his face.

My name is Loki, I'm 11 months old about 69 lbs a pit/lab mix. I am neutered and chipped. I'm up to date on my shots. I'm cream with yellowish eyes and I have a little mole on my nose. I love to play with dog toys outside and need a yard that I can run around in as I have lots of energy. My favorite game is tug a war and chasing after balls. I love to give lots of kisses. I am good with kids. I am potty trained and will let you know when I need to go outside to use the restroom. I will be a great family addition.

We adopted Jet in 2008 from the Jacksonville Humane Society in Jacksonville, FL. She is now a senior dog and does not tolerate our other pets. We would like to place her in a home with no other pets. She is beautiful and funny (makes noises). She is potty trained and healthy. She seems to be going deaf. She does not want to share her pet parents with other dogs. She good with kids and adults. She gives a lot of kisses.

“Ginger” was given to me a year ago by my little brother. We are not sure of her mix. She’s a really sweet girl and loves kids. I am a single mom who works 10+ hours a day and i’m moving to a small apartment. I wish i had the time for her that she deserves but i know someone out there will take her in and love her as much as we do.

Chance is 2 years old born Feb 10 2022. He is so loving and sweet but paranoid when it comes to loud sounds and will bark often. Listens well and understand sit/ lay down/ and treat treat of course. His favorite treats are the soft milk bone treats. He lovvveess watermelon. I wish I could keep him forever because he brings me and my children great joy. I’ve had him since he was born. But with my schedule I can’t give him all the attention he needs. And training he needs when it comes to getting along with others he does not do well with new people so it will take him time to get used to someone new I pray that I find someone who is deserving of him. Because he deserves the best. When you meet him he will bark a lot just a heads up and be afraid of you but with time and love he will grow to love you as he did with me and my kids. I will say that chance has trust issues and is not as friendly when meeting people he doesn't know he will bark constantly to show he's big when he's 100%small
